If so, then Sam served his purpose as Rachel's fuck buddy to get her back to dating.

This is  what Mercedes ordered him to do, so he did his job.  If he doesn't end-up with Mercedes, that will mean that Sam Evans is every Glee girls mid-game, never their end-game.

Filming information for tomorrow (Wednesday, February 18)

Yes, the Tonys are being shot tomorrow. It’s a big shoot. Expect to see a red carpet, security guards, ushers, people escorting the award winners on stage, bartenders, etc.

In addition, they’re shooting a Nationals competition involving the current New Directions. The other competing teams are the Harmony Busters and the Sopranogasms. This filming includes a results ceremony.

Hey it's all good, Rachel wins a Tony and the new Noobs win a National championship their first time out!  LOL

I was/am hoping the Nationals they are filming is a future ND team or still for the other episode.  Hope they do not waste Dreams come true on that.

I think Rachel's Tony win will probably  in the future 5/6 yrs.

Jane was too because we all know how many people are wishing for more Jane solos.

Matt was the last one in for glee recordings.  They are officially done.

@Matt_Morrison and I just finished the very last Glee cast session. Wow! Not sure what to feel right now.

Well if the new Noobs win Nationals, this would be obviously due to Kurt and Rachel's extraordinary coaching, taking and molding sophomores into becoming National champs.

If there is a 5 year flash forward...

Rachel will win a Tony.

Mercedes will be a Grammy award winning singer.

Artie will be an Oscar winning Director.

I'm not so sure about Kurt and Blaine.  Maybe Kurt will morph back into fashion (with naturally no onscreen exposition other than wave away 5 + plus years of Kurt trying to make it as a perfomer) and Blaine will become songwriter/composer.

Better yet, Kurt is the costume designer and Blaine is the composer of Rachel's BW shows...

You know what I really hate about the way this show is ending. Everyone is basically suppose to have a rosy future and absolutely no-one has been shown to struggle or work hard for anything. These so called losers, to a man and woman, have pretty much got everything they want in life handed to them, I hope no-one watching is inspired to go into the arts because they'll be in for a rude awakening.

urg I know I will sound like  a complete stan but everyone winning an award would just lessen it for everyone.

I felt the same way as nearly everyone and their brother trying performing  arts as a career.

I don't think it will lessen anyone because they are not competing with each other. Each of these characters will be gaining acknowledge of their hard work in their field. It's like everyone will be getting a Tony or Grammy or Oscar.

But I guess the writers could just have all the characters be successful without an award.

You know if they really wanted to honor the arts and education the newbies wouldn't win sectionals let alone nationals and Rachel would tell Will that, while her time with ND gave her the time she needed to set her spine towards giving New York another try, she realizes that it takes someone with the gift for teaching, like he and others have (cue a glance at Finn's plaque) to build a championship team while making a difference in kids lives.

Instead Glee will hammer home that teaching is a fallback profession for those who can't be on stage, either because they aren't special enough or because they have torpedoed their career. And for those who have torpedoed their stage careers, they magically build a championship team in a year because they are just that special.

Well Brittany and Santana aren't getting or doing anything extraordinary. They're going back to school, as of 6x06. Quinn is still at Yale, Puck is still in the Army. Idk what Mike is doing, but I'm assuming he's still in school. And none of them are back for the flashforward (as far as we know), so unless someone drops a line about it, I'm assuming they're leading normal lives, whether that's in the arts or elsewhere.

True the popular kids at the beginning of the show end up leading the ordinary lives while the so-called losers get everything they ever dreamed of and then some.  I swear at some point Glee morphed into RM's very expensive therapy. The show ends the popular kids, like the ones he resented in school living ordinary lives, while the special ones, like him, achieve fame and fortune.

I think two of the losers won't get fame and fortune - Kurt and Tina.

This is why he is ending the show with an episode center around the "losers" while the popular kids that are in it, are just there to support them and show how they were destiny to be great from the start even when they and everyone else considered them to be losers. lol

Link to comment

I know he was always supporting but the show completely lost any interest in Artie at all. They don't even bother to explain his being in Lima, Ohio during the school year. Practically no mention of his directing classes, or Mercedes singing, much less Kurt and his NYADA/theatre aspirations. Blaine hasn't even been given a career ambition.

It just seems that the show completely lost interest in the hopes and career dreams of any character not named Rachel Berry. I understand that Rachel is the leading character and star of the show, but one would think the writers would *care* enough about the other characters to want to complete a jouney for them.

The impression I get is that the writers are just so beyond bored and *done * with the Glee characters. They seem to be looking past them to their next gig.

