Thanks!. It went well, but there is so much hype for the event with the hair & make up & the corsages & the shoes. Why would anyone wear 4 inch heels? Makes no sense to me.

I hope you got great pictures!  I get that teenagers like the four-inch heels -- they look dramatic and teens don't need the same recovery time as the 40-year-olds we frequently see wearing them.  Now I'm thinking of the recent French tree planting and the two First Ladies trying not to let their spike heels sink into to grass.

Oh good, they are going back to the castle on the show -- I did not get to see the first hour.

Nicolle has been on the verge of laughter the whole morning, and now can't stop laughing, although I don't think we know the reason.

Stephanie Ruhle is at Windsor Catsle and apparently did research in a year-old People Magazine issue for the old news she is providing.  The Queen's Corgis like Meghan.  Princess Diana will not be at the wedding. The Queen had to approve the wedding.

Even though I don't watch anymore, I will catch snippets while at the gym.

Just want to thank Oakville for keeping the recaps going (sometimes I need to read them to understand what the hell just happened).

Seems Donnie has been elevated to Cohen's press secretary.

Dominic Chu just said that Cambridge Analytica said they lost all their clients becuase of negative media coverage.  I say 2 things:

1.  Boo Frickin' Hoo

2.  You lie down with dogs, you get dirty...

YES!  I don't know if I like it or not that he is buds with Cohen. (see #2 above)

Mika said Porn Star 30 times. She said no one cares about Trump's cheap disgusting affair with a porn star. C'mon Mika , you shouldn't throw stones when living in a glass house.

Many/Most Porn stars manage their rising careers, market themselves, treat their privates as a marketable commodity.  They Know their Value, they just base their value on a different aspect of themselves other than their smarts.  Mika everyday says PORNSTAR over and over and I don't think it's for the shock value. She refuses to say "Adult Film Star" or "Sex Worker."  You gotta go with what you have.

I don't get these people saying "the base won't support Mueller".  WTF does that even mean? This isn't American Idol.  The public isn't going to vote at the end of the investigation on whether we accept it or not.    Hugh Hewitt was saying the same thing last night on MTP Daily, and I thought Charlie Sikes was going to come over the desk and punch him.

FFS, Pat Buchanan still doesn't think Nixon did anything wrong, that Mark Felt was the traitor. NO ONE CARES.

And this "you can't indict a sitting President" bullshit. Yeah well neither Nixon or Clinton committed treason.

If you think this is crazy, Oakville, wait'll she gets married!

And speaking of hype, is there a drinking game yet for every time Donnie mentions talking to Michael Cohen?

Why does Donnie think it's cool to know Michael Cohen?

Donnie, cool is Barack & Michelle Obama, getting a cameo in a Star Wars movie, starting a charity to bring clean water and medical supplies to African villages, not being acquainted with a fucking low life half wit who can't even half way cover up the crimes he's committed.

Michael Cohen makes Fredo Corleone look like Albert Einstein.

The energy this morning was fantastic.  Everyone was genuinely laughing because funny things were said by funny people free to have fun.  Imagine that.  They all made fun of Donnie's dumb comment about royal weddings.  Stephanie did say that Diana wouldn't be at the wedding, but it was a clunky segue into describing the Prince's issues surrounding the loss of his mom.
Susan Del Percio couldn't stop giggling.  She's so serious, she doesn't seem like a giggler.  Meachem said a few genuinely hilarious things making fun of Trump.  Fun show.

Such a good show; did they repeat the early hour at 8:00?  I didn't see the first hour.  No bloviating, no preening, no squinty eyes...just media people around the table, discussing events of the day and having a little fun.  Does Meeka talk about the royal wedding?  I don't know if that is included in her pop culture ban or all things she considers "fluffy" and turns her nose up at.

I enjoyed Stephanie Ruhle reporting from England; but she seemed to be a bit jet lagged.  She looked like anyone would when they have spent maybe hours on a plane; she looked attractive but didn't sport the usual anchor-woman makeup.  Refreshing.  Nicole was refreshing.  John Meecham was allowed to speak complete sentences without being interrupted.  No one seemed salivating for a scoop; no one looked like they had practiced in the mirror for their scoop.  Why can't we have something like this every day.  As usual, I don't think Meeka worked five days in a row.  Neither did Joe; I guess he was exhausted from actually being in the studio for a few days.

