Kelli is the one who auditioned something like 7 times? This time she made it through and made show group. She is really good and has insane 8 pack abs.

7 times?  that's crazy ... and I wonder what changed for her that they finally noticed her, put her on the team AND on show group?

Hate Paige's shoes ... don't know why women wear the bulky platform heels ... yes high heels are sexy but the platforms cheapen the look .

I agree that the shoes were the wrong note in an outfit that was otherwise right for her (she can pull of the tight, micro-mini).  What is more, the platform heel is an "out" and has been for a few seasons now.

I'd be a damn liar if I said Tasha didn't look freaking GORG in that pic. I can't get behind her personally (Maggiano's is your FAVORITE Dallas restaurant?!?!) but she ain't ugly, that's for sure!

I'm dying laughing..... Of all the amazing Dallas restaurants, she picks Maggianos.  DYING

That pic of Yuko with Dak....wonder if Jenna got to take any pics with her not-so-secret lovah or if they had to pretend they didn't know each other the whole night on principle, and then rendezvous later for hot, steamy secret passion. I'll lay off the Harlequin Romance novellas.

I'll just say it. I think it's freaking creepy for a grown woman to bring her daddy as her date to ANYTHING. Also calling him "daddy". Eek. Gives me the willies.

I bring my dad to my work picnic because he loves the food at the place we go lol I think it's cute that the girls take their dads. They obviously all probably love football and it's a great way to make them happy since they get to be around the team.

Just now, QuiteContraryMoni said:

And you wear what? Jeans and a tee or a sundress and sandals right? THAT'S cute. Bringing Dad to a work picnic doesn't smack of the same stuff as wearing a dress ya need two haircuts for, six inch heels, a pound of makeup and giant hair to go out with Daddy. Can't help it. Gives me the heebie jeebies.

Me in a sundress? No way lol it's usually in June so I'm wearing either capris or shorts

Scrolling thru Yuko's twitter and see she made a solo visit to an elementary school to visit with some Japanese students feeling homesick...so precious! i love that she is able to do something like that.

I wonder if she'll stay or retire. Homesickness could be the deciding factor.

That is not Yuko in the photo with Dak.

I don't even see a photo of Dak?

I don't see Holly or a couple other people in either the hospital or the party pics. Did some people go home with the longer break?

She along with a few others were a part of the radio show held with some players as well. Pics on the DCC twitter.

Never been ... is that not a good restaurant?  Never heard of it

I think it's fine  - been to one in Nashville and Atlanta , but it's a chain. Most people, I assume, don't name a chain restaurant when they're asked for their favorite [insert city] restaurant, unless the chain started in their city and is famous for it. With that said, I don't know where Maggianos first location was.

It’s a chain restaurant...and not great in comparison to the amazing food Dallas has (I’ve been a few times and yum).

That is definitely not Daddy in the picture with Jessica Marie.  Nice!  Jessica is TINY.  I think they say she is 5’2” but I think she might be 5’ even.

Sooo I'm on Instagram and Jenna's uploaded a video of the DCC visit to the children's hospital. In the video Jenna says something like 'I know how important these visits are because I was in hospital when I was little with appendicitis'. While I know first hand how horrific your appendix rupturing can be and think she seems like a sweet girl, a little part of me is like GURRRRL did you really just compare APPENDICITIS to little children who cannot walk and are confined to wheelchairs?! Jesus Christ ?

Maybe I'm just in a good mood for the holidays but Jenna's comment as described doesn't annoy me all that much. I haven't watched the video, and they may have been at hospital that specializes in certain serious/deadly/non-curable conditions, but at a general childrens hospital, there are kids there may well be recovering from things like appendicitis, car wrecks, athletic injuries, who Jenna probably  could relate too. Hell, I have a family member who nearly died and was in the hospital for months due to his appendix completely rupturing, so I don't know. Tone death perhaps  but seems harmless enough.

I don't think that girl looks like Yuko, but her lipstick is perfection.

Can anyone point me to the unpopular opinions thread today? I'll get shit for this too, but I TOTALLY agree. I mean, it's like saying "My landlord sold the house I'm renting so I have to find a new place within two months. I TOTALLY get how the Jews must have felt in the Krakow raid". I always bristle at shit like this. On one hand, I know the person is just trying to connect, and they truly mean well usually so I don't want to be too hard on them. But when you're dealing with cancer, rape, abuse, abject poverty, or really anything that can potentially scar someone for life, or kill them (yes, yes, I know, a ruptured appendix can be deadly. And she's also scarred for life. But you know what I mean), just refrain from saying "I know how you feel". Because really, you don't.

YASSS! I agree! Jenna can dance, but she annoys the crap out of me. She comes off as more vapid and self absorbed than Sydney ever did. At least Sydney has some business hustle and a lot of her self promotion was for her brand.

The food is served family style. It's very very blah. The food isn't horrible, but it's not what I'd call incredible Italian food. There are some really great local restaurants in Dallas. She must not get out much.

