I completely disagree with Ignatius & the National Security Advisor. He said the USA has prevent Ukraine from escalating the war. I guess he forgot that Russia has been bombing civilians & energy infrastructure in Ukraine.

Mika said she was worried about her daughters visiting her in Florida due to the state's ban on abortions after 6 weeks.

Mika said that she hopes that Kamala & her female campaign team will come to Dubai for her summit. Mika said Kamala got more votes than Hillary Clinton & will be a key player in politics for the next few years.

I made a new batch of wine for the holidays. I may have exaggerated Mika's worries over her daughter's visiting her in Florida:)

Mika did say that she wants high-profile guests for her summit in Dubai, so Kamala Harris & Adrienne Elrodd would help with ticket sales.

Mika acknowledged that Huma Abedin isn't as popular now that she is engaged to a reclusive billionaire.

Mika wasn't impressed with Anthony Weiner's outreach program to young female constituents by texting them.

Didn't see JoMika this morning, did they take off for the holidays already? (Fingers crossed). 

If Joe wants to rail about something, it's being handed to him on a silver platter. Apparently Elon Musk and Donald Trump don't realize they are not a part of the government until January.  And shutting down the government six days before Christmas is not going to bode well for them. 

All Joe and the rest of media need to do is start calling Musk "Mr President" and saying he's really running things, that Trump has no power.  He'll be gone before you can say "Tesla sucks".

It's like Joe is a sleeper agent for Fox News, NewsMax, etc.  

 

When it started, Morning Joe was an innovative show with guests from both sides of the political aisle. It discussed multiple subjects, including new companies, movies, TV, international issues, etc. The show's quality started to deteriorate when Trump entered politics. Mika & Joe made millions of dollars from their obsession with talking about Trump. I suspect if their contract is renewed, it will be at a lower amount which would convince Joe to quit. Mika may force Joe to stay on the air until Know Your Value reaches the 60 over 60 milestone.

Mika & Joe are on vacation . Lemire is hosting from an undisclosed location . Mika narrated an 8-minute tribute to President Carter.  Meecham & Jonathan Alter are special guests. There were clips of Dr Z.

Lemire said that Mika had a front-row seat to Carter's term in office.

I expect more discussion about President Carter's life when Mika & Joe return from vacation.

I guess now that Jimmy Carter has passed away, Mika has outlived her usefulness, as it was her connection to DC via her father's role in the Carter Administration that  got her where she is today. 

Call me cynical, (a label I wear proudly) but I fail to see what a ten year old girl would know about Carter's administration and his policies. 

She wrote something that is published on the MSNBC website "President Carter, my father and me".   Dad took the kids on trips, Jimmy Carter read a eulogy for her father over the phone as he was not able to get to the funeral in person, helped her brothers, yada yada.  

Wonder how she deals with the way Joe's idol, Reagan, trashed Carter, used his 1980 campaign book against him, etc. and took credit for ending the Iran Hostage Crisis and the Cold War, when it was Carter who did things behind the scenes to enable the end to both.

 I switched on this morning to see if The Twins had returned. I saw Meeka, Donnie, the usuals, sitting around a table; did not see Joe. Meeka chirped that Carol Kane would be up next. Now I have always liked Carol Kane; but I wonder how long it might have taken for someone to explain to Meeka who Carol K is. I didn't stick around; but did wonder about Joe. Is this the beginning of the end?

Joe once again talks about his anger at Biden's  handlers at vetoing his doing things like the Super Bowl interview. Look, Biden could have done these things if he wanted. He's been around so supposedly knows the score on traditional things like that. Joe is actually making an argument that Biden was mentally out of it. Blaming the staff is ridiculous. And then Mika comes on and says Biden could have won if he'd hung in there.

Scott Galloway said the USA is becoming a Cleptocracy.

Musk invested $250M in Trump & his net worth went up $140B after the election.

Scott is upset with Meta changing its moderation of content & moving them to Texas.

Scott is mad at Mark Zuckerberg for giving in to Trump & going to Mar Largo.

Joe was silent.

 

Joe said his friend told him to invest in monopolies like Amazon, Meta & Microsoft  during Covid. Joe said he doesn't trust the stock market.

Scott is upset that people get their information from social media.

He is mad that America elected a President who is a convicted rapist.

He is mad at people not dating people with different political views.

Mika ended the interview by stating that Trump was tried civilly & was found liable for sexual abuse. Scott was not given time to respond.

It must be a new policy at Morning Joe to issue disclaimers after guests speak.

They didn't do this when Joe was ranting about Trump being a rapist last year.

MSNBC probably doesn't want to get sued by Trump like ABC was.

In the 3rd hour, Susan Page came on the show with special guest Chris Matthews

Susan had an exclusive 55-minute interview with President Biden.

Biden was alert during the interview. Biden said he could have been re-elected in 2024.

Page admitted that Biden looked older now than in 2020.

He answered all questions but was defensive on some questions.

Biden admitted he may have been able to finish a second term.