If someone wanted to make morning-show history, they could cut-off Joe's mic when he teleports in from his various locations.  Maybe a crew person who has won the lottery; or it is his last day before his/her retirement.

I don't even think unfortunately helps.  Maybe "it's such a shame Diana isn't here to see Harry get married"

But Diana will not be at the wedding sounds like she's out of town.

You don't have to pay me.   Knowing Mika reads her notifications tweets and it drives her crazy is enough.

"Great show today Great conversations laughs, Nicole & Willie did such a good job, you & Joe should take off more often! The guests were probably happy not being interrupted continuously or being scolded because they talk about tv & sports seeing as how you're such an intellectual"

Nicole would be great hosting this. She has political experience, so she has the contacts, she's funny, she is happy to hear both sides of an issue without blowing a gasket.

I agree.  And she has an ease that is well suited to the early morning, without being ditzy.

I'm glad she hosted this morning, because it looks like we will not see her on her own show -- Brian Williams has commandeered the control panel because of the latest school tragedy.  Frankly, the perspective of a host (Nicolle Wallace) with small children would be a voice worth hearing on a day when parents wonder whose school will be next.  Not veering into that topic, just being glad we got to hear Nicolle on Morning Joe, and in such good spirits.  I remember the last time she co-hosted (about a month ago), she started MJ by choking out: "it's. so. early. I. forgot. how. early. this. is."  So, maybe a morning show is not her dream job at this point.

Brian always covers breaking news, that's part of his gig when they go wall to wall like that.

Maybe he'll have Nicolle, if they don't take up too much time with the usual guests after yet another school shooting.

I take it back, Nicolle is on her show as usual, but a very different and serious Nicolle.  I am glad I was wrong about who would be hosting her hour.

She did note at one informal point that she had been there all day, but not in a complaining way.  This is another good example of why she would be good on a Morning Joe replacement show; she has genuine empathy and ability to hear the reactions of the people she is talking to -- these days, I feel like the regular MJ hosts are trying to make their own points rather than be a conduit for their guests.

I have to go back & read my recaps of Cackles Wallace when she was a regular guest on Morning Joe during the GOP & Democratic primaries in 2015 & 2016. I do not recall her challenging Trump seriously. She tried to ingratiate herself with Trump during his daily "phone ins" by saying that her family were big Trump supporters. Trump loved that & said her parents were great. I am pretty sure that she supported Jeb Bush during this period. She had enough political knowledge at the time to go after Trump for his stupid comments yet chose not too. Why?

Cackles could have taken a much tougher stance against Trump during the primaries. She did not have a full time job on MSNBC. Did she put her personal career aspirations ahead of her country? I suspect she became a "Never Trumper" because it offered a lucrative job.

She had been fired from the View the year before, so perhaps she was desperate to stay in Joe's good graces during the primaries?.

I think Cackles Wallace is a mercenary. She could find a rationale to support any candidate as long as she was paid.

I admire her "anti Trumpism" now, but she should have done this while she had a platform on Morning Joe from June 2015-May 2016.

The Oakville police showed up at  1 a.m at one the after parties she attended. There were 300 people at the house. The police told them about a noise complaint & found out that some of the kids were drinking alcohol. No arrests, but the kids were told to dump their alcohol & not shout profanities loudly while outside. The party broke up after that. She is OK but is tired.

SNL had a Morning Joe segment.  It is so spot-on in its mockery, I can't imagine that Mika and Joe believe they really come across like they are portrayed.  If only they had shown Joe as an inset window.

Then Monday may be your day my friend as I would think Meeka Mouse isn't going to be very pleased with the SNL sketch.  I'll be very interested to see if they address it at all and whether Meeks takes note and stops that muttering under her breath among other things.  And top marks for Tina Fey.  Only she could blow Kate off the screen in just a couple of sentences.  Really funny sketch and well placed in the middle of the show as they probably thought (as did I) that they were home free for the show!

Mika started playing a game called "Peek a Boo" which turned into "Pick a Boob" as she thrust her chest into Joe's face on the SNL skit.

