I don't remember who has been the point girl each year during the run of this show (that would be an interesting trivia question - who can list the point girl each year from season 1?) But it seems to me that in addition to being one of the best performers, the point girl also has to be very photogenic, since she is often the most visible person during performances. Jen Amburn is very pretty, but I wouldn't consider her one of the more photogenic members of the team.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but for the run of the show, it think it's been Holly, Mia, Whitney I, Crystal Trevino, Nicole Hamilton, Megan Fox, and not sure who before Megan? Megan's rookie season was either the 2 hour special or season 1? so there had to be one on the show before her.

So wait, if Rachel, Paige and Ashley are all retiring/leaving the team this year, does that mean Jinelle and Jennifer are the only girls going into their fourth year??  It seems like there used to be a lot more girls who continued to a fourth year anyway but maybe I am remembering wrong (very possible lol)

I can see Erica as point. Also Jennifer Kathryne is a really dynamic and dependable dancer... I know some ppl here don't like her because she seems to be teachers pet or whatever, or that she was too honest when describing show group and that it seemed snotty, but that doesn't R mean she wouldn't be a great point person. So those two are my pics.

I can see Erica there, too. She's more 'glam' pretty than cute little Jenna or girl next door Jennifer, and Erica is very technical. It will be interesting to see who they pick for sure. Erica comes off as slight ditzy though. Not sure if we heard holly speak three words, so that may not matter.

Isn't Erica short too?? I thought she was across from Jenna in the triangle?? If Jenna doesn't get it for height I can't see Erica either.  And I say that as a huge Erica fan, she is probably my VERY favorite out of all the DCCs.  I don't think she is ditzy at all -  I think she is just a fun personality and really silly, like KaShara.  

 

I still think it will be Jenny Kat.  She is already such a leader on the team and I honestly love watching her perform. I will be surprised if it's not her!

I cannot picture Danielle being point girl. She is a good dancer, but there are others girls on the team who are better dancers.

If Jacie is retiring and Jennifer gets point, I think that should move Erica and Jenna up behind her (where Jacie and Jennifer currently are).  If I am remembering correctly, anyway... 

 

What about Melissa? Not sure where she currently is but IF she stays I would think she'd be close to the front with how talented she is.

I think to be the point person you got to have those long legs that Judy and Kelli love....PLUS be the best spokesperson. Jennifer is a great spokesperson but she has short legs, that has just been my observation of who makes a great point person.....long legs

I've never noticed that Jenn K. has short legs - and I usually always notice short legs (they are a major pet peeve of mine on dancers). Only one w/ short legs on the squad right now that I can think of is Amy T. Just cause someone is shorter doesn't necessarily mean they have short legs - I think Erica and Jenna's legs, while not long, certainly aren't unproportionally short. Same thing w/ Jenn K.

Cassie had really short legs - but I guess she got an exception.

I am betting the triangle this year will be Jennifer at point, then Erica and Megan C on her sides. Then the next year Megan C being the point (if not sooner). Melissa is an amazing technical dancer but not a dynamic enough performer. I don't really see Jenna as technical or dynamic enough to be in the triangle, although she's not bad at either. third line back after the triangle could easily be Caila, holly, Jenna, Keshara...

I thought they loved Melissa's performance? The year she auditioned they went on and on about how she had all the P's and could step in with the veterans, etc.  I think the only thing from keeping Melissa near the front this year is if she retires lol

Cassie was never point. She may have been 'group point' in group formations bc she was a group leader, but she was never point. I don't think she was ever even the '2nd point' like Jacie and Lauren Williams, the other girl who is next to point when formations aren't pointy and more flat, and 'point' in sections of some long performances like the BCA and Halloween shows.

Sorry guys. Lol. I didn't really mean to imply Cassie was point, as in point in the thunderstruck triangle (to me the definition of "point"), but when I go back and read my post I see that what I said definitely sounds that I meant that.

I just meant that she was highly featured and in the front of a lot of stuff - in spite of having what I consider very short legs ;).

I'm pretty sad that Jacie and Kinzie might be retiring. I know DCC doesn't last forever and it's hard on your body but those two are the epitome of a DCC , I'm still hoping it's not true even though I know it probably is

Jacie is not official yet, as far as I see.  Kinzie putting DCC 2012-2016 is pretty clear though. :(

Danielle confirmed on IG she is definitely trying out again this year!! Maybe she already did somewhere else but I was glad to see it :-D  She also had a clip yesterday or the day before of her dancing with her group before a game and she really is so much fun to watch! Bet she is a Group Leader for sure this year!

On a different note, I kind of wonder is Amy T is done after this year... in her IG blurb she has 2015-2016 near Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.  I really thought she would do at least two years so maybe I am misunderstanding how she worded it.

Hm, that's a good point, she may just be taking it year by year lol  I do wonder if it's career related though - it's so demanding. 

 

I don't know if Amy T has had a lot of weight issues but her body type just doesn't lend itself well to those shorts :-P

yay to Danielle trying out.  She has a very unique look that makes her DCC gorgeous but in a special / different way.  I wonder if Holly P. or Melissa or Megan will try out again.  Those 3 are the "real" dancers of the group.

 

I liked Kat but I don't think she's that great ... I know Keli loves how she takes in corrections but she still doesn't seem very DCC.  Sigh - with this group of veterans retiring, there doesn't seem to be a lot of "wow" girls left.  Remember the days of Brittany Schram, Whitney Islieb, MacKenzie Lee, and Jackie Bob?

Don't know why, but I just never really cared for her. She came off to me a bit as entitled to being a DCC. Yes, she's a great dancer, but I just didn't like her very much. :(

I'm not a holly p fan either - she comes across as fake to me and seems to have an attitude that the DCC should be grateful that she'd grace them w/ her presence. I also think she'd dump them in a heartbeat if a better dance opportunity came along - wouldn't care at all if it was midseason and she was a GL either. Like not a team player type of girl IMO.

That said, I still felt bad for her when someone was saying she accidentally sent a vent text meant for her mom to the entire squad. Guess if she's trying out again the incident either wasn't that big of a deal or exaggerated/a myth.

I am a Holly fan and I love that she has worked and continues to work really hard on her physique and technique.  I agree she can come off entitled, etc. but I am going to give her a pass this year for being young and maybe not as mature.  I forget she's only 18 and lived in somewhat of a bubble. It's a learning experience sometime to figure out how to deal with people and realize how you can come across.  The DCC is fortunate that most of the young girls they get (like Kinzie, Jenna, etc.) are already really mature - that is not always how it goes.  Anyway, she seems to be getting a long better with the other girls so hopefully that text thing wasn't a huge issue.  

 

I LOVE Lacey - I think she is one of the most underrated on the squad - really wish she was featured more! Caila has also really grown on me.  She works SO hard and seems like such a wonderful teammate. I will be thrilled if down the road she gets assistant GL or something, after they weren't even ready to let her perform the first game her rookie year.

Can I ask why everyone usually discounts Melissa for being right behind point? She's an amazing dancer, and got one of the two coveted open/close spots at finals last year. Kelli said she was the "Emmitt Smith" of dancing. So why isn't she mentioned for taking a prime dance spot on the squad?  Yes, her body isn't the typical hourglass, etc. But she isn't dumpy or unattractive.

Just wondering, cause I think she'll take a key spot.
