Oh I think it's mostly a running joke on Tumblr that he'll see it. About half seem genuinely concerned and the other half is like Bring it! Come look at our stuff!

We will do this through a massive online scavenger hunt that will challenge your wit, creativity, weirdness and your ability to throw caution and normalcy to the wind and truly experience the world around you in ways you never have before.

Oh yes - and there will be prizes! Lots and lots of prizes. There will also be a massive charitable component so we can do a lot of good while we’re making mischief.

How does it work?

It’s easy! Just keep an eye on the gishwhes blog (officialgishwhes.tumblr.com). Misha will post creative tasks (“items”) every hour or two to be completed in a certain time frame. You complete them and then post them to Tumblr with certain tags. Then you’ll probably win prizes and get to give stuff to great charities! See more details below as there are some things you need to do to make sure we see your submissions!

30 Hours! I can’t play for 30 hours!

You don’t have to. You can complete as many items as you wish and play as long as you wish (and you can start playing at any point over the next 30 hours). Each item winner will get a prize and be able to select something wonderful for a charity in need. You could even just do 1 single item if you wish and try to win the prize.

What’s it cost?

Nothing! It’s free.

How do you determine the winner of each item?

The winning submission will be based on the following criteria: (1) quality of submission, (2) speed of submission (3) did the submission make the judges laugh, cry, or feel hungry, (4) and the general moods of our judges at the moment they see your submission. (Note: our judges were recently classified by “Judges Mood Analysis Classification of America” as the “Top Most Moodiestest Judges in North America” - we’re very proud of this). Do your best! But remember this is really about creating chaos on Tumblr, pushing your artistic boundaries and supporting some great charities!

I’m in. How do I sign-up? What do I do?

1. If you’re not a registered Tumblr user, go sign up at www.tumblr.com, then come back to officialgishwhes.tumblr.com to join us! You don’t have to register for anything else, pay a fee, give a blood sample, or anything else. You’re a Tumblr user and that’s good enough for us.

2, We’ll post an item on officialgishwhes.tumblr.com.

3, Follow the instructions to complete the stated item as requested. This might include making something, or doing something online or doing a thing out in the World. (Or it could be something else entirely. We don’t know. We just snuck in here and we’re making this up as we go!)

4. Post your submission as indicated on officialgishwhes.tumblr.com and any other blog or site that you may be directed to thereafter.

5. Tag your entries #gishwhestakestumblr and #gtt(number). For example, if the Item is Item #1, it would be tagged #gishwhestakestumblr and #gtt1. But don’t worry- every time we release an item, we’ll tell you what tags you should be using. Just make sure you use them or your submission won’t be counted and will be lost to the void of the Interwebs.

THIS IS IMPORTANT. If you don’t put your requested tags in the FIRST tags on the post, we might not see it  and you might not win a prize. That’s a tragedy we can easily avoid.  Just type  #gishwhestakestumblr and #gtt(number) as the first tags in every post you submit for consideration.

6. Respect the deadlines!

Each item will have a deadline which we will post. Make sure you post your item by the deadline in order for it to count for a prize.

7. Make sure your “asks” are on so if you won, we can reach out to you to get your contact information so we can send you your prize.

To summarize:

1. Be a registered Tumblr user, or sign up for Tumblr.

2. Watch for posts on officialgishwhes.tumblr.com

3. Follow the instructions to complete the stated ITEM as requested. Be creative! Creativity is key.

4. Post your completed item to Tumblr.

5. TAG that post #gishwhestakestumblr and #gtt(number). We’ll tell you which tags to use.

6. Make sure the first tags in your post are #gishwhestakestumblr and #gtt(number) or we won’t see it.

7. Post your submission by the deadline we state to be eligible to win the prize for that item.

8. Keep your “asks” open so we can reach you if you won.

The name of the game with this scavenger hunt is speed chaos creativity mayhem (it’s a really long name - so you can just call it “Bob” to keep it simple). We will post items periodically over the 30 hours and deadlines for submission may vary, but generally will be about 2 hours for each item (unless we feel like doing it differently). So make awesome submissions, but do it fast!