The sad thing is they haven't even done Rachel's journey right. Surprisingly it started out decent enough but it went downhill with The Hurt Locker 1& 2 and especially with Mercedes coming in and handing her another opportunity at Broadway.  They should have used these episodes to show Rachel gaining a love for simply performing again (versus being a star) and then after the kids lose sectionals she leaves ND's in Will's capable hands while she heads back to NY either to go to school again or audition for anything and everything.  The "flash forward" ends with her joyously making her debut in an off Broadway musical so we know she is on her way again.  Giving her both Broadway and NYADA as options in real time and a nationals win with ND and a Tony in the flash forward is unearned wish fulfillment fanfic.

Of course it isn't just her that is being written this way (Mercedes is also on quite the run but at least she picked herself up after her failures) but since it is her journey that is getting the focus it is the one that the audience is going to focus on.

That's what I meant that the writers have completely lost interest.  They seem so focused on getting Rachel to point D:  winning a Tony award and regaining stage success that they simply don't care how they get her there.

It's almost like Rachel's career success is the equivalent of , say, getting Sam hypnotized to have to kiss Rachel and jump start a romance, it's so contrived and blatantly manufactured because they can't be bothered to write her an actual journey.

The weird thing is one would think this is would be  more tedious and  boring to the writers than actually fleshing out an interesting premise for Rachel.   Oh well, it's too late now.

I was thrilled that Santana mentioned going back to college in 606 but I laughed that she said she would give NYU a try.  It is one of the most competitive schools in the country and an Louisville drop-out wouldn't have much of a chance.  I would overlook a lot if they would just have one the the kids (Blaine, Santana or Brittany) go the the oft used for TV fake "Hudson University."

She actually said "NYU or Columbia" which........Santana, ilu but no, you aren't going to Columbia.

Although she could probably get into Tisch. She's a multiple national cheerleading champion and a show choir national champion, with a national commercial and mall tour under her belt. Tisch would definitely take her.

That is why I don't mind Mercedes "wins" as much. Nobody is helping her. Nobody is pumping her up, telling her how special she is. Well Sam did for a while, until Mercedes decided he needed to provide his services to Rachel. So they "gave" Mercedes a recording contract? Fine by me. Because when she lost it, again she was the one who had to find a way forward. She was selling CD's out of the back of her car. Nobody called in a favor for her. And when when she did get another shot, she tried to bring her friend along (Santana) and give her a shot too. Now I thought Mercedes was definitely stepping over her bounds (girl, get a hit before you start making demands!) But I thought it was sweet that she obviously wasn't worried about someone else stealing her shine. So my hope for her in this flash forward is a Grammy win and sold out tours and a great guy that hasn't dated or even met any of the people she has gone to school with.

I don't see the big deal about everyone shown succeeding in some way. Shows typically do this when they're ending - the happy ending for everyone (except for the ones that try the surprise ending where everything was suddenly a dream and not real). Glee was, theoretically at least, a show about the performing arts so it's hardly a surprise that most of the characters will be shown succeeding in some way. I doubt it will take away from Rachel as the brightest, shiniest star that ever was. It's been hammered home for much of the show's run and I doubt it will change in the end. And I say this as someone who's always liked Rachel well enough.

They may not give the rest as prominent successes as Rachel. I expect the focus to be on her and the Tony, not on the others' successes. But that the others can get some is fine by me. I've waited so far for someone (other than second-time Carmen) to appreciate Kurt as a performer, so I'll take a success if they throw one his way.

Is it clear if the presumed Nationals win of the Glee Club is several years in the future to coincide with Rachel's Tony, or is it for the current crop of kids when Will takes over from Kurt and Rachel?

With how season 6 is going so far it's possible we won't even get an update on anyone's career except for special snowflake Rachel's.

We don't even know what Blaine will do after Dalton burns down, as he and Kurt can't keep coaching ND forever when Will is back. But I guess Klaine getting married solves all those mundane problems, just like their inability to live together for a few weeks without fighting and breaking up again.

It's kinda sad how the participated ending for the female lead we were supposed to root for, which was her continuing story for 6 seasons, feels so anti-climatic and is frankly leaving me completely cold now.

Maybe Blaine reapplies to NYADA and manages to get himself into all of Kurt's classes like he did before and this time it doesn't bother Kurt, just like living together is a piece of cake with those magic wedding rings on their fingers.

Link to comment

I'm hoping Blaine might decide that teaching is his thing and he'll go back to school for that.

