For those of us that actually watched the show this morning why was so much time spent on... let's just say nothing.  

The government shutdown is coming. Yet it's totally ignored. At 7:44 Rep Daniel Goldman mentioned it.

I expect to see a countdown clock and serious shutdown discussion tomorrow

Joe is in NY today with the panel. Joe said he knew that Trump 's business empire was overvalued. Joe said that even during the Apprentice TV show, business executives knew Trump was not a business genius. That didn't stop Mika & Joe from appearing on the show.

 

Joe said he was asking questions about Jeffrey Epstein for years before he was convicted.

Mika is in a different studio with Jackie.

The first topic today was Trump's speech in California. Joe was outraged that Trump made fun of Paul Pelosi getting hit with a hammer by an intruder. Joe was upset that Trump used profanity in a speech.

Mika is mad that people still support Trump.

Mika was happy that Governor Newsom appointed Laphonza Butler to fill Dianne Feinstein's Senate seat. She is African American & the first LGBT Senator from California. Mika said she the Senator would be eligible to attend her KYV summit next year in Dubai.

Did Ms Butler submit her most recent financial statement, bank records and fill out a credit app?  You have to be making some serious dough to get into one of those Rich Lady Whine Parties. 

Laphonza Butler worked on Kamala Harris' 2020 campaign.  She was just appointed interim  US Senator for California.

Edited to add: Forgot to mention she also headed up Emily's List, a real organization that does real valuable work getting women elected to public office.  Not some lame thing Mika made up in her head when TPTB told Joe, "no we aren't paying her that much, we have actual journalists who have contacts in DC we don't need the 40 year old rolodex from her Dad's office". 

Ms Butler doesn't need Mika's lame ass "summit".  She knows her value, and it's not defined by cake baking and riding around in an unvarnished lobster boat.

Butler's invitation to Mika's KYV summit could raise her profile and convince her to run for the Senate. I am sure Mika would give Senator Butler  a discount on the costs to attend the summit.

Today's first topic was John Kelly confirming that Trump didn't want amputees to attend events at the White House. Joe was outraged at Trump for not serving in Vietnam and attacking veterans who were wounded in battle. Trump didn't want to visit a cemetery in France.

Mika is wearing a new purple and orange scarf.

Joe is happy that the late-night talk shows are back.

John Lemire said that Trump's support won't be affected by the new revelations.

Lemire said The military men don't want Trump to be reelected.

Mika was excited that Katelin Cricco was on Mika's FIRST 50 over 50 list & she just won the Nobel prize for her work on MRNA vaccines. Mika took credit for inspiring the DR to help develop the vaccines.

The major topic today is Speaker McCarthy getting ousted. Joe blamed Republicans for letting Gaetz force a vote. The GOP is doomed, according to Joe.

Mika was excited about Senator Kennedy saying that you should follow your heart but take your brains with you. Mika said she will use that expression at her next KYV Seminar. Mika is wearing a light blue shawl.

palmieri said Democrats don't trust Mccarthy so they let him lose the vote.

I saw Christie and was out. Not that I would have hung around that long anyway (new episode of Morning Show was beckoning and wow it was a doozy). 

Assuming Joe spoke sharply to the R's in the House who voted McCarthy out, and forgets he was just like them as far as wanting to cut funding for everything during the 15 minutes he was in Congress.

Oakville Joe showed this morning how worried he was in August 2016 when Trump asked about using nuclear weapons!!! 

So worried that it did not stop him and Mika from allowing Trump to be on the show constantly, nor did they mind Trump grabbing women, sleeping with porn stars, being "reckless with intelligence"  etc.  when they showed up uninvited to the NYE bash at Mar a Lago. 

Funny the only thing he got upset about was Trump blabbing about Mika's face lift. 

Joe has what we call "selective memory", wherein the only thing he did in the past that we should know is what makes him look good; not all the shit he did with people like Trump and Gaetz.

Joe loved the Johnny Carson show when he was growing up. Carson was popular in the midwest.

Donny Deutsh said his tv show is available on iTunes. It was a comedy. Mika said she wouldn't watch it even though she appeared in one episode.

Joe is mad at the problem solvers caucus for not defending McCarthy. Josh said he worked on the debt celing deal. Joe said he crossed party lines when he was in Congress.

Joe is furious as Josh for talking back to Joe, saying he didn't vote for Dick Gepheardt for speaker.

Bellowing Joe is back. He doesn't want the house run by freaks! Joe is an institutionalist.

Joe said "Let me finish !!!!"

Does Joe ever mention Newt G by name when he muses, misty-eyed about his Days In Congress? The emperor has no clothes. Did the Brzezinski’s ever gather and lounge around the tv as a family for enjoyment or closeness? With popcorn and snacks? No Super Bowls? Who Shot JR? 🤗 (that one is probably too old)

Great minds! I work with a guy named Dan, and we call him Dansplaining.  

Why does Joe think his audience or panel needs to have Johnny Carson  explained to them?  You're not on MTV Joe. Your audience is over 30. 

And Joe explaining what is funny is akin to my dog explaining nuclear physics.  Not a clue. 

Stick to "when I was in Congress" and lying about calling out Trump, Joe.

It’s sad but I’m so glad Joe and Mika are not in today. We need calm information sharing not bellowing repeating of other’s insights and Mika’s anxious face. They are probably off so Joe can come up with snappy  comebacks for Cruz. How many times will he say when I was in the house?

I would watch it. Joe considers himself to be one of the top political strategists in Florida after his victories in Congress in the 1990s.

I've been really over MJ lately.

I started watching again after about a year of not having cable, but when they put it on Peacock I turned it on. 

It's just the worst. You don't get any news, just Joe bloviating about whatever is up his ass today. 

And Mika. JFC woman, get a life. No one cares about KYV, no one EVER CARED ABOUT KNOW YOUR VALUE. It's a scam. Us normals don't need you to tell us how to know how valuable we are. We work our asses off and raise families, get promoted, live our lives without you telling us how to get ahead or be better "on camera". 

Why don't you try being better on camera??!

I'm watching on Peacock, which reruns the show at 10 am. 

Thank God they went directly to the beginning of the show and stopped the interview with DeSantis. 

Gosh Ron nice to know you don't care that classified documents were sitting in old filing boxes in a bathroom, where anyone could get them.  

Absolutely no reason to have him talk about Israel. He's the governor of Florida, not an expert on Israel and Mideast.  

At least Joe stopped him on the classified docs issue.

It was an informative show during the first hour today.

Joe started his rant by blaming Trump for letting South Korea buy $6 Billion of Iranian Oil in 2018. The money was frozen until the deal with Iran to free some American hostages recently. A guest said the money had not been spent yet, so Hamas didn't get that money to fund the attack on Israel.

I watched the first couple of hours and I'm glad they spent time explaining the 6 billion dollars because it's been lied about for days now. 

I left before DeSantis showed up. He does care about the classified docs but he's scared to say it. Rule #1 don't upset the base.

Was the interview basically giving him a pass or did they hold his feet to the fire?

I watched DeSantis, but didn't hear anything.  I presume he said nothing worth repeating because MSNBC has been on all day and that press hit on Morning Joe has not been replayed once.
