Willa deleted the picture, haha. Too late, girl. It's too late.

I didn't see it actually...so not so late?

As for last page's discussion of Oracle...it's not active but IMO it's still sacred and should always be Barbara Gordon's.

Why not just call her...watchtower?

The photo is plastered everywhere on twitter already and tumblr. So yeah it is kinda late. Anyone can see it now and the secret is out.

Deleting it on instagram doesn't mean the photo is deleted off the face of the internet. Plus you can see it in the spoiler only thread :p

Watchtower = Smallville and I don't really want the show to use that.

I'd rather they say HQ.

Chloe and Felicity may both be favorite characters of mine but they are not interchangeable.  A new code name is needed IMO.

Yes yes yes gimme gimme gimme office sexy times!!

No, really, @jay741982, tell us how you really feel! Are you looking forward to office sexy times, maybe just a little bit? ;-). But, seriously, they could have their choice of offices--hers or his--for sexy times!

I can't believe Willa spoiled Oliver's mayoral candidacy!

Love your enthusiasm!

Why thank you! I love this couple and if their first time is any indication any sexy times will be hot with their insane chemistry!

Oliver and Felicity should take advantage of both offices for sexy times!

^ I didn't mean to sound accusatory about Willa's accidental spoil--more like commiserating because I can empathize with goofing up. I didn't even see both signs the first time I was looking for one in the spoiler thread, so I'm also impressed by how observant this fandom can be!

It's not Willa's fault. She'll be fine. I mean, Andy is still alive and kicking... But man, there are some hawk-eyed people in this fandom. I didn't even think to look beyond the blinds.

EXAMINE EVERYTHING. Some people even noticed that the lamp in that pic (which is OQ's campaign HQ, I guess?) is the same one in the picture of O/F that was released in TV Guide. Not sure it means anything necessarily, other than there's a little lamp swapping going on, but I guess whatever room they're in in that pic could be the eventual Queen for Mayor 2016 HQ.

I personally don't want her taking someone else's codename. It's bad enough her name is technically linked with firestorm, although I don't think they ever clarified if they ever plan on making that link now that she is more than an Easter egg.

I just don't know how the writers/ep feel. They tend to perserverate on ideas even if they don't make sense. Not sure why they thought it was good idea to label an episode Oracle, which then needed to be changed. Perhaps their motivation had no connection to the codename at all.

There are many options they could come up with.

^ Tess used watchtower too.

Didn't end too well for her though.  Poor Tess.

Poor Willa. She's in so much trouble. :(

Didn't we all pretty much know already he was going to run for Mayor?  I know there was still debate but I took it as wishful thinking against the inevitable.  Based on what they were hinting at Comic Con I've been assuming it was a done deal.

Yes, that's true but that still doesn't mean TPTB wanted it out there already.  i hope she doesn't get into hot water.

Im glad it got spoiled about his mayoral run. Now I can prepare myself for really not wanting to watch a good portion of plot. Ugh- I am so over politics right now. :/ But on the upside he'll be in suits again :)

I'm actually getting a little nervous that I won't know what to do with a more happier & balanced OQ. I'm used to the broken emotionally damaged man, i can deal with his bullshit but he might be gone at least in present day. Needless to say I'm having a lil trepidation about the new OQ.

I'll be the first to go negative.  I'm really sad they went with this running for Mayor storyline so soon.  I'm hoping he loses but he'll probably win because Comics!  I just don't see TIIC doing a good story here.  This is a small, character story, which given the last 2 seasons they're loathed to do.  It seems that after S1 they're idea of great story telling is BIGGER!   When they go bigger, it isn't (IMO) better because they lose the characters along with logical/concise storytelling.  Maybe WM can reign MG in and this ends up as a good/concise/small/personal character story but, I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not disappointed with him running for mayor, but I am kind of disappointed it's happening NOW. It seems to me they might want to establish Oliver as being somewhat more responsible career-wise before plunging him into a mayoral campaign. I mean, the last time we saw him having a job, he was irresponsible and awful at it, and wound up losing his family's whole fortune because he made freaking terrible decisions. Not to mention the last time the city saw him, he was being arrested for being the Arrow. I'll let that slide since Moira ran for mayor after being on trial for conspiracy to MURDER PEOPLE, and because for all I know, most of the morons in Star(ling) City think the Arrow is badass and wouldn't care if Oliver WAS him.