We will release multiple items at a time, so if you can’t do one thing, chances are you can do another.

4.PRIZES

Are there prizes? Oh yeah. There are prizes. We have a great big pile of CRAP (Completely Ridiculously Awesome Prizes) here with us at at GISHWHES mobile HQ and we’re eager to give it away to people like you.

Each item will have a winner. That means instead of having a single winner for the hunt (like the GISHWHES Hunt in August will), we’ll have dozens of winners. Each winner will receive a prize pack filled with crazy cool stuff including high end tech gear, fandom merch, and exclusive signed merchandise and props from television shows - this is CRAP you cannot get anywhere and will never be able to get anywhere else ever again.

(SPOILER ALERT: There are also some incredible prizes that have been generously donated by some of the celebrities whose blogs we’re going to sneak into later… But shhh! We didn’t tell you about that yet.)

Jensen and Rob singing Fare Thee Well and Jensen singing Whipping Post. OH MY GODS HE IS SO GOOD with this song and IMO this is his best rendition. He just nails the last run. Sigh...(And Rob is kind of shredding)

Lots of hugging and touching going on last night.  The fans are beside themselves with glee!!  LOL!  I'm just amazed at how well this cast gets along.  I suppose they could all just be really good actors, but it certainly seems genuine to me.  I think this is a very special time for all of them, and they're just riding the wave.  After 11 years on the air, it's pretty remarkable.

"By his own choice" is an interesting answer.

I'm laughing(at myself) because you are both YAY for Jensen having more time off with his family (see also: Jared LOL)

and I'm over here being  Ms Cynic thinking "mmm hmmmm..."his own choice" being a choice to have a full hiatus or direct first because they didn't offer/don't permit him to do it during the season. They could write Dean out for one episode or for like 5 minutes of screen time like they did in Bloodlines or other episodes that were actually Dean lite.

Sorry I'm a cynic and a skeptic on this one. LOL

I'm with you catrox, I think Jensen should be offered the opportunity to direct an episode at a time other than the first of the season. Why should he have to get to Vancouver early each year in order to direct an episode? It seems to me that after eleven seasons, he's earned a little flexibility in the scheduling. What's more  -  he's a damn good director, so they would be wise to use his talents each season. I really, really do not like the way this show is run!!!

Now, to be fair, it's possible that he wanted to direct first  when he first started directing but given how much he prepares I think he could swing it during the season. I mean he said that he pretty much plots the whole thing out before he shows up on set, hands the whole notebook, literally a notebook over to the first AD so Jensen can focus on acting and make adjustments.

I also think he needs a script from one of the good writers, and stop giving him shit like Buck Leming. I mean sure Jensen makes something watchable out of it but man, what I would love to see him do with a script from Robbie..or Ben Edlund...Oh wait...:(

I'm a petty shit sometimes. I would really laugh if he had the option to take a Buck-Leming script and he's all ...um , you know, I'm good with a full hiatus this year. LOL.

LOL indeed! I'm sure that he is aware that most (all?) of their scripts aren't worth the powder it would take to blow them to hell! But you know, you've just created a scenario in my head where this has happened! Powder to Jensen! Um, I meant power! ;)

Considering how they film, I'm not sure it would work at any other time during the season.  It takes him weeks to prepare, so he'd most-likely miss more than one episode if he were doing this during the season.  I'm selfish and I'd much rather see Jensen in front of the camera, so I don't really want him out of episodes.  If he wants to direct again, all he has to do is say the word.  Again, to each his own.  I believe he fully enjoys directing, but I think he considers himself an actor first.

They have a GISHWHES call center with Misha, Rob, Dick, Ruth, Kim, Kathryn, and Jason Manns.They are going to cut hair. Like actually. I don't think Jensen and Jared are there. Maybe they'll join via FB.

So, you know...when SPN eventually ends, I would so watch a reality show that follows the cast post Supernatural. Have it be the folks in L.A. and Vancouver and Jared and Jensen in Austin. "Supernatural: The Real Shenanigans of the SPN Family.
