Andrew Ross Sorkin was in Davos. I guess he's going to surprise us with stuff billionaires talk about. Price of yacht fuel, what angle you hold your arm for various types of salutes that were around in the 30s and 40s (cough cough).

Mika & Joe admitted to being frequent guests on Senator Mancin's yacht. Mika was sad when he announced that he was leaving politics. There are rumours about Mika & Joe appearing on Below Deck as guests. Joe would be a fun guest telling the Captain how to steer the boat. Mika would criticize the chef for not offering Gluten free food.

Mika is wearing a blue overcoat & a scarf in the Florida studio. Joe refused to pay for heating.

The new motto at Morning Joe is signal vs noise. Joe will no longer fall for every shocking tweet that Trump writes.

Mika made fun of the Philadelphia mayor for misspelling the word Eagles.

The panel is upset at Mayor Adams meeting with Trump at Mar A largo. He wants a pardon.Adams is popular with black males.

Mika struggled to read the TelePrompter. She couldn't pronounce undocumented immigrants.

Mika is wearing a green bathrobe today. She is happy that it is Friday. Joe is prepared to read several articles from the Wall Street Journal.

It's a Brady Bunch box Friday with Ali Vitali, Sam Stein & Jacky Allemany. She wears a red top with dragons to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Joe is mad at Trump cutting Secret Service protection for John Bolton & Mike Pompeo. Iran could kill them.

Pompeo & Bolton criticized Trump over the past few years.

Mika was happy that Collins & Murkowski are voting against Hegseth.

I saw on Mediaite that Lemire got scolded by Rahm Emanuel this morning.

Emanuel called Hegseth an alcoholic, and Lemire said "we should note he denied the allegation".

Well that clears it all up.  If Pete said it, it must be true. Right?

Hey Pete!  You wanna drink til you're lying in your own shit in a gutter, go for it.

Just don't apply for the position of being in charge of four branches of the military, and having the highest security clearance issued by the US Gov't.

Stay on Fox and Friends weekends and throw axes at unsuspecting guests. Get dragged out of strip clubs drunk off your ass. Scam a veterans' charity.

Thank God there are still a few people on MSNBC programs who haven't turned into sniveling cowards, pissing down their leg in fear of retribution if someone makes a true statement about the shit show going on in DC.

Yes!! Someone I dearly love recently joined the Air Force and I deeply worry about his safety...and not necessarily from outside forces.

Again...WHY are Joe and Mika still on the Air? Put Michael Steele on instead...he has proven he won't be cowed.

Rachel is back, too and she is firing on all cylinders.  It's a joy to watch her show, she just lays out what happens, shames the parties involved, and says it's more important this time to do this because Trump doesn't have career people trying to keep him in line, he has people who have given him all the ammunition he needs to carry out their fucked up ideas.

Rachel and The Daily Show have been my salvation. Speaking truth to power whether seriously or with humor. Either way, it's better than whatever the fuck JoMika are doing.

Mika hated the movie Wedding Crashers. Mika likes Amadeus.

Mika bragged about insulting Bradley Cooper for his role in the critically acclaimed Hangover movie.

Rahm Emmanuel is opposed to a tariff war with Canada. It will raise gas prices.

Rahm called Sec Pete an alcoholic. He shouldn't operate a Nuclear Aircraft carrier if he has a drinking problem.

Lemire said Pete denied the allegation that he is an alcoholic.

Emmanuel said it is a stressful job, so he could start drinking alcohol again.

Emmanuel is a feisty guest

Emmanuel said Democrats are brain dead. They should not focus on Demographics is Destiny.

Emmanuel said Clinton ran on extra 100K police officers.

Obama ran to become deporter in chief. I doubt Emmanuel is right about that.

Emmanuel is against defunding the police

Emmanuel said it was stupid to close schools & places of worship during CoVID. His brother would disagree with that.

Mika started moaning. Joe was very quiet during the interview.

Here is a clip from 2010 of Joe criticizing Rahm Emmanuel.

That’s Meeka - the snobby, born-on-first-base, thinks she is political royalty, never, ever, fails to show us exactly who she is. And that is why I have never been able to tolerate her.
I always thought Rahm E did an excellent job of managing Obama’s first campaign run. And he is a good reason why the Dems won big, from the top down, that watershed election year.

