I definitely wanted/want Lucas to be a relationship where he's someone's first choice, or there at least isn't decades of drama interfering with things...but Anne wasn't it.

Although she was portrayed as a bit man-hungry (I remember a scene of her and Theresa at that club Belle eventually used as offices for her law practice, LOL, hunting for rich guys to hook-up with), I never saw her having chemistry with anyone.

I think the actress is an author now and probably has moved on.

Which was laughable because we know it was DOA to begin with. I actually liked him best with Sheryl(Jordan and Ben's friend) but they ruined for no reason. I also would've welcomed Jamie back and pair her up with Lucas this time he actually wants her back.

The thought crossed my mind that it's about Kimberly (and would explain if she doesn't show up to John's funeral but it would be overkill to kill off Kim and John at the same time).

However I lean towards this being about John's disappearance because he's also Tate's grandfather and I could see Brady and Holly being strong for Tate in his time of need over this.

While I do agree that it's pretty overkill to kill off two major long time veteran characters within months of each other, depending on how sick Kimberly might be, I think it might be possible that the writers might wait a while until after John's death for Kimberly to eventually die from health complications as to not have her death potentially overshadow John's. 

I don't really see how John's disappearance is supposed to motivate Theresa to leave town abruptly though. She already knows that there's something going on with him from Brady.

I think they are happier now. The transition was rough on some characters and the 2 head writers have different agendas. Janet really does listen though.

Suzanne was definitely gone when Gwen first came on so July episodes. I think she was back by the fall. I hope she is around when the truth comes out. Sarah will need her

I don't know for sure but I think Philip convinces Xander to forgive. It looks like they are tight again as brothers from the footage RSW leaked in December though. I feel like it's easier for Xander to get over Philip's part. Sarah is a big betrayal.

So how old is Victoria going to be at this point? Do you know? 

I'll be very surprised if Joy is still pregnant by the time that she comes back, if she does come back. Are you sure that she isn't going to either miscarry or terminate the pregnancy by then?

Like I said in another thread about Days future from the creative side we are seeing the OGs slowly leaving us. I mean yeah we know it's broke and cheap looking but if there were good stories, characters we have known for years this could be overlooked but this show didn't build a decent future to carry the show through.

Victoria is going to be 4. So not a huge jump.

Yeah Paula C is all about legacy characters and stuff from 20 years ago when she was briefly on the show. Jeanne is more in tune with the current  canvas. I also expect one of them to go quickly. 

Chloe is likely back in October right when Joy would be due. So I'm expecting a sick baby plot. Recast if it is Chloe. Paula created the character and would get residuals.

I watched that YT DOOL gossip channel the other day and in the latest video they said that Gwen either knows where Abigail's remains are or knows where the alive Abigail is, so that may well be how she fits into things. They also guessed she might be working for Clyde but that makes no sense since he's in a coma.

They also forewarned that Bo's return is not a long one, just a few weeks to wrap up his messy recent history.

I'd thought that with Drake's salary freeing up (RIP) maybe that meant Peter was now a full-timer.

Frankly if he's not actually doing a year on the show, I just don't care anyone. He's in/he's out/it's not enough money/its a big return so celebrate me! etc etc.

It's like he wants better treatment than everyone else. Read the room, man.

Kristian has been left in a lousy position because of him for the last few years.

Of course, the producers nixed his last return being a happy ending/reunion so...there's blame to go around.

I agree with you @DisneyBoy if Days wants a future he should anchor it since Drake is gone but if he’s not sticking around long term they should focus on Steve/Kayla for once. At least those actors are still here full time.

PR is turning 70 years old in May.  He shouldn't be the anchor, especially after being gone for most of the past 25 years.  I'm not sure KA would come back FT either.  It's been pretty clear from the past returns that KA and PR are happier when they aren't sharing a screen.

I do think it would be kind of awesome if they somehow wooed him back with a story about Bo Brady taking control over Titan, pushing aside half-brothers Philip and Xander.  Bring back Chelsea and Ciara, so all three Brady kids are living in Victor's mansion.

Bo could work to re-position Titan as a responsible, environmentally-forward corporation.  That would play well into PR's instincts.

Then again, not sure that Bo In A Suit, or Bo Holding Meetings, would work for many.  Yes, the rest of Victor's family could provide drama.

It would be a welcome change from 100s of DiMeras running around (ok, it only seems like hundreds.)

When I mean anchor I mean a patriarch like Drake/John was set up to be. I mean he has his son on the show. Bring back Claire etc to carry the show forward.. If not him then Abe should be the show’s patriarch along with Steve perhaps. They are around. Course they need to beef up those families also.

 

If this show wants to get rid of people for $$ they can dump the Dimeras who stopped being scary ages ago

Yeah I agree. I mean I didn't have high expectations about how this was going to be handled but John should have at least a week long tribute when it happens.

This isn't like Victor and Doug where they were supporting characters John was still a male lead on this show.
