mad_typist February 5, 2014 Share February 5, 2014 Seriously, this was the best episode yet. I loved Marc Evan Jackson as Kevin Cozner. I appreciated that the show didn't write a stereotypical raging queen to play against Holt, and I also appreciated that there wasn't ONE joke that revolved around their sexuality. The only time Holt's gayness was discussed, it was given serious respect as a legitimate motivation for Kevin's dislike of Holt's co-workers. That aside, this episode had me rolling on the floor at so many great moments. While Chelsea Perriti is fairly one note (she exists as the "Wild card, bitches!" character), her line reading of "I'd be the perfect American president, based on my skill set, dance ability and blood lust" was simply divine. I also loved the scene where she attracted an ever growing horde of psychiatrists with her demented statements. I also loved the shot of Terry Crews looking mortified while cuddling Cheddar, the world cutest (and fattest) corgi. 11 Link to comment
formerlyfreedom February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 (edited) This show just keeps getting better and better; loved that Holt made Cozner invite the crew, and their fight in the bedroom was awesome. They are really doing a good job of balancing the crazy of Andy Samberg with all the rest of the characters - every single one of them has taken a turn as my VIP of at least one episode. I also loved the shot of Terry Crews looking mortified while cuddling Cheddar, the world cutest (and fattest) corgi. ...and Terry Crews wins almost every time... Edna Crandall February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 Agree this was the best one yet. It was really sweet and also really funny. Terry telling them not to walk like gazelles, so good. 1 Link to comment

I was tempted to just post all the lines I loved in this one, but then I realized I'd just end up transcribing 90% of the script. So many great lines. 3 Link to comment
nymusix February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 I love the continuing implication that everyone seems to find Captain Holt funny except for us (and the rest of the cast). Great running gag. Link to comment
Tara Ariano February 18, 2014 Share February 18, 2014 I like that "Kevin Cozner" carries on the tradition of silly names as established on Parks & Rec and 30 Rock. 1 Link to comment
TravisNelson76 February 18, 2014 Share February 18, 2014 If they were going with "funny Kevins," though, I think Federline would have been the proper choice. Funny Kevin Rankings [top to bottom]: Federline, Bacon, Kline, Costner, Garnett, Spacey, McHale... James. James WAY at the bottom. Link to comment
Sheena February 19, 2014 Share February 19, 2014 Very enjoyable- I don't know exactly why, but Holt's "This isn't ours" comment regarding the stolen clock was, to me, the funniest line of the episode. They are really doing a good job of balancing the crazy of Andy Samberg with all the rest of the characters - every single one of them has taken a turn as my VIP of at least one episode. Agreed! thuganomics85 March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 I think I've re-watched this episode almost five times (which is rare for me on any show), and it still holds up as one of my favorites. The entire ensemble was great in this, but this really was a shining moment for Terry. I loved how he was trying to be the sane one, who had to keep everyone else in line. I can think of three lines that still pop up in my head randomly and make me laugh: "You're not gazelles!" "Quit eating crab wrong!", and "Keep it in you pants, Santiago!" And then his "Oh, come on!" reaction to Jake and Amy sneaking into Holt's room. I also loved Jake and Amy both being so obsessed with impressing Kevin and Holt, that they got themselves and Terry kicked out. The scene of Holt discovering them in the bathroom, with Jake holding a towel over Amy's mouth, while a stunned Terry is holding Cheddar (an adorable looking dog, which just makes the scene), is still one of my favorite sight gags. 4 Link to comment
mnementh March 30, 2014 Share March 30, 2014 Terry was pure gold throughout this episode. "Stop eating crab wrong!" will never not be funny. It pops into my head at random times and I laugh out loud each time. Which is sometimes weird when I'm by myself at work. (I don't eat seafood, so I have no idea what the right and wrong way to eat crab even is. It's still funny.) 1 Link to comment
Danny Franks March 30, 2014 Share March 30, 2014 Love the "samesies" moment, where the squad shared that little moment of happy camaraderie that they'd all bought the exact same bottle of $8 wine drink. It's beats like that which make the show really strike a chord, I think. Too many sitcoms now seem to require a degree of malice to exist between the characters, as a source of comedy. This one doesn't. The entire storyline was predicated on different characters wanting to strengthen or maintain relationships as well. Terry trying to ensure no one fouled up and ruined Holt's party, Jake trying to befriend Kevin, Amy trying to further establish credentials as Holt's protege. Even Rosa spent her time at the party making sure that Gina was accepted, and then sat back and grinned about it. This would be such a great introductory episode for someone new to the show. It has a bit of everything, covers the basics of all of the characters well, and continues established dynamics. Also, it's really bloody funny. 2 Link to comment
Inquisitionist April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 Excellent episode. For me, it was almost on par with Hard Ball from the first season of 30 Rock, which remains my all-time favorite sitcom episode. Link to comment
Tabbyclaw July 8, 2014 Share July 8, 2014 I love the continuing implication that everyone seems to find Captain Holt funny except for us (and the rest of the cast). Great running gag. I'm never sure if the joke is supposed to be that we and the precinct are the odd ones, or that Captain Holt is the odd one and he's really good at finding other odd ones. Link to comment
Rinaldo July 9, 2014 Share July 9, 2014 I think it's good that it leaves us uncertain like that, and we just have to go with it. Link to comment
thuganomics85 July 9, 2014 Share July 9, 2014 Still my favorite. And, so re-watchable. Since I've seen it so many times now, I now always try to catch I missed in earlier viewings, which is always fun. But this really might be one of my favorite episodes of any sitcom ever. 2 Link to comment
Rinaldo July 10, 2014 Share July 10, 2014 For me too, I think, @thuganomics85 . I was anticipating this episode a lot in advance (because we'd see Holt off duty, including meeting his husband), and then it so far surpassed my expectations, I couldn't believe it. Link to comment
Vikitty July 20, 2014 Share July 20, 2014 The scene with Gina and the psychiatrists slayed me. "I feel like I'm the Paris of people." Link to comment
amensisterfriend October 8, 2014 Share October 8, 2014 This is one of my favorite episodes of any sitcom ever. I seriously think it's just about perfect. I even find Gina amusing in this one, which is no easy feat :) 3 Link to comment