Rahm didn't run Obama's campaign. David Axelrod did. Rahm was a congressman and became Obama's first Chief of Staff.

I have serious doubts Mika understood anything that happened in Amadeus. Other than music and costumes. The plot and writing are far beyond her mental capacity.

The Hangover may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the first one is probably one of the best comedies of the last 20 years, because it's so outrageous. Zach Galifianakis'  performance is my favorite. "Is this the real Caesar's Palace?"

Does Mika realize that the money Cooper made as an actor and producer of those films gave him the ability to not only finance his projects, but to offer financial assistance to friends' projects.  And that Bradley Cooper has made his name in the industry on his own, his talent and hard work got him where he is. Unlike Mika, who traded on her family name and her relationship with Joe, and she still does nothing with her wealth but host stupid parties celebrating rich people.

Rahm Emanuel can be a bit much at times, but Dems could take a page out of his playbook. His methods are better behind the scenes, which is why he was so good as CoS.  A President needs someone who can get stuff done, and cut thru the bullshit, allowing them to stay above the fray and appear more stately.

David Plouffe was the 2008 Obama campaign manager. David Axelrod was media strategist. Axelrod was on tv more than Plouffe so the confusion is understandable.  I have the dvd of the 2008 Campaign film, and I don't recall seeing Plouffe that much, but Axelrod and Robert Gibbs are shown quite a bit. Axelrod ran Emanuel's Congressional campaign.

Sorry, I was misremembering… it has been years. He was head of Dem Campaign Committee. I think that was what it was called. He targeted certain states/races that might be vulnerable. And it was brilliant … the money “trickled down” and the Dems took back the House. He absolutely took no prisoners. And he played hardball.

Agree it's time for Dems to play hardball. I remember during the early days of the campaign when Gov Walz would say something a little outrageous but truthful, and Harris would act embarrassed. But the crowds loved it. Because as Dems seem to forget, people respond positively to the truth and to calling out bullshit. Not tapdancing around it or saying, well we don't want to judge what's in a person's mind. Oh ffs.

Example:  Hegseth claimed he'd stop drinking if he got confirmed to a claim he was a drunk, But Lemire, JoMika and now Ali Velshi  are responding to this very believable truth with "but he said he'd stop".

And I believe it was Jennifer Rubin who replied yeah that's what everyone says to the toilet the next morning.

Now who sounds more sincere and up for the challenges that lie ahead.  People like Rubin,  or MSNBC show hosts?  Said he'd stop drinking?? You drink like Hegseth and you stop suddenly, because you're running the US military. One of the most stressful jobs in the world.  People like Hegseth look for any reason to say "well one or two won't hurt".

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt, folks.

Mika's "thing" this show was no one should be surprised about any of these appointments. Her thinking is voters knew this would happen and chose this. So, I guess, she's implying, not just don't be shocked, but move on?? When she gets this sort of "thing" going on in her head nothing anyone can say will dispel it. People over and over were saying these picks go beyond what anyone, even repubs, expected or voted for. Yet Mika persists with this obsession.

Mika persists with this thinking. She's been saying no one should be surprised about various other things, even where Trump is going further than anyone expected, and polls show people dislike, and they did not vote for.  I notice several guests on the show say the same thing. John Meacham, this morning for example. As soon as I hear the discussion turn this way I tune out - it seems like the official MJ line. The anti-Trump, and logical direction, is to repeatedly emphasize that Trump is going against what he was elected to do.

Thanks. It's tough to see them lose to the Chiefs in the playoffs when they beat them during the regular season.

The new technology that shows replays of the actions on the field & the referee's decisions drives me nuts. Almost all calls favour the Chiefs.

I hope the Eagles win the Super Bowl.

Agreed. It's funny to see them try to bring in Pablo to talk sports. Mika is now trying to talk about sports, which shows how desperate they are.

Morning Joe needs new hosts & guests. It's remarkable how the show has been on the air for almost 18 years.

I have a solution -- 1. Bring in a new host:

And 2.  Change the name of the show to "Immortan Joe."

Nice smooth transition. I'm not sure the viewers would even notice.

Joe has highlighted several NY Times & WSJ paragraphs, which he will read to viewers.

I have a subscription to the NY Times. I could save money by reading only the paragraphs that Joe wants me to.

