They are totally in Vail, Colorado. That's the ice skating rink in Vail.  2014_Vail-RFP.jpg

Hmm...I could be there in less than 3 hours if I-70 isn't too icy.  :)  (Of course, if Dean was driving, he could be there in 10 minutes or less!)

A former boss of mine was 6'5" and he and his 6'4" brother both played ice hockey. They were big guys in bare feet but they looked like giants on ice skates. I can just imagine how tall Jared is on his. :-O

Oh, not California. I mean, it could, but I'd say Georgia or maybe North Carolina would be more likely than California. The reason why so many shows are filmed in Canada is that, until recently, they gave generous tax incentives to film productions. I don't remember where I heard it, but it sounds like they're looking at filming in the states if the show gets picked up due to the reduction in those tax credits.

Personally, I  hope they're considering Portland, Oregon simply because one of the fun parts of watching The Librarians--and previously Leverage--was that, as a former resident, it was fun to see some of the locations they chose.

This kind of backfired for me in a way. I started watching The Walking Dead seriously mostly because it filmed close by and actually in the town I live in, so I enjoyed recognizing places in my town and seeing what they did with them in the show... Then I got hooked on the show which wouldn't be bad except they basically killed off my favorite character - it's all over but the actual dying now, and from what I can tell, it's not even a good death, but a stupid one - and now I'm sad about that and pissed off that the show is likely ruined for me now. I won't be able to watch it and look for my town anymore without being pissed off that they killed my favorite character... I'm kinda wishing I didn't start watching it actually now, so maybe you're better off a show franchise that tends to kill off characters doesn't film in your town?

I am relating to this post so much! I used to love seeing Wilmington locations the first season of Sleepy Hollow! But then I ended up rage-quitting that show because of how badly one character was mistreated before being killed off. However, in North Carolina's defense, Sleepy Hollow had stopped filming here by the time it really started sucking.

Well, it's not my home town, but I did live there for a few years after college, but it was 20 years ago and I live far away from there now. The location isn't really a big deal to me, I just meant if I decided to watch the show, some added fun could be recognizing locations--it's like playing the "Hey, it's that guy from that other show" game with shows filmed in Vancouver.

I guess I just watch TV differently than most people--or differently than most people who comment here. I never have favorite characters or worry about characters getting killed off; I watch for the complete show. I'll miss a character if they get killed off and am not always happy with how a show might handle a certain character's storyline, but I can never work myself up to rage about any show. Usually I stop watching when a show stops engaging me that I forget to watch a bunch of episodes.

I was really excited when "Terriers" (which is a GREAT show and you should all watch) it was filmed in and around my actual neighborhood in San Diego. Like within a 5 mile radius.  And then other parts of San Diego.  Every time I would see a location I would chuckle to myself because I know what that building or spot REALLY is and how they are using it. So fun.

Terriers was a great show... I wished it had gotten to last a bit longer.

This is the way I am with most shows. I have maybe one or two shows at the most at any one time that I am more invested in. The Walking Dead just happened to be one of those shows. Once Supernatural ends, I won't have any shows left that I am invested in because I'm not going to watch The Walking Dead anymore once Carl is dead, and there haven't been any other recent shows that have grabbed me like SPN and TWD have/did.

Lydia Place Pledges to End Family Homelessness Through Community Support

http://www.whatcomtalk.com/2017/12/31/lydia-place-pledges-to-end-family-homelessness/

Quote

Lydia Place, a Bellingham homeless housing and supportive service non-profit agency, has launched a family housing initiative to house every homeless family with children in the next twelve months. Sparked by a power team of private and public entities, including Landmark Real Estate Management, the City of Bellingham, Random Acts and private landlords Misha Collins and Vicki Vantoch, whom each pledged resources and support ranging from housing units, funding for housing case management and supportive services and rental subsidy matching funds. This final component, rental subsidy, is critical to the program’s success and one that involves a community matching challenge.

At present, Random Acts, a non-profit founded by Collins, an actor for CW’s Supernatural, to deliver and inspire acts of kindness around the globe, has raised $100,000 through a holiday campaign titled #IWishForThis. The #IWishForThis campaign was inspired by Collins and Vantoch’s four-year old daughter who, when asked what she wished for after blowing a dandelion into the air one summer day, responded, “I wish for…this!” referring to the moment and dandelion in hand. Inspired by their child’s kindness and simple wish, Collins, Vantoch and Random Acts launched the international fundraiser utilizing a t-shirt embellished with a seeding dandelion, to raise funds and awareness of the issue of homelessness, hoping to inspire action and awareness across the globe.

Lydia Place is now turning to the local Whatcom County community to join those who have supported the campaign from countries as far as Budapest, Australia and Japan, to step up to an additional challenge from Random Acts, Collins and Vantoch to match $50,000 of local financial support. These matched funds will provide an additional year of support and help to provide case management, parenting support and mental health services for those families recently housed, essential pieces that are critical to disrupting the cycle of homelessness for children and their families.

Collins expressed, “I hope this will be an opportunity not only for the families to find stability and community, but a chance for Bellingham to become the example that other cities point to in finding a community solution to the problem of homelessness and affordable housing. I hope this match will result in happy home lives for those moms and their kids and that more property owners will join in this mission.”

