So were the Yankees going to let these two morons in before MLB stepped in?

According to interviews with the morons themselves, they were indeed told by security that they were fine for tonight's game.  In fact, one of them claimed that all the staff know that he and his pal 'patrol the wall' in that part of the field and that they have often spoken of interfering with play to help the Yanks.

These nitwits are also Yankees season ticket holders, no word on whether they'll be permanently banned from buying again. Probably not, but they should.  If nothing else, move them to seats well away from the field.

Fans are nuts and you absolutely can't even have a whiff of condoning the intent to physically engage with a player to effect the result of a play.

These two morons might just be morons but sooner rather than later the result won't be so benign.

I'm shocked the Yankees even considered letting them back for the liability factor alone.

Exactly.  If you watch the video, one of the fools actually grabbed Betts' other hand to pull it away from the ball in the glove while his pal was going for the ball.  He could've easily broken or dislocated his wrist.  I think an assault charge would be in order at this point.

You'd think the players association would want this sort of thing punished more severely.  Even if they don't intend  to, who would trust random idiots to not accidentally hurt a player when pulling a stunt like this?  If they get a slap on the wrist and the love of many fans, why wouldn't someone else try to do the same thing?

Of course, I have no doubt they'll pull the victim card if the Yanks do come down hard on them.

I was thinking the same thing. Those idiots grabbed Betts as he was leaping, they could have taken his arm off. I'm surprised Betts is handling it so well, at least publicly. Who knows what he's saying privately. But it was assault, and it wouldn't be out of line for them to be charged.

Not to mention the black eye given to NY sports fans in front of the whole country (and world). Nice going, morons.

Bro douches can now bond over being dumb.

I think everyone is expecting this series to go back to LA. Cole will probably have a great game. I knew I couldn’t have nice things!

I think someone was going to allow them to throw out the opening pitch, let alone attend Game 5

Of course they were college friends.  Of course.

According to Rob, he knew the guy at college.  Not, they were friends.

Guess he learned such sloppy behavior during his time as a Pirate.

Still a rather painful segment after not giving up a hit prior to a collapse.

Looks like he’s righted the ship after a disaster inning. The Dodgers used most of their pitchers yesterday so the Yankees have a good chance of winning.

While Aaron having to pull him for the same dude that he did in Game One was fair enough this time, I have my doubt here.  The pitchers might be done, but it appears that New York has a bullpen as good as they had last Friday.  Meaning that it might not matter.  And until proven otherwise, it will not matter in 2 days.

Wow congrats to them! Was not expecting it at all yet they somehow pulled it off. Lots of screaming and tears of happiness in our house.

Love seeing all those Yankees fans filing out so fast. Too bad, so sad.

You just know there was a GoFundMe in the works to send those two dopes to LA for Game 6.

Probably should have been 3-2 heading back to LA (or even 2-3).  I say that feeling horrible for Cole for his efforts on a defensive level only for everybody else to barf up their soul & whatever else.  To add insult to injury it didn't look like that early on, though probably a meaningless segment since they might have lost anyway out West.

Well, that mean no November baseball.  Oh well ha ha!

They literally gave me a fucking stomachache.

Well at least I have the Duke Blue Devils to look forward to, as deity knows I can’t rely on the New York Football Giants for anything.

So long until February, and thanks for all the fish.

Didn't think The Yankees were going to win the title had they won this game, and I know the Dodgers needed to win 4 games, not 5.  As mentioned, too bad for Cole, but there are about 181 reasons why the outcome was what it was

8 titles for the Dodgers.  Thought they'd have more but whatever.  Not 20 more than they have now, but it feels like I thought they've have more in their history.

I'm not going to be around to see LA overtake NY in terms of titles. FYI: I'm neither rooting for nor against that. Everyone else here & wherever might be alive for it; however in terms of stats it is amazing that LA did 2 things unprecedented to open and close the Fall Classic!

In reference to the above joke or jokes, the biggest comeback in World Series history (to clinch it I believe).  After the style of Los Angeles' walk off on Friday...YIKES!  What has New York done to where they have to be on the incorrect side of unfortunate history?

No reason this series shouldn't be going to the weekend.  While they might not have won it, what a painful way to crumble in the most important part of the season!

I guess I'm happy as a Mets fan. Yankees fans go another year without a title, Mets fans can say their team managed to push the Dodgers for six games.

I got hopes this time, Mets. Don't fuck it up!

I was seeing the touring production of Kimberly Akimbo tonight.  When we arrived Shake Shack for dinner, it was 5-0 Yankees.  Of course, the 5th had just started, and it was 5-5 by the time we left.  As soon as intermission started, I checked the score, and it was 7-6 Dodgers with 1 out in the top of the 9th.  About four minutes before the end of intermission, the Dodgers closed it out, and the theater just erupted in cheers.  Perfectly timed, boys!  It was such a cool, unique way to celebrate this WS win, and I LOVE that Mookie was one whose sacrifice fly scored the winning run!

P.S. The show was really good, too!

At the end of the day, the one good thing, on a sports level, is that the world title drought that lasted for over a dozen years for New York City has come to an end

Happy for Stewie, she grew up a town over from me so I’ve followed her career since high school, and yet her victory in no measurable well makes me feel even a bit better.

I might get into this on a bigger scale, but I do not have to be a New York fan to know that it changes nothing in terms of the current feeling.  Honestly, mojoween: I think you deserved a better outcome on your special day.  At least last night, but I hope overall the day ends up more positive.

Easier said than done of course; a real fan is supposed to feel horrible after that outcome.  Other than the fourth & final NFL Wild Card Game from the 2011 season, I was anything other than pleasant following a non-favorable result.

Regardless: In lieu of any live sports I might have to tune into all the sports Media reaction for what's next.  At the very least there will be a lot

Congrats to the Dodgers. Yay. Again, watching this World Series & rooting for either of these 2 teams is like rooting for Jerry Jones & his loser son Stephen Jones.

As a tribute to being John Sterling's final season as a radio broadcaster, all I have to say about this result is this. "Yankees Lose!! Thaaaaaaa Yankees Lose!!!!"

Man, i just wish that we have a live reaction to Game 5 from those 2 moron Yankee fans & Stephen A Smith. I really hope that Stephen A Smith was crying in his bed after last night's result.

I disagree.  That would require Dallas actually playing for the title

One other thing that I find deeeeeeeelicious: Alex Verdugo, who said the 2020 WS didn't count (I don't think any of the 2020 championships count either, actually, but I would have the grace to remain publicly silent about that if I were a professional athlete), easily struck out for the series-clinching out.

Does it count now, cupcake?

Well, no, just because Cole opted out doesn’t mean he’s a free agent yet. The Yankees can void the opt-out, it tacks on an extra year and $36M if they do.