Joe said Biden is leaving the American economy in excellent shape.

Biden wanted to stay in the Oval Office. He doesn't like misinformation from Trump. He wanted shovels in the ground for his program.

Biden doesn't want Trump to indict Liz Cheney or Tony Fauci.

He is excited about having a great-grandchild. Mika usually makes these announcements.

He is happy that he pardoned his son.

 

 

 

Page said Biden should have done more interviews during his Presidency & had a few press conferences.

Barnicle admitted that Biden's aides kept him away from the press.

Biden was ill-served by being kept away from the media,

He should have done the Super Bowl interview.

Matthews said Biden didn't do any interviews with the NY Times while he was president. No cabinet meetings since fall 2023.

Joe said he didn't think Trump would flop at the 2024 debate with Trump.

Matthews said Biden didn't participate in the 2020 primary debates. He was quiet debating Warren & Sanders.

Joe doesn't believe there was a conspiracy to protect Biden but Matthews said he had to be protected from the press & the cabinet.

Matthews never heard from the cabinet for 4 years.

Matthews said Biden's top advisors knew when Biden was having good days & bad days. There is a reason they didn't trust him to talk to the press or his cabinet.

Mika said that Biden should have stayed in the race & performed well at a NATO press conference even though he got the names of Presidents wrong.

Mika is livid at Biden being pushed out of the race.

Yeah they're back. Mika didn't have time to do her hair or apparently change clothes from the funeral. 

Joe is blaming the fires and hydrants running dry on not maintaining infrastructure.  Then of course he brings up New Orleans and the City not fixing the levee system.  

Because in the middle of a disaster, why show sympathy for the thousands of people who have lost everything, when you can throw around ridiculous claims of who didn't do what. 

Thankfully Willie and Eugene spoke up and corrected Joe and his moronic comments.  No one would have expected five or six fires to break out in such a short time span, but due to climate change, winds, dry conditions etc. this is where we are. 

Nice to see Joe isn't even trying to be fair with his comments about anything and everything, he's reverted back to his neo conservative bullshit. 

So easy for a wealthy white guy to sit on his ass and mouth off.   Enjoy it while you can, Joe. Your days on tv are numbered.

I saw on Mediate that Joe said the tragedy unfolding in LA is the fault of slashed spending for the LA Hellscape? And a "complete failure of government" ????  Did he actually say that? And he didn't get slapped by Meeka? Any pushback from other guests? What is wrong with him? Granted, I didn't see this; was he as terrible as it seemed? 

Is he deliberately trying to drive viewers away? Maybe he is angling for a job at Fox; because I have come to believe that he has never, ever, lost his belief In Newt Gingrichism, Tea Partyism and trickle down economics. 

To think that other network shows/hosts are experiencing pay cuts...but this guy? He is empowered?

Yep he said that.  And here's the actual facts:  

 Thursday, a spokesperson for L.A. City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, who was budget chair last year, said the city increased the fire department’s overall budget by approximately $53 million in the current fiscal year. However, $76 million – intended to pay for fire department personnel – was placed in a fund separate from the fire department’s regular account when the budget was adopted because contract negotiations with department employees were still taking place at the time.”

As a result, if you just compare the LAFD’s budget last year to this year’s, it looks like it went down $23M. But that’s because when the budget was adopted last May or June, the city was still negotiating those new contracts. The $76M that was set aside in a separate account ultimately was moved once the MOUs were finalized.

A Dem congressperson is on now and he is saying a lot of the problems was not being able to get fire fighting planes and choppers up due to the winds and smoke.  And that FEMA has funds to help rebuilding. 

Joe isn't there to blame Democrats or whoever for failing to predict where a disaster will happen and conjure up money to fight something before it happens. 

Mika is reading the news in her cry talking voice. Practice being a newsreader Meeks. You'll need that for your next career.

(I will never forgive or forget that one)  Is Joe becoming more and more condescending and entitled? It is like he wants to leave the show; and maybe run to the possibly welcoming arms of Fox?  But what will Meeka do? WWMD

I just read an article in Variety penned by Keith Olbermann re The Twins. Mostly Joe. I know Keith has been off the reservation for awhile now; but I Iove when he skewers MSNBC's Power Couple. I have no idea how to post a link.

Joe has said in the past that he agreed with President Nixon that he should have burned the Watergate tapes to avoid any criminal indictments. Joe freaks out anytime someone brings up what he has said in the past on Morning Joe.

Forgot the icing on the cake. Steele asked Joe how did the Republicans treat Obama and the Office when he was elected.

Note to network: Michael Steele may be the best choice to anchor this 3/4 hour morning show if/when The Twins leave.

I think Michael is the only panelist to push back...and good for him for not being cowed by Joe!! Look at Michael...he is handsome, charismatic, funny and articulate. He is the complete opposite of the Mr. and Mrs. in that regard. If they put Michael in that timeslot, MSNBC could win back a lot of those viewers who bailed after Election Day. He doesn't huff and puff like Joe...who is, in a word, insufferable.
