In my personal opinion, anyone who takes a year or two to plan a wedding WANTS to take that long, instead of NEEDING to take that long, and that's ok. Not my cup of tea, but to each her own. If she prioritized her wedding over being a DCC, that's her choice. A marriage is far more perms any and encompassing, so if I had to choose between the two for my extra time, I'd choose the marriage, too.

Now I have a whole other opinion on women who take a year off from school or work to just do nothing but look at bride books and taste cupcakes or whatever. That seems like such a waste - putting your education or income on hold to try on dresses? So superfluous in 2016.

I was under the impression that it's not the wedding PLANNING that wrecks their ability to cheer for DCC, but when the actual wedding falls.  If you are getting married in the midst of training camp (like Victoria and I believe Rachel) that means you'd be missing like over a week of camp, maybe two weeks, which I can't see them ever permitting.  A fall wedding could also be difficult to work around but not as impossible as summer.

How will the HQ move to California work with the DCC based in Texas? Kelli mentioned moving 30 years of costumes, etc. from Valley Ranch.

Somebody explain how this works - will everyone commute back and forth? Only  be in Dallas for games? I don't understand.

I read that Oxnard for the Cowboys is no longer.  They will train at the new facility.

Love this video cause it shows how good Candy Mahan was as a dancer. Judy said once she was the best.

I would like to meet the person or persons responsible for the routines especially the ones at the end. Talk about junior high/high school dancing without the sexy factor.

Who was the blonde with the short hair, the one who ended up second from the left end in the kickline?

The one blonde w/ the shorter hair was very thick - all the others looked great and like they could make the team today. Nicole Hamilton = amazing! Wow does it look awkward when they do non-DCC-style dancing in their uniforms - contemporary dance moves and leaps were not meant to be done in cowboy boots and fringe ;).

This isn't a knock on the girls at all, but I wish the choreography would really showcase the girls' talent. They're all amazing dancers, but some of the choreo is so bland you don't really see that. I know people have said this before, but I really wish they would post everyone's solo routine at auditions online.

I think they showed all the veterans solo routines in season 5 on the DCC website, and they did show a few seconds of the vets solo routines last year. I would love to see a two hour finals episode and show the veterans preparing for finals. I also think Kandi was a great vet especially her last year with her cute short hair style and figure.

Ok so seriously, I think Erica Jenkins and Brooke Sorenson look about as thick as Kandi. Kandi looks like all muscle to me, like she's about to take off and tumble for Olympic Gold. I see absolutely no belly hanging during the bend in the kickline, no jiggle, cellulite, flab, etc. She just looks like a muscular gymnast.

I think the big difference is Brooke has inches of leg on Kandi. Kandi isn't fat, or out of shape, or big. But she was short. There is no way that kind of "stumpy" would fly now. Think about TCC Megan from Tampa Bay -- she was nowhere near that stocky.

This. Kandi looked stocky because she was naturally muscular and had no where for it to go - kind of like Vivian (sorry, I didn't think she looked any different the second year she was a TCC).  I have short legs and put muscle on super easy - it's frustrating because i can be in great shape and still look thicker than the girl next to me.  I'm just glad they didn't have the HD screen then and were more lenient with the body types - they would have really missed out not having Kandi.  She is amazing to watch.

This issue was touch on on the Former DCC thread but I want to continue it so I thought I would move it here.

As far as the DCC posting stories on the website, Jackie Bob was the winner in my book. She was the first to make her posts interactive with the fans, turning the tables on them and asking them fun, silly questions about all kinds of things. And she was funny (a novelty in those posts). Her personality beamed through. They should have made her in charge of social media.

With that said, it brings to mind something else so thank you Jackie Bob for inspiring this.

I know there are stalkers and we are in a social media OVERLOAD on this planet but I believe there is still a way to connect with fans without having to reveal your most personal thoughts/phone number/boyfriend’s name.  The DCC site is so bad as is their Facebook page, and the cheerleaders individual Instagram and Twitter pages are just pictures posted mainly.  Boring. There needs to be interviews or stories posted again.  These girls are way more interesting than anyone gives them credit for.

I always look at Tom Hanks as an example of someone who always has lots to talk about but never reveals anything very personal about himself.  Same with Jason Bateman.  They talk about sleep, travel, funny things that happen to them.  Kelli and Judy talk about how the DCC is a world class organization all the time.  But their online presence is embarrassing. We used to know something about the team and each girl.  Now we know nothing about any of them.  Isn’t that the point of the reality show?

File this under missed opportunities.

I've always said that, being short is rough (I'm 5'2").   Someone like Meredith Oden could get away with it because of her height.   Another short girl that got cut that I felt bad for was Grace Lee Sells.   You have to be super thin when you are short, like Sydney Durso is 105 pounds.

You're right, but I don't think they'd choose Meredith now, either. Her first audition year, weight (or more like weight distribution for her - she gains exactly like me - all in the belly, on matter how thin everywhere else is) was an issue. That's pretty much why she didn't stay for a full five and went ahead and got married and moved after 4. It's just impossible for some people to maintain the current, big screen, super toned, willow thin, standards.

I don't think Meredith got married and moved with her husband to D.C. because she was called out for weight in season 5. She left because she wanted to start a new life outside the DCC world.

We can go around and around on this, and never agree, BUT - I don't think she had an angsty moment and ran off to move and marry some guy just because of the weigh ins. I absolutely do believe she decided to retire after four years, instead of staying on for that magic "5", due to weight. She just so happened to have the opportunity to have her wedding and move at the same time. I don't think she quit just to get married, or just to move, but the sequence just fell that way. I liked her and wish she had stayed longer, but that's not what happened. Best wishes to her.

I agree.   Who wants to live in another city from your husband?   I believe he works in the State Department, so he wasn't moving.   She was already mid to late 20's.  She quickly had 2 kids, which says to me she was ready to move on with her life.

I was reading biographies of the rookies on the dcc website, do they write them themselves because this is terrible...

"Then, I audition for “So You Think You Can Dance” season twelve and made it all the way to Las Vegas callbacks to get cut in the top fifty of team stage. Now, I am perusing my dream of being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and it is one of the best dance experiences I have ever had."

They probably do. I remember thinking that Holly didn't really seem to value education or book smarts very much. That definitely reads like it was written by a 19 year old with a GED. I mean nothing against her at all, but that blurb really points to her having written it herself (in an email perhaps, and then copy pasted on the site by the "webmaster").

Holly is not the only girl who writes like this on the website. Some of the things the girls write or say boggles my mind. Of course, it does not help when Kelli, Judy and the girls say the same thing over and over again on the website and the show. I often wonder if CMT and the DCC organization hands out a list of things for the staff and girls to say because it sounds good.

I am just baffled that Kelli and Judy do not have someone edit all the bios, or at least check them for basic grammar and spelling. Most of the girls have glaring errors that just make it seem unprofessional. I don't mind a more conversational style but they brag about well-educated girls and it's like uh...

I'm not sure what the best thread is to post this but I was perusing the guidelines for auditions and came across this: "Finalists have a brief meeting with Cheerleader Director, Kelli McGonagill Finglass to schedule their personal interview appointment and to discuss Final Audition Components: Solo Talent Presentation, Written Essay, Panel Interview and Test"

Why don't we hear about an essay or test?

I really applaud all the DCC cheerleaders past and present ... this sounds like more work than a job interview or even getting into college!  Especially if you're international and don't know the rules of the games or our culture.  Kudos to them all.