I guess I'm past the point where I expect any nuance in the storytelling, but I was hoping this would come later, like a season or two down the line. It just doesn't make sense for his character now, especially given that he spent the past five months not even residing in Star(ling). I guess I'll see how it plays out.

Maybe I'm being super optimistic here, but I think if they legit half-ass the politics of it, it's gonna be okay. They can make Oliver be all social justice warrior to match his comic book [borderline Socialist] persona, but I don't expect them to actually BE political in anyway. This storyline has gotta be about Oliver now having a public image to build/protect, and how having a public persona can bring on all the hijinks to his secret superhero night job.

I can see the potential for the humor, and the action/adventure in it. Turning the tables on living a double life, if you will, because hiding it from loved ones is a burden -- but hiding it from strangers is fun.

You should read the Smallville comics.. she's alive and okay.. ish.

As for the Oracle codename.. I say if we can have like 2 different Black Canaries, 4 different Flashes (at least that i can name off the top of my head), 20 different Batgirls and 50 different Robins over the past decades- than there is no reason for Oracle as a codename not to be used by a different character, especially now that Barbara is Batgirl again.

And a bunch of ATOM's and even two Green Arrow's.

I personally want something less comicbook worry. Felicity already gets hate. But Felicity won't be Oracle unless the Teen Titan's (forgot it's name change) is scrapped.

I still say they should go with something that has light in it's neaning.

A q&a a fan did with Marc where he speculates the promo my drop by Labor Day weekend.

http://youmademeafan.tumblr.com/post/127733846206/meeting-marc-guggenheim

That was very interesting, so thanks!  Yay for MG recognizing that they haven't done enough to service Diggle's character and saying that this season is Diggle's year.

The fan asked if the 5-year arc (with flashbacks and present time) plan was still the same, or if they have had to deviate drastically.  MG answered that they have not deviated drastically and if ratings continue to be strong, they will not have to change, but if ratings tank, then they will make changes as needed.  This answer kinda confirmed for me that Oliver's story in S3 - with Oliver refusing to get involved with the woman he loved and going off to fight Ra's - was always going to happen but originally with Laurel as his love interest.

I also found the Sons of Anarchy comparison interesting: "Lastly, I know that Marc is a big fan of Sons of Anarchy as I am.  I compared Jax and Tara’s relationship to Oliver and Felicity.  If you’re not familiar with the show, it is a must watch.  If so, you’ll be thrilled to know that Marc was in agreement with me that Jax & Tara had a relationship that didn’t interfere with the story telling and Jax remained true to his character.  At the end of the day, Jax was still ruthless, badass, and not to be taken lightly; but, his love for his girl was amazing.  Marc liked the comparison. So I continued that I thought Arrow has what it takes to continue making Olicity goodness while Arrow maintains its gritty storytelling with no interference.  He agreed whole heartedly."

I like what the mayor storyline could bring. Oliver and a public persona, Oliver in a suit, Oliver and Felicity power couple, secret identity fun. It's just the stupidity of it right now gets to me and I don't trust the writers to write this well. Grr...

Oracle is a code name that would make comic people happy, but now apparently it would just piss then off.

Oracle is sacred, she's beloved.  It's funny but people are less protective of Batgirl (Barbara, Cassandra, Stephanie, Barbara again) than they are of Oracle.  Although, I've heard different reasons.  Some fans really loved the BoP storyline with Barbara as Oracle and therefore don't want her to go back to Batgirl.  While other fans love Stephanie Brown as Batgirl and didn't want Barbara to take the title back.  Kind of funny that it's two very different aspects of the same desire...

