Not surprising.  Now we know that Xander gets it from both parents, not just from Victor.

Not necessarily. Steve grew up with an extremely abusive father and submissive mother. Jack was raised by the power-hungry and misogynistic Harper Devereux and the disdainful socialite Angelica. Both were able to change for better despite their family background and things they had done in the past. By no means couldn’t Xander have undergone similar path.

At least it sounds like Johnny won't be having this misunderstanding about Chanel for too long.  But . . . it sounds like finding out the truth, from the wording of the Abe/Paulina spoiler, just makes things worse with him and Chanel, not better.

Faux Abigail is finally found out.  About time.  I hope that Billy kills those scenes.

am interested in seeing how Fiona interacts with E.J.

Just as Kristen had started acting somewhat more human, she pulls this?

I'm already liking Joy. Since Chloe is my favorite character, I'm biased. I hope the show writes her well.

I find it confusing that Bonnie is talking about Joy with Kate and Abe. Granted Kate and Chloe have an extensive history, and I guess Bonnie and Chloe have history, too. It's still an odd assortment of characters.

I hope Parker will be introduced, too.

Bonnie knew Chloe during the Ghoul Girl days as Mimi and Chloe hated each other at the time. That part made sense to me.

I know. I noted that Chloe and Bonnie have history, too. I was actually thinking of their more recent history with the Bonnie/Lucas baby lie. I just think Kate/Bonnie/Abe are a weird assortment of characters to discuss Joy. Then I remembered that this is probably because of Body and Soul.

Yes that's a good point Kate should definitely hate her for that but this show tries to whitewash Bonnie so at the same time I'm not surprised they conveniently ignore it.

Phillip is back Friday just in time to contest the will and stop Xander from giving away Titan (played by John-Paul Lavoisier, the guy who played him last year). I will be glad to see him in this instance. I hope Brady comes up with another way to get the serum away from his awful ex. Proffering his body to her should work.

Does Phillip know Xander is his brother?  I'm sure it was probably off screen if so(they tend to have the good stuff happen offscreen)

It honestly has not been that long in Salem time, he may well have just found out.

I know that a lot of people really like the returning of former characters, but to me, it just crowds the stories since most of them are just returning for a short time. If Philip's return is just to get Kristen to stop trying to take Titan, fine. But, we don't need new wasted stories - UNLESS they get rid of the stupid soap opera nonsense. In that case, I guess I would rather see useless and stupid stories with people we already know.

So, Salem is now the new LA/NY in terms of casting for acting roles? And, I know people have been asking about Joy for a long time, but it doesn't sound like she will be a nice person. We already have teens/young 20s silly teens with Holly and Sophia. So, now we have Joy.

I'm okay with Joy not being a nice person. Personally, I think we have too many nice people on canvas, especially in the Chanel/Johnny/JJ/Alex category. (I don't know if I should include Stephanie here since she's in her 30s, but she is heavily connected to Alex. Stephanie and Chloe had a somewhat rocky history, so it could be a foundation for a Joy vs. Stephanie feud). I think Joy is needed to shake up the tedium of the set that should be anchoring stories.

This may just be Paulina putting Abe on blast for Chanel saying Johnny is 'working' so many hours

Agreed. With Nancy and Craig as her parents, I really wouldn't expect a sweet ingenue. (Chloe wasn't a bitch but I wouldn't have classified her as sweet, either.) The show desperately needs schemers and at least one good bad boy.

I think Noah Reed is coming soon, to tempt Holly away from sweet Tate.

Fast but....okay. I mean, I wouldn't have minded them being estranged for 6 months. For once it would make sense.

Per a preview for next week, Stefan does get an actual exit, but it's a pretty lame one.  He's kidnapped by Vivian and her henchmen and shipped off to parts unknown.  He's seen being stuffed into the trunk of a car, bound and gagged.

Tate and Sophia, meanwhile, are poised to have sex, and Holly's about to walk in on them doing it.

Not henchmen... the divine Ivan!

But yes lame af

That henchman that put Stefan in a trunk was Ivan(and while I find it hard to believe he could do it at his age I appreciate the nod to history of him always being a right hand man to Madame).

I'm just thrilled to see him and Louise as Vivian again. If they're willing to do the show, as they seem to be, I wish TIIC would see fit to give them something fun to do, instead of just using them to facilitate something with a less interesting character (often Stefan, but also Jake, Lani, etc).

It's also hugely sad that after decades of serving her - and adoring her - Ivan still hasn't ever been her lover, has he?

Nope but I think he's just her companion and not much else. Although I could've sworn at one point Ivan/Celeste were almost a thing at one point. Or maybe that was wishful thinking on my part.

I guess?

I mean, as a viewer, I suppose I prefer a more natural build-up, but if they just asked her to turn around and refer to Doug getting ill mere days after burying her real husband? That's...pretty awful.

People do die of heart attacks suddenly, or other things that cannot be foreseen. I fully expected Victor to just go in his sleep. Saying he died in a plane crash was a bit extra, especially since it was clear John was winding down these last few years.

How did Alice die again?

I can understand about Julie & Doug because Susan & Bill were real life partners. I'm sure it wasn't easy, but Susan is a good actress.

But "extra" for Victor? Soaps are not fairy tales, and people do die in plane crashes. We can't all be lucky enough to simply die in our sleep.
