Lantern7 September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 Adolf & Eugene's Bogus Journey continues. The Saint comes back to fuck everybody up twice over, only to get called back by the Hell Matron. What do you call her? Starr lets Cassidy and Tulip in on the grand plan to have Jesse play Christ ("or a reasonable approximation thereof," according to the Pope), and Jesse is okay with this because Humperdoo is not an appealing Plan A. I'm not digging the "I got this power for a reason!" reasoning, though. Didn't Genesis just possess hosts with deep beliefs until it find one that didn't explode? Oh, and Martin is hungry for the puppy. Of course he is. Also from the "Of Course" Dept: Eugene got molested at camp. And his dad does not look good with the arse face. How fast was Hoover running? I'm thinking he covered 100 meters in eleven seconds trying to get clear of the Saint. I'm gonna miss this show. I think it improved from the first season, though I was mostly "over" Annville from the start. We get it, i's a town that sounds like "anvil," and Garth Ennis isn't the most subtle writer in the world . . . Link to comment
AnimeMania September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 My favorite part was when SOK threw Cassidy through the wall. Did they explain why SOK is no longer effected by Jesse's "voice"? I am guessing that Grail removed that part of Jesse's soul and now they have it. 3 Link to comment
ganesh September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 No, it seemed like the voice was on the fritz again like the end of the last episode. 1 Link to comment

I guess that means 1% of Jesse is in hell. I thought they might have removed Jesse's soul because Grail Agent F. .J. Hoover was reading a manual (soul extraction device?) and highlighting the important bits. That would be one way to convince the SOK that he could successfully get his revenge on Custer. 1 Link to comment

If the Saint still had that 1% of Jesse's soul, he would have had to 'obey' Jesse when he used Genesis on him when he came back to the apt. I think the Grail removed it. Doyounot September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 My favourite parts were all the random banter between cassidy and pretty much everyone. Even his explanation as to why he said starr was ugly.. he had a thought and said it ha! Its funny the grail had to sit and watch the nonsense all day. I hope cassidy and tulip find the camera and figure it out before jesse gets too far gone. Also tulip fighting her "friend' would be epic! 4 Link to comment

thuganomics85 September 6, 2017 Share September 6, 2017 As much as I enjoy the main trio playing off one another, I think I could watch an entire episode of Cassidy just getting on Herr Starr's nerves. That was a meeting I never knew I wanted! Nice seeing W. Earl Brown pop back in for a moment as Eugene's dad in his version of Hell. But now Eugene is escaping! With... Hitler. I mean, I'm glad for Eugene (and he better give Jesse plenty of shit for this), but Hitler coming back to life is probably going to be bad news. Although, assuming they don't get any info down there, he's going to be in for a bit of a culture shock, I imagine. The Saint of Killers makes is grand return and pretty much wrecks everyone. But before he can finish off Jesse, he is taken back to Hell. But I'm sure he'll be back. Looks like Jesse is agreeing to be the new Jesus/Savior, much to Tulip and Cassidy's chagrin. Curious to see how the finale will play out. 1 Link to comment
Snookums September 6, 2017 Share September 6, 2017 Quote . If the Saint still had that 1% of Jesse's soul, he would have had to 'obey' Jesse when he used Genesis on him when he came back to the apt. I think the Grail removed it. But Genesis was fitzing on Jesse last week too, right? And that had nothing to do with the Saint; he hadn't shown up yet. Genesis is going static-y and signal loss for some reason; I'm guessing the fact that 1% of his soul is missing, period. Man, Starr's gonna be pissed the first time he wants Jesse to sway a crowd and it doesn't work. Cassidy and Tulip being bounced around like Superballs was mighty amusing, as was Cassidy's hiding of little Banjo. That there's interesting, as he's chomped his way through many a furbaby in his day with no regret--I have the feeling watching Denis is like seeing what Cassidy himself has appeared as to others for his entire existence. Not much fun, is it Cas? Did the Saint seem unusually eloquent with Jesse in that last scene? Like, almost a different person? Granted he's probably been muttering vile epithets for a good two weeks in the back of the van so he had a speech planned, but it seemed off, a little bit. Maybe the 1% soul is affecting him. And of course Hell is hand in glove with the Grail; it makes total sense, when you think about it. The majordomo's flat threat of putting the Saint's wife or daughter in the empty cell was chilling--"God is gone. Who's going to stop me?" 2 Link to comment

Genesis is going static-y and signal loss for some reason; I'm guessing the fact that 1% of his soul is missing, period. That's what I've been saying. The voice clearly glitched when he was trying to command the SoK just like it did last week outside of Starr's office. 7 hours ago, Snookums said: Man, Starr's gonna be pissed the first time he wants Jesse to sway a crowd and it doesn't work. This will actually be really interesting. Jesse did have an active following at church in S1, so it's not like he doesn't know what he's doing as a preacher. So maybe the voice doesn't work, but Jesse is still successful. If people already buy in that he's Jesus, they're going to be predisposed to listen to him anyway. 7 hours ago, Snookums said: "God is gone. Who's going to stop me?" This was interesting to me too because I've been saying that it's largely irrelevant that god is gone, since the world hasn't experienced any large scale cosmic changes. Now, if the show is saying that there needs to be a god occupying the "office" for lack of a better term, in order to enforce certain rules of the afterlife, then that's a different story altogether. ItCouldBeWorse September 6, 2017 Share September 6, 2017 I kept expecting the SOK to at least try to do something with all the liquid souls rattling about in the van. 1 Link to comment
ItCouldBeWorse September 6, 2017 Share September 6, 2017 If Eugene was able to escape his hell by accepting that he was not responsible for what he was being forced to repeatedly view, was Hitler able to escape because he has absolved himself of all responsibility for his own actions? 1 Link to comment
TigerLynx September 7, 2017 Share September 7, 2017 (edited) Hitler was blaming everyone else right to the very end, then took the coward's way out by committing suicide, so taking no responsibility in Hell is right up his alley. If I were Tulip or Cassidy, I would have already said bye to Jesse, left New Orleans, and gone to the beach, casinos, whatever. The quest to find God has gone nowhere, Jesse keeps failing to tell them pertinent information, he gets them excited about going to Bihimi and then changes his mind. I understand Tulip not wanting the SOK to kill Jesse and Cassidy, but her trying to tackle the guy was funny. Edited September 7, 2017 by TigerLynx 1 Link to comment