For Lydia Place, the #IWishForThis campaign and initiative all are essential to their mission to disrupt the cycle of homelessness and promote sustained independence for current and future generations. Lydia Place has been a community resource for Whatcom County families and individuals since 1989. Through partnerships with private and public entities, Lydia Place serves 150 households at any given time through its diverse housing and support programs.

Since launching the partnership in late summer of 2017, Lydia Place and Landmark have housed 12 local homeless families. Locally owned and operated since 1993, Landmark Real Estate Management, LLC, specializes in commercial and residential property management and maintenance.  Landmark is one of the county’s largest property management companies, with over 1,300 residential units. For co-owner Troy Muljat, the partnership with Lydia Place hit a chord with him personally, making finding a solution to the rising homeless issue one of great importance. Muljat shared “I personally feel passionate about helping find solutions to the homeless issues surrounding our community. I feel strongly that everyone deserves a place to live. It is an honor to serve our community and we are excited to see how we can grow and challenge others to help end homelessness.”

Homelessness is also a very personal issue for Misha Collins, who experienced homelessness and poverty throughout his childhood. Collins shared, “I lived in a tent with my mom in New England when I was a kid, and the kindness of strangers and public assistance brought us out of that situation, so I know first-hand how important a roof over your head can be.” These experiences inspired Collins to launch his non-profit Random Acts, a non-profit organization that encourages people of all ages to perform their own acts of kindness wherever, and whenever possible. Leading by example, Collins inspires action and kindness worldwide through campaigns like #IWishForThis.

The #IWishForThis matching campaign will take place throughout the month of January, one of the hardest months for families living in poverty and homelessness. By making monthly contributions of $10, $20, $50 and above, Lydia Place is hoping to create a vast pool of local supporters that are invested in the work and mission of the organization and initiative, and ensure the long-term success of families exiting homelessness. Lydia Place Executive Director, Emily O’Connor shared, “We [Lydia Place] have no doubt that our compassionate community will rise to meet not only this matching challenge but the broader challenge of homelessness. As Misha reminds us, if each of us do our small part, such as making a monthly gift to Lydia Place to help a family keep a roof over their heads, we will achieve our vision of a community without homelessness. Accomplishing that would change the fabric and landscape of our community for generations to come.”

To make a gift to the #IWishForThis matching campaign and become a monthly partner in ending homelessness in Bellingham, log on to lydiaplace.org this January and select the donate tab, or contact the organization at info@lydiaplace.org.

“We are so grateful to have partners like Misha, Vicki, Troy and the City of Bellingham in our community, and with support from individuals throughout Whatcom County, we are so excited to see just how far we can take this opportunity.” -Emily O’Connor

If you click the little white arrow, you'll see that the Jensen is in this. LOL I'm not just posting the pics of the brewery without Jensen in the pics.

Interesting that this was liked by Jensen. I don't know why, but it shows up as liked by Jensen on my phone

Are you sure you don't know?  I'm assuming that he got the NSFW + tawdry + video joke going on there.  Look at the video with a dirty mind.

I literally didn't know why he would have liked it other than Misha is his friend. LOL But I totally didn't see what was so dirty or tawdry about it myself and I am almost ALWAYS the first one to jump to the dirty interpretations of things LOL.

That looked to me just like Misha rolling out some dough for like a bread stick or something. LOL I failed.

I think it has something to do with all the Travis Aaron Wade stuff and the accusations against Misha. Kind of an inside joke.

What accusations? I know Wade was kicked out of cons for his behavior with some of the congoers.

I haven't followed it all but apparently since then TAW and his assistant - and some fake Twitter accounts - have accused Misha of being inappropriate in photo ops. And some other stuff in general about the cast not standing up for him and the toxic environment. I see some of it on Twitter but generally try to cruise on by.

Oh. Wow. Inappropriate during photo ops? That's seems highly unlikely. I mean photo ops are done in full view of the photographer, the security people and con attendees. If there was inappropriate behavior as in unwelcome and unasked for in a photo op that shit would have been all over twitter by now.

I still don't get what that has to do with the video though. What am I missing here?

So, not Misha rolling out something that looks like a part of the male anatomy?

Seriously, I think this is as simple as what "influencing" has come to mean at the cons.

Nothing deep or referential of inside gossip going on.

I saw a post on one of FBBC's social media accounts that it would be Jan. 10. Someone asked and the brewery and they responded. But then I went back and it was gone. Clearly all the media doing pre-interviews have been told not to say when. I wonder if they are trying to limit planned excursions just to see Jensen so it's not so crazy.

Having said that, if it really is Jan. 10 I think he will be shooting.

They* already said it was going to be a 'soft' opening - not a big, grand event. It's inevitable that there will be people who only go in the hopes of seeing Jensen or Danneel there. Hopefully they don't make it weird or uncomfortable for regular customers. They really seem to have made it a family-friendly place (that still seems weird to me for a beer company, lol). I wish them nothing but success.

*I can't remember if it was Jensen or Danneel, but one of them said so. I feel like it was Danneel, at the con where she and Gino had a table in the merchandise room?

Jensen said during a con panel about the soft openings

Honestly, this is on par with many microbrewery/restaurants in the US. Those accomodate children and families as well. I think they mean it's not a nightclub pick up joint where people will go to get laid or something.
