This keeps getting deeper and uglier.  The more I think about it, the more I think Danielle's comments sound like a carefully worded hit piece on Frank.

Definitely

unfortunately I’m really interested in junk and antiques etc. otherwise I would never watch the show again I can’t stand everyone on it. Well so far the jersey guy seems OK but he loses points for even associating with Mike.

They suck for not even doing a segment on the show where they say Frank won’t be back because of his health or whatever. And on the other side, if something devious is going on, they are writing/saying bullshit on social media & to the press.  I wish the true story would come out.

Or if not, then they should just shut up.

I guess they felt they had to address it, there was probably some pressure from their perspective.  I didn't like that the comments seemed so self serving though, and kind of an obvious but indirect slam.  At least they made it pretty clear that we shouldn't expect Frank to be back.  Of course, you never know.  If they do bring him back, they'll have me as a viewer.

Maybe Frank could turn up on his own show or something, maybe they could hire him on Pawn Stars or something.  Like him and Chum could co-own his candy store lol.

Wow that episode with the run down fountain store in the ghost Town along with the preacher/Carny. I hate to see old circus  photos of all those poor animals that never should’ve been used for our entertainment in the first place. And to think there’s still so much of it going on especially in these backwoods towns. and what was with the raggedy looking stuffed tiger head sitting next to him? Was  this one of his “exhibitions” that he had stuffed ?’ Just so sad all around really depressing show.
not to mention how I can’t stand anyone on it anymore after reading all about the back stage crap going on with Frank and Mike and his new trashy girlfriend.

I've quit watching.  Too many bad vibes, and I needed to trim some TV viewing anyway.  This seemed like a logical place to start.

mikes girlfriend: “In addition to her reality TV background, Leticia's also appeared in "Playboy" and "Maxim" ... and once went on Howard Stern's radio show and rode his Sybian vibrator in the nude.”

good old fashioned mid-western values.🤣

I'm sensing a pattern here.  Maybe they can change the name of the show to "Naked and Afraid Picking".

Is this a composite? In other words, a repeat?

My impression is that new episodes resume tonight, and on the following Saturdays.  I've been watching Pawn Stars' latest run, which has been on Saturday, and now that it's stopped it appears American Pickers will be taking its place.  But as I said before, I won't be watching.

I love antiques, old signage and vehicles, so I'm still watching for that.  The bowling alley they featured was so cool, it's now on my list of places I'd love to visit, even though I don't bowl.

It's a shame that Frank isn't associated with the show anymore, but it does sound like there was a lot of personal stuff going on which is sad but he seems to be on a good road now.  They don't owe us any explanations.

I haven't stopped watching out of some sense of revenge or hate for Mike, Danielle, etc.  I just think I watch too much TV as it is, and I've watched a lot of episodes of American Pickers.  Frank was my favorite on the show, and now that I know he won't be on there anymore, I don't really feel the need to watch.  Seems like a natural stopping point.

It’s not the same anymore. Watching millionaires go “picking”. I’d love to know the facts behind the Frank problem. I think we are entitled to know. You put yourself in the public eye like that, you are fair game.
Had to fast forward they all the skating stuff. This is what they’ve come to now?
Never could stand Mikes brother. Something about him. Not that they all aren’t phonies.

I agree about the millionaires trying to haggle.  It takes the fun out of it.

As for Frank, reading between the lines it sounds like he had a bad back that was very painful, which may have led to some substance abuse issues.  If that's the case, then his friends and family may have had to cut the cord.

Finally, Mike getting divorced and hooking up with a stripper/porn star shouldn't bother me, but it does and I can't help it.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that skanky move!🤢🤮

And don't forget Danielle is a stripper herself, of sorts (burlesque).  I've always thought there was something skeevy about Mike's friendship with her.  As you say, it probably shouldn't bother me, but it does.  I've always wondered what his wife thought about it.