I suspect Mika & Joe will have to delay the wedding again.

Morning Joe has been on the air since 2007. It is the 3rd time this season that it has been parodied. Joe complained about the second parody & thi parody is even more savage.

I thought Joe had the power to block any negative parodies on SNL. He said it hurt his family. I think the "powers at NBC" aren't as enamored with King Joe & Queen Mika.

I wouldn't be shocked if MSNBC keeps testing other combos like Willie & Cackles or Willie & KCDC as possible replacements.

If the ratings are the same with cheaper staff, why put up with Mika & Joe's frequent absences & on air antics.

I don't really think it's that potentially harmful or indicative of the powers that be having a beef with them. How many morning news personalities are part of popular culture like Joe and Mika? Plus, SNL isn't going after Joe and Mika for anything that would really hurt their brand/the Morning Joe brand. What I mean is, making fun of Joe's bloviating, Mika's muttering, and the weird sexual tension is an easy target that isn't too damning or damaging when they could go after much tougher subjects.

I'd never watch Willie in the morning. He has less personality than matzo.

Yes I would imagine after this weekend they have the sadz.  First the wedding and then the unexpected gut punch of the SNL skit.  I predict separate bunkers tomorrow morning.

As for Joe having the power to stop something like this, after many, many major anchors getting bounced and their ratings holding or even getting better I think whatever pal power he had with Griffin has been diminished.  I would think at this stage he would be glad to have two people that show up to work on a consistent basis, are prepared to do their job and don't have "those days" when they make it look like they are making a hostage video.

Seriously, is there any other show on MSNBC (or even other networks) that regularly have the host off-site and inserted into the on-air panels via inset window?  I'm sure Brian Williams would be happy to be in the Hamptons hosting, but I can't imagine that TPTB would put up with it unless there were a hurricane.   And in a hurricane, Brian would want to be on set for all the shows as the anchor of doom, which he has refined as a special skill.

Mika & Joe were able to avoid being parodied by NBC after the Daily Show takedown in 2014. Why were they parodied 3 times this season despite Joe saying it made his kids feel uncomfortable. Doesn't SNL realize that Joe is so powerful that he doesn't even have to be on set for his show anymore? SNL used to parody Chris Matthews many years ago, but I thought Mika & Joe would be off limits given's Joe's friendship with the President of MSNBC, Phil  Griffin. Mika & Joe bragged a few years ago that they were able to get rid of MSNBC personalities they disliked & replace them with "our people" like Chuck Todd, KCDC, & Andrea Mitchell. I recapped that show. It was hilarious because Andrea has been at MSNBC for many years before Scarborough showed up at the network. Joe hated Keith Olbermann, Shuster , Ed Shultz. Joe blasted O Donnell for making fun of Trump in 2015. He ended up having to apologize to Joe on air for not realizing that Trump made a lot of money from the Apprentice.

Perhaps, Joe convinced MSNBC to air his wedding with Mika. It would be Pensacola's most infamous congressman with Queen Mika, who is descendant from  prominent Polish & Czech families. There would be farm animals in the wedding procession.

Joe complained about the previous SNL skit which he said affected his kids. Joe's first & second wives  are still alive. The second skit alluded to Mika & Joe kissing , but this skit alluded to Joe being excited about Mika's breasts with the "Peek A Boob joke" It's not cool to have her dad being portrayed as a sex crazed host of cable tv show.

I've just about had it with broadcasting from the bunker - if either of these ungrateful doofuses deign to appear at all.  Why can't TPTB give this show to somebody who cares enough to actually show up for the job already?  I'd love to see Nicolle and Kaisie at the helm.  Kaisie has the serious political journalism chops and Nicolle has lots on inside track experience, plus she's got a genuine sense of humor.  And I doubt that either of them would leave their spouses for each other.

He is just so gross.  Mika's face when he mentioned her walking around the home in New Canaan . . . I thought her eyes were going to fly out of her head.  During Joe's teasing Meacham about the parade they threw for his birthday, Meacham asked if they handed out martinis and Mika said no but she had plenty of coffee for those that got bored.  Hey, this sounds just like an SNL skit!