Joe discussed RFK putting a chicken in a blender & using it to feed his hawks.

Mika was outraged that he didn't use organic chicken.

Kennedy family parties should be on reality tv.

Everyone had a pretty good idea what a shit show it would be, between Trump's promises and the Project 2025 stuff, and him saying who he would nominate for his cabinet.

And by a very slim margin, people still voted for the shit show.  Except the shit show is now 100 Porta Potties fell off a truck on the interstate and there is more shit than anyone knows how to deal with.

What are Dems doing about it? Until last night, absolutely nothing.  There's a great interview with Rachel and Jon Favreau on YT about just this. Get out in public with people affected by this insanity, every fucking day. Point out how bad it is.  All 50 states' Medicaid portals were shut down.  HIV clinics and vaccine distribution is shut down. You don't have to scold people about their vote, just point out they were misled. Egg prices down?   In Canada they're $3.77 doz. Here they're $10.  Thanks Trump!

So, shocked, but not completely surprised by the last 9 days.  And, lo and behold, Attorneys General, judges, etc. are stopping or putting temporary stays, on a lot of the Trump stuff. Which is probably just Stephen Miller and others whispering in his ear what he should do.  If you don't understand how water works, you sure as fuck don't understand the federal government.

Sounds like the Dems have finally found a long missing backbone.

Why help him by portraying him as just a man doing what he promised and that the voters wanted? Dems should portray him as a con man, who conned everyone again, while also explaining what they would do.

Even Trump's advisors were surprised at some of his appointments. And also the sweeping nature of the 1/6 pardons. And other things. He insisted no Project 2025 stuff.  Voters interviewed pre-election would say he's just a talker and won't do the more extreme things he said. So did politicians and pundits. I wouldn't be as quick as Mika and others on the show to say that voters are getting what they expected and shouldn't be surprised.

I don't think it's helping Trump, as his approval rating has dropped 10 points in a week. He now has the lowest approval of any President going into office, even lower than his first time.

It's not just JoMika saying these things.  And even when they make a valid point, it's hard to take when they're so condescending.  I don't remember anyone other than people trying to ride both sides of the fence not screaming to the heavens how bad it could be.  As far as the pardons, it's been reported that they were going thru the convictions one by one, and Trump got tired and bored and allegedly said "F*** it, pardon all of them".  Maybe his new AG wasn't in the room to tell him to slow down a little, this is going to be a mess.

As far as the surprise, the point is that people were warned. It's like if you're a parent and you say to your child (no matter their age):  I told you what could happen, I did the best I could to help you make a good decision and you did that thing anyway, and what you were warned about is happening, and it's probably worse than we even thought. Not that voters are children per se, but we're dealing with adults who have the same access to information as everyone else.

So when people who voted for him are upset, it's hard not to say, you voted for this and now you're mad the thing you voted for is happening.  Especially considering this isn't 2017. We lived thru his first term, and yet here we are again. As the old saying goes "how many times are you going to touch that hot stove before you figure out it's why you got burned".

JMO, YMMV.

It's very true. It's almost painful to watch them now. Mika and Joe have no credibility to report on the Biden administration. I recall that Mika mocked anyone worried about Biden's health issues in 2023 and told viewers they had no choice but to accept Biden as the nominee in 2024. Joe gave several fire-and-brimstone rants about Biden being in the best shape ever, etc. Mika & Joe loved being seen as being close to the Biden family.

They didn't realize all the warning signs that Biden was in poor shape & would be vulnerable to a collapse on the debate stage.

The switch to Harris didn't work. She was not as prepared as other nominees partially due to the lack of time to prepare for the race.

Joe's rants about the end of Democracy etc were quickly forgotten on the day after the election. Joe was back to talking about political cycles favouring the Democrats in 2026 & it was no big deal that Trump got re-elected. The trip to Mar A Largo made no sense given their fears before the election. Mika & Joe just wanted to CYA and hope that Trump didn't sue them.

Joe hardly posts anything on Twitter, turns off comments on his account  & Mika deleted her account.

I tune in for some guests but fast-forward most of the show.