As for Frank, I have no inside information.  But if I'm guessing, I'm thinking maybe his issues caused some problems with filming, and when his back forced him to take some time off, Mike used that opportunity to replace him with his brother and the other guy whose name escapes me.

Frank's modest purchases seemed more realistic and grounded on the show than Mike's extravagant ones.  That was one reason I missed him on the show.

I am in the minority that enjoys the show without Frank.  I read a few articles about him having an addiction and being in and out of rehab.  Maybe they felt he needed to be cut out of their lives.  Not sure.

How sympathetic & compassionate of them. No one is telling the whole story but he doesn’t seem like an out of control addict. This is a man they have been friends with for decades. I’d like to know what’s going on behind the scenes. Sorry but when you make millions being a public figure you lose a lot of your privacy. & you owe the people who made you filthy rich a true story/ explanation. No sugar coating.

Seriously, if he had a bad back he may have come by his addiction (if there is one) honestly.  A lot of people become addicted to pain killers when they have a chronic painful condition and are prescribed pain killers.  I agree Frank doesn't seem to have been too out of control, or we would have heard something, while admitting we don't know the whole truth.  Still, it doesn't sit well.

Yawn yawn yawn. . A whole show on A camera. Oh and someone coming in and appraising a couple items that they already bought. I guess I’ve just lost my passion for this show. After reading too much about the peoples personal lives and how the show has gone so downhill from them digging through junk and finding treasures which was so interesting to all the bullshit they have on now

You can always come to the dark side and stop watching.  :)  Let's face it, these shows are very repetitive as they've been looking for the same things forever.  How many signs and motorcycle parts can you look at?  Frank was one of the main reasons I still watched the show, and with him gone, it was a good excuse to stop.

Anyone watch the new one? Good time to put this show out of its misery. I can barely watch Mike anymore without thinking what a dirtbag he is. Always hated his brother, Danielle seems phony. The picks suck. They are all millionaires, this is such b.s.  But I keep on watching for the different locales & to see if any items interest me.

Well, that's sad news.  I hope Frank makes a full recovery.  Regarding Mike and Frank's friendship, I'll just say this:  They certainly aren't the only entertainment partners who ran into problems with their friendships, going back to Abbott and Costello, Lewis and Martin, The Everly Brothers, Simon and Garfunkel, Lennon and McCartney, etc.

I stopped watching two years ago.

I've dropped American Pickers, but I'm still watching Pawn Stars.  The advantage with Pawn Stars is they show a wider variety of items, and Rick's knowledge of history is impressive.  It also helps that they've kept the original cast, except for the Old Man, who passed on (RIP).

It's too bad that both American Pickers and Pawn Stars are both among the most fake reality shows on TV.  I can't quote a source or provide a link off the top of my head but if you search for "fake reality shows" I'm sure you'll find them.   I do believe Rick is knowledgeable about history but working from a script sure helps him.

I wasn't referring to the items found, bought or sold but rather to the fact that they were planted/priced in advance and the dialogue is mostly scripted.

Yeah, I'm not denying that.  Or anything really, when it comes to reality television.  I do think they bring in some items just to show them, with no intention of anyone selling or buying them though, just because they're interesting.

What the hell is happening to even the camera angles on the show? Who the hell is filming this? We get to see more of those idiots faces hands bodies and asses climbing up a ladder then we do on some of the items that they are looking at. Last show they had a sign that was sideways and they talked about for five minutes and they couldn’t turn the camera around and show us the sign correctly. That’s just one example. This shows sucks so bad I can’t wait till it goes off the air because I can’t stop watching it in case there’s something I might want to see. But lately not so much.

on another note what is going on with Frank? I saw online that he had a stroke and he’s in the hospital doing really poorly.

Even Jersey John or whatever his name is, is starting to grate.
Like so many other minutes I’d my life , I wonder: where the **** do these people get the money to accumulate all this $$ stuff. And the buildings to house them?! I know my husband and I worked hard all our lives and are still not even “comfortable “. What a shitty world.
