The one bit of hope I have that they won't let Oliver off the hook is Stephen Amell's comments on how the reason that Oliver and Felicity broke up was that Oliver lied, and that Felicity was RIGHT to end things with him.  Since he usually takes the party line, it's my hope that this is the position that the writers are taking is well.  There is the Guggenheim factor, where he likes to take a plot that people object to and double down,  but I hope they don't.

The best thing they could do is have Oliver be like, "These are my mistakes, here's how I've learned from them and why I won't make them again," and Felicity be like, "These were my issues with being in a relationship with you, here's why I've changed my mind and why they aren't issues for me anymore."

Hmmm...maybe The Calculator is behind Helix and that's what's going to initiate the conversation in 520.

I agree, @apinknightmare, I hope the conversation is more about the future and moving forward than a rehash, just MG's comments make it seem like it might be more of a rehash to me. I would not want a scenario where Felicity holds Oliver's mistakes over his head which may be why she's never been ready to have a conversation about it. She hasn't been ready to let it go/move on.

It's tough to suss out what exactly is going on - they spent the last part of last season "exploring" the breakup. There isn't any need to do it again unless they aren't exploring it so much as clearing the air - or if there's something else that happened over the summer (apart from the sex) that contributed to the issues between them that we just don't know about yet so we can't speculate.

They showed him living in a room in the actual lair earlier this season. IIRC Felicity said something about it, and he replied "I don't need much." I think we're to believe that he's still living on a cot in that room, not in an apartment somewhere above it.

Yeah, I get that. I just meant the bodyguards/driver, whoever escorts him "home" probably just thinks he must be living in an apartment in the building and not in the basement. It's easy for them to justify why he goes there instead of an actual house or apartment building.

Remember, this is the same security detail that told a reporter his whereabouts. They're obviously not very bright.

I do get what he means by it takes two people to end a relationship. Like Stephen said, Felicity left Oliver and Oliver let her. Essentially he could've fought harder or tried fixing it (but we obviously know why that didnt happen).

But yes I do want the conversation to be Felicity vocalizing why she felt hurt that he didn't trust her enough to be a full partner and Oliver taking ownership that him not talking to her is what led to him making decisions out of fear.

Where did Susan think he had been living this whole time? She was both investigating him and dating him. Susie Star Reporter never wondered why he didn't take her home? More support for @BkWurm1's theory that they always intended for Oliver to move back to the loft.

Even though Felicity staying in the loft made no sense whatsoever, imagine if she had no job, no home and never left the lair. I'm actually surprised they didn't do that. We also don't know where Thea, Curtis and WD live. Are Curtis and Oliver both living in the sub level for sad, lying dumpees?

The campaign office set became the mayor's office? Did Laurel's apartment go to another show? Diggle's apartment is still there and they showed Susan's place.

Susan is dumb. Curtis probably lives in his apartment, Paul was the one to leave if I remember correctly. And WD lives alone. Thea was staying at Laurel's(creepy). I don't get why they didn't have Thea and Felicity move in together. But they only show these sets when they need to.

THE SEARCH FOR CHASE INTENSIFIES — Oliver (Stephen Amell), Team Arrow, ARGUS and the SCPD kick off a citywide manhunt for Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra). Helix tells Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) they have a way to find Chase but they will need something big, and illegal, from her in return. Joel Novoa directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Elizabeth Kim (#519).  Original airdate 4/26/2017.

MY EXCITEMENT INTENSIFIES.

"Oliver and company are going to be in direct conflict with Felicity and Helix, and the consequences are... shall we say 'explosive.'"

I do wonder what he means when he says he'll lock out twitter from his mobile. I'm guessing he's expecting to get a lot of hate for that episode. So it's either from Olicity shippers or Comic stans...

And judging from what (and who) comes in the next episode, I'm thinking comic stans.

But what would happen in 519 that would anger people?

My list of potential stuff that could go down:

  • Felicity delivers said illegal stuff and that causes a lot more complications
  • Oliver/Felicity kiss
  • Felicity/Oliver say some really harsh things to each other in the heat of the moment

hmmm

LOL no it wouldn't be. This fandom in general overreacts to everything imo

But if he is going to turn off his phone it has to be something big o_o

I'm thinking comic stans for the same reason you are.

Or maybe he thinks that people won't like seeing Felicity and the team in opposition?

Has anything been said about how much time is going to have passed between 518 and 519? Will it be a few weeks? If so, has Star City just been doing nothing about Chase being free and leaving him to do whatever he wants as he plans since the manhunt "kicks off" according to the synopsis?

So there will be an actual explosion I'm sure and maybe thats the thing that gets Oliver and Felicity trapped in the bunker.

Going full on shipper, wouldn't it be nice if MG is also referring to explosive chemistry and have Oliver and Felicity end the episode in an arguement that prompts a lunge, only for a bomb to go off and totally interrupt the moment.  That would get Twitter going.  :D

Felicity is not allowed to wear a mask on this show. MG said so.

That looks like a standoff between Team Oliver and Team Felicity.  Oliver is still not wearing his GA suit.  And he's got a gun.

Contrary to what MG has been saying, she's not all that bright.

I think the fact that the writers never even worked out what excuse Oliver would be giving for the fact that his address was his old campaign office indicates they always intended to more him back into the loft.

Because that would require actually putting some thought into it. Or implying that Felicity and Thea are friends.

HER

OUTFIT

The writers may not have brought it this season - but the wardrobe dept sure did. Felicity looks amazing

Oh my god

Oliver looks rather handsome in these!  He's looking at her face again instead of above her head--always a good sign.

And, Felicity's no glasses/ponytail makes me think they're about to kiss. She usually has her hair down or in an updo when she wears her contacts, right?

For the love of fashion -- why is Felicity wearing heels?  Why can't they put her in footwear that she can actually run in if she's on a stealth mission?

Those shoes are ridiculous as is the knee length trench coat. Though I do love that Felicity's practical field footwear is wedges.

OMG best pics of the season !!!

I'm thinking they are going to put Oliver and Felicity very at odds in episode 19 to service them working out their issues in episode 20 and that in doing so it could mean some harsh words and verbal blows between the two and Marc thinking he's going to get some heat for that from Olicity fans. Sort of like 3x12 "I don't want to be the woman you love" vibe.

But I personally have felt that something needs to break the civil pretending everything's hunky dory ice between Oliver and Felicity and get them to confront their feelings head on and at the time I thought it might be Billy and Susan but turns out it could be Helix. IMO they need to fight, fighting leads to talking and the only thing really needed to reunite Olicity is for them to actually talk to each other- for me anyway. So I say bring it!

I look at episode 5x10 and that was probably the best Olicity focused episode of the season and they were fighting each other 75% of the time but the fights got to the heart of the issues and brought them a little bit of progress- Im hoping 5x19 will do the same but on a much larger effective scale.