I don't think it was the lack of time she had. She only lost by 1.5%. It was people being upset about their personal financial situation. And immigration. Even tho it was addressed by Harris and her plans to help the middle and lower income classes.  And the immigration bill that Trump didn't want to pass, so he pulled a fast one and blamed Biden and that's what people hear.  Instead of realizing the truth as it was laid out, over and over and over.

Joe Scarborough assured viewers that Harris would win . He bragged that the Biden campaign provided Harris with the best technology at getting voters out to the polls. Joe mentioned that the door-to-door campaign was reaching target voters 9 or 10 times.

Joe completely missed discussing the GOP strategy of getting low-propensity voters to the polls.

Joe ignored polls showing Latino & African American males were more likely to vote for Trump than in the past.

Joe bragged that Harris had a $1b to spend on her campaign and was happy with their strategy of getting celebrity endorsements etc.

Mika & Joe are too concerned with being friendly with the politicians that they cover to objectively analyze the news. This has been going on since the show started.

Millions of voters who voted for Biden didn’t bother to turn out while Trump turned out most of his 2020 voters, which was the highest number of those voting in the history of the country.

They refer to the vibe cession.  A lot of low information voters just went with the lies on social media.  Traditional media was accused of sane-washing Trump but they had relatively little influence.

Trump promised lower prices, going back to pre pandemic levels, as soon as he took office.  Are gas and egg prices down? Are mortgage rates lower?

Trump promised peace in Ukraine and Gaza within 24 hours.

Media like MJ didnt hammer or even seriously challenge Trump on these ridiculous claims.  Harris should have also hammered him on these fake promises, remind people that while there wasn’t inflation under Trump, the economy was only so so.

Though MAGA voters wouldn’t watch shows like MJ, many moderate voters would and they voted for Trump.

We have all flown that approach over Georgetown, Rosslyn, 14th St Bridge, into National.  Or from the other direction past national harbor and old town and del ray.  The Twins must have landed at National a thousand times each.
Did they not mention the tragedy?

The Clown attributing it to diversity hires and Obama, and to a general stupidity in the military and air traffic control (federal government), is surely going to generate a world class rant tomorrow morning?  He's dismantling oversight, infrastructure, trust, failsafes, etc... blaming "diversity hires" as he dismantles the "deep state."

Fingers crossed we get a cry-read and red-faced, neck-vein, spittle-flecked screeching explosion from Morning Luther King, or Franklin Delano Joesevelt, or Winston Scarboroughill.

I watched a little this morning and it was all I saw. Mika was covering it from a news standpoint, having people on the scene, etc. At 9 am they talked about the hearings coming up, but at 9:30 they stayed on the accident.

I also unfortunately saw the press conference.  Hegseth, Vance and Trump all blamed DEI hiring, and people who don't know how to use computers, and night vision goggles and Pete Buttigieg, whom Trump said was full of sh**. .  Buttigieg responded via X, that they had a very good record during BIden as far as no fatal crashes, more Air Traffic Control, etc.

I would recommend Trump not get into a pissing match with Pete Buttigieg.

I've watched MSNBC today and it seems like the helicopter pilot may have thought Control was talking about the plane that had just taken off, not the one on approach.

I'm assuming that if the Blackhawk crew had night vision goggles on, it was for a reason. Trump seemed to think they inhibit vision at night, which seems kind of counter intuitive to their name.  But he's the expert (Sarcasm font).

I will definitely watch tomorrow. It should be interesting.

What MJ missed was the depth of dislike of Biden out there. Probably (unfortunately) one of the worst presidents as politician, ever. He let Republicans walk all over him on immigration for years. Too many grew to hate him. And I guess he had poor advisors or just lacked the energy to fight.

And Harris just wasn't a good enough politician to overcome all this. Biden took too long to drop out and thus there could be no primary, where Shapiro of PA could quite possibly have won, who is a much better politician.

That, in a nutshell is why Trump unfortunately won. Biden blew it.

MJ should have been harping on him to be more aggressive.

Um, that's the byproduct of propaganda.  Joe Biden was a statesman and a public servant, simply doing his job.  That this ENRAGED people has nothing to do with Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.  Being a good faith public servant has nothing to do with knowing how to redirect a tsunami of social media hate, social media falsehoods, bad actor nations' propaganda in social media, and home grown right wing propagandists that staff cable media, social media, and the radio.

If Biden has to be trump to defeat trump... I don't know what we're doing any longer.