Personally, I really do think Felicity was intended to be Oracle until DC pulled the plug.  They announced (at SDCC) that 305's title was Oracle.  MG was asked about it on Tumblr and I believe he answered that yes they intended to use Oracle for Felicity.  I can't find the original answer from MG (perhaps it was in an interview and not on Tumblr) but I found this answer he gave.  If anyone can find where he said DC stopped them from using Oracle I'd appreciate it...this way I know I'm not losing it.

http://marcguggenheim.tumblr.com/post/110510284849/thanks-for-answering-the-question-about-the

I wasn't opposed to Oracle but I think it would have caused the fanboys and haters to really hate.  So, I'd prefer it if she gets a unique name...or steal one from Microsoft (I loved Cortana in the Halo games).  However, I do think she needs one, I think they intended to give her one but shy'd away for whatever reason and I don't really believe that they think only people in the field need code names.

I'm finally taking a look at the office picture on a good computer screen -- the poster on the far wall, it says 2016, right? You can only see the last two numbers, but it looks like 16 to me? So this campaign storyline would be around at least until 410.

I think most of our problems with Oliver running for Mayor-is him winning? I think an election and making him a public entity again is good for the show. This creative team writing interesting political drama, suspense and the every day aspects of meetings and having Oliver be in job while being a secret vigilante is what has me worried.

Year of the Diggle? Yea, we'll see.

Yeah...I'm not convinced either. I've heard this same line about so many of my favorite characters over the years and it's almost never turned out that way, or what the EPs have seen as great stuff has actually moved the character off to their own little sideplot. I don't want that. I want Year of Diggle at the center of Team Arrow. I will remain hopeful that with WM as co-EP, that will be the direction we go, because she seems to put more emphasis on character/relationships vs costume/codename.

I'm just glad we are getting promotion for Diggle outside of Comic Con. The lack of anything was making me doubt this was going to be a big season for Diggle.

Now if I could just get something on Felicity that wasn't tied to Oliver..

You mean Brian Q Miller's pictorial fan Fiction? I'll pass thank you. :D. I'm not so sure ghost in the machine is a great ending anyway.

About Oliver running for the Mayor. Yeah, if we can just keep him out of office, then the campaign could be good. In the comics he had to resign though I don't remember why.

I wouldn't mind an "Oliver runs for mayor" but I think it's too soon.  I'm reminded of AK and MG saying that whenever they come up with a storyline for down the line, Berlanti says "Let's do it now".  I'm putting this down to that.

On the other hand, maybe it has to be this season. I'm already fed up with the Canadian election and the US one seems to be churning away in the background.  At least the Canadian election will be over by the time 4x02 airs, but next year the US one will be non-stop, and I imagine the last thing people will want to see is Oliver running in s5 when it will seem like the US election is everywhere .  Hopefully they can slip Oliver's run in there during some down time.

Re the conversation on the Laurel thread about whether she should be shown training more:  I'm good with Laurel having all her skills now if they use the time for more Diggle story. Diggle and Felicity storylines last year were sacrificed to make the Black Canary and the Atom, and it's their turn now.

Oh yes OQ in a suit is AMAZING!! So that is a plus. I guess I'm fine with him running for mayor. I just don't want to watch him actually be the mayor. So I sorta want him to lose which feels wrong rooting against OQ.

That being said, y'all are making some good points about secret ids, public knowledge/awareness & the shenengians that can occur. So it might be fun. I literally see him wanting the job so he can publically declare the Green Arrow as protector of Star(ling) City. And then resign the next month or so. I bet the name change will also be on the ballot.

I like Morrigan2575 miss the more intricate character driven stories over the BIGGER idea driven stories that felt sorta empty when not properly delivered. I just didn't want Mayor Queen this soon in the series. But I can roll with it, don't have much choice. I hope they execute it better than last year's LoA, which was more DoA.

Re: the Queen for Mayor storyline. *sigh* I was still hoping that this storyline wasn't going to happen, though I assumed I was doomed to be disappointed. Now I'm just hoping he loses. :( Oliver as actual Mayor is a huge DNW for me.
