Lantern7 May 23 Share May 23 I get posts from teams in my Facebook feed because I've clicked baseball stuff. I few times, I wound up thinking, "Guys, you beat the Rockies. Is that worth bragging about?" Meanwhile, while I wasn't noticing, the Phillies overtook the Mets for the NL East lead. Looks like the luster is starting to wear off. I hope it doesn't get to a point where fans start booing Soto. For one thing, that situation might end up like the one with Lindor, only without the impressive rebound in future seasons. For another, it would get Yankees fans all tingly. I don't want that. Oh, and I saw the montage of Jacob deGrom's duel with Aaron Judge. Looking at his stats, I'm happy deGrom is achieving decent numbers. I also got a chuckle seeing an ESPN ticker and finding out Wilmer Flores homered. I can't believe "Walk Off Wilmer" was almost ten years ago. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2463-mlb-thread/page/394/#findComment-8669345

It sucks for Colorado, that's a fact... ...but? Try having a team that is a game or two away from being under .500 as a franchise since Day One. Not a big deal? That same team was (roughly) 400 games OVER .500 as a franchise 45 years ago. Therefore, I'd go with the opposite take. They're still colossal failures, but there's another franchise that's saying, "Hold My Beer." Unless the Rockies had a 500-game swing in the wrong direction in terms of win percentage or the equivalent Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2463-mlb-thread/page/394/#findComment-8669786

If it makes you feel better, the Mets will be following their series with the Dodgers against the White Sox and Rockies. Be honest: which New York baseball team is more prone to curses? Speaking of the Mets . . . I've been looking at ESPN.com, and I thought they were cooked. Apparently, they show more life than the Knicks. Three runs in the bottom of the ninth . . . and I can't tune in for extra innings because the game is streaming on Apple, and I don't seem to have an account on my iPad. Fucking streaming. mojoween May 25 Share May 25 I’m not a gambler, but I am curious about something. They announced an in-game parlay early in the Yankee game and I think the pitcher did meet his part, but what if he hadn’t before the game went into a rain delay, since he wouldn’t be pitching again after waiting nearly two hours? Is that just “sucks to be you, pitcher should have thrown more strikes before it started raining”, or do you get your money back for circumstances out of your control? Big time. 😠 IMO, being recognizable to the masses has always been the downside to success in fields that are public-facing. But years ago it used to mean that people might interrupt someone while they were enjoying a meal, not threaten their life or the lives of their family members.