SO WITH YOU!!  I have a friend who constantly compares herself to homeless people or say that she's a step away ... when in actual, despite her lower paying job, she owns her own apartment w/ no mortgage (daddy bought) so she actually cannot be homeless and she has a trust fund.  It's annoying as sht and I get SO MAD whenever she does that.  I don't know if she truly believes it (in which case this self-pitying, martyr bullsht is just annoying) or if she's exaggerating for fun.

Re NotYuko: Well cripes. I gotta get myself some specs! I've turned into Mister Magoo!!

I'm sorry to say, I agree completely. I have tried to be forgiving because she does seem sweet. But the number of selfies and the increasingly vapid remarks are making me do a hard eye roll in her general direction.

she does seem sweet ... I just think maybe she's not the sharpest tool in shed and still very young (so she doesn't yet know what's appropriate vs. not).  It's why I adore Jenn!  She's an adult with an adult brain!

Maybe it's near her house? And with a young daughter that's the only place she and her husband get to frequent due to babysitters/money/time? (Or she just has unexciting tastes. I'm not from Texas so I've never of this place, btw. Just food for thought)

I have two kids under age 4 and even I can manage something better than Maggianos as my favorite restaurant. Tasha doesn't seem to be hurting for money. Look,  her favorite restaurant can be Whataburger for all I care, just for some reason her Maggianos restaurant struck me as hysterical. I may be crazy. ?

I think what she was probably going for was, ‘I was in the hospital when I was a child and I know how scary it is’ but since she didn’t mention a qualifier like I only had a burst appendix, it doesn’t read well.  Happy Friday!!!!

I like where your head's at, but honestly, Dallas has very little besides eating and shopping. It's what we do.

I just can't imagine a DCC grubbing down on all of those deliciously fatty Maggiano's. I haven't been in a few years, but I do recall always leaving in a food coma.

 Some other notes:

1: it looks like they went to a few hospitals (I noticed Scottish Rite, Medical City and Cook's off the top of my head) so they likely had encounters with all sorts of children. Scottish Rite in particular has a kickass prosthesis area, and as others have said, some of these other kids could have cancer but could also just be there from a car accident. Jenna has a very visible scar and it was probably awesome for kids to see her happy and healthy. I get that she can relate, especially if she did her hospital time during the holidays. She gets how scary it can be.

2: Yay Scottish Rite! If I remember correctly, Melissa has been interning there all year. Could be awkward to show up to work in your sparkly underwear, but still cool. Such a great organization - I did some work with them during grad school.

3: The gal with the short, full skirt and blonde hair is the gal who had her own dance studio on the west coast and moved to Dallas with her long term boyfriend. Former Raiderette, I think? She's also on show group. I think her name is Mandy. She's older, so darn pretty, one of the few blondes and I can't remember her damn name.

Sounds like I need to move to Dallas!!!! ??

Not that I'm planning any trips since I've got a bun in the oven, but if I end up in Texas I'll definitely get my restaurant recommendations from you ladies as opposed to the DCCs! ?

Also, I just went to Cheesecake Factory Friday BECAUSE of this entire conversation LOL!

That list made me laugh so hard! I used to work a TGI Fridays, and believe me when I say my soul had not yet become whole again. It's not the food or drinks that are bad, they're decent for a chain. It's the whole ITS FRIDAY EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK WOOOOOOO!!!! attitude I had to plaster on my face everyday when in reality I was thinking "it's effing Tuesday night, let's call a spade a spade".

I read recently that TGI Fridays employees used to have to wear flair but the chain did away with it after Office Space made fun of it (not the point of your post).  The “mentality” of the workers is what made think of what you wrote.  Ha!  Now THAT would be a great book!

  • Love 1

Luckily I never had to wear flair, but they would occasionally come out with special buttons for holidays, new menu items etc. We had one guy who as a joke wore 25 pieces of flair everyday, and probably made great money off the joke.  We did have to design the back of our uniform shirt with something to represent ourselves (most people wrote their name is a pretty font or made it look like a baseball jersey, etc). My sarcastic ass wrote "that's what she said" on one, and (since I was a bartender) "I'm not good at advice. May I interest you in a sarcastic comment?" on the other. I should write a book, thought I wouldn't limit it to my Fridays experience, most of my great stories come from working at the Elk's Lodge.

Aaaaand, now back to DCC land! (sorry mods!!) Cowboys hit a skid yesterday, and although I'm a Chiefs fan I'm still hoping they make the playoffs so the gals can perform a few extra games. Pro Bowl girl is chosen this Sunday, right? Did we ever discover how that honor was bestowed?

Oh! Jenna, you're beautiful, tiny and adorable. Why are you wearing a wedding dress to a holiday party?!? That dress would have been a knockout in silver, black, gold sparkles, red....any color but white.

Danielle, you look fantastic. Girl Crush!!

Still don't know who I want to be PBC, though I think it will be Jen based on them needing to be a representation of the squad and let's face it, girl could run for public office with her presence. Danielle is pretty and likeable, but to me always been a so-so dancer and Jenna still looks 12 so she'd probably have to fight for her way into clubs and bars in Orlando.