Kurt really needs to do something more suited to him like fashion.

Rachel, I'm tired of her always getting her way in the end. I look forward for her meetup with Carmen, maybe she'll get a well deserved dressing down. But knowing this show, Carmen will welcome her back with open arms.

I  always wanted Kurt in fashion and he would do some kick ass performance art fashion shows.   He would revolutionize the way runway shows are produced.

Performance art fashion show is the perfect storm of the two, but still includes performance. I bet he can stage a runway in a circus with models flying around in harnesses lol. That I don't know if anyone has done (?)

I wouldn't have minded Kurt going into fashion if the show would have let go once and for all that Kurt's dreams/goals were performing, instead they had him actually going to NYADA and still intent in making it as a performer. I mean up to Season 5 he was focused in the arts and wondering if he could make it as a performer, thus forming his band, etc.

Everyone kept on telling Kurt to hang in there because he would make it and he was so talented that the world would eventually see his gifts. Over and over and over.

So now if they switch his career without so much as a fucking SL to explain it would be so annoying.

Mind you, Glee is fully capable of doing that.

Well knowing these writers, I'm sure in their minds, his brief second storyline at Vogue.com with SJP's character was explanation enough. And they might even argue that it their way of clearly setting up his future in fashion and viewers just weren't paying enough attention.

Edited by truthaboutluv

NYADA and performing has firmly been Kurt's goal since the beginning of season 3 (when after seasons 1 and 2 it could have gone both ways: performing or fashion), and that goal has been consistent for 3 1/2 seasons now.

Him getting the Vogue internship was a temporarily sidestep into the other thing he was interested in: fashion, but it never was his career goal. It was just something to do for him in New York untill he got into NYADA.

But of course the writers went OTT with it by making him get into a prestigeous company as Vogue, which normally wouldn't happen. In the end it turned out to be nothing else than a way to have Sarah Jessica Parker sing on the show and give Rachel a make-over. It never really was about Kurt at all (nor was NYADA much for that matter, but I digress).

It's ironic that Kurt is the only one of the 3 characters on the show who got into NYADA and who actually is still studying there, when he had to struggle harder and was the less likely to succeed of those 3 (with Rachel being just that special, and Blaine the straight passing acapella dreamboat).

To take NYADA and a (if only modest) performing career away from him in the final episode to exchange it for fashion (because he isn't allowed to get some spotlight as a singer next to Rachel and maybe Blaine?) would be disrespectful and insulting to the character.

So it's quite possible that Glee will do exactly that.

My only problem with Mercedes getting her second record contract was she walked away from her first, completely for the right reasons, but she still walked away. Instead of being incredibly thankful for a second chance she's seen making demands to get the contract, then demands Santana. The Santana thing might've worked if she'd said 'I've got this friends, she's a great singer, you should listen to her...'

The best of singers start out as backing singers or performing in small venues, they don't go right to the top, unless they go on a reality TV show or something similar. And if they start making demands their dropped, sharpish.

Ending with Rachel getting a Tony or Mercedes getting a Grammy feels unearned. I don't want to see any of them winning awards. I want to see them all working, and not all of them in the arts. And I'd like to see one or two with kids of their own.

Just seen picture of Kitty in her 'warbler' uniform. Wow, it takes a lot to make Becca Tobin look bad but Glee succeeded.

Also why is Tina asking Puck and Artie of all people for advice this week? I know they've given her no female friends, but Puck's never been a friend, Artie's her scumbag ex that she dumped for being a terrible boyfriend, thinks it's okay to push her about and cries like a baby when she does it to him. Ugh.

So far this season they've ruined Santana, Mercedes, Kitty, Tina was pretty ruined already but their really finishing her off, I wouldn't be surprised if they ruin Quinn without her reappearing. So pretty much every female character not named Rachel Berry.

So I saw the promo that says that somebody gets hitched and somebody gets ditched at the Wedding.  Well, the person getting ditched is obviously Tina.  Why would RIB miss an opportunity to sh*t on Tina one last time?

I don’t expect Mercedes to "win" anything on this show.   This is the same show that snatched away all of her friends, all her chances at ND competition solos and even her man and gave them all to Rachel.  They even turned her into Rachel Berry's Magic Negro to ensure that Rachel Berry achieves her dreams.   So, no.  I don’t expect to see Mercedes do anything in the finale other than sing Rachel Berry’s praises and cheer Rachel Berry on when Rachel Berry receives her Tony award. It makes me almost glad that we never saw Mercedes’ parents. Knowing this show, they would had taken one look at Rachel and instantly decided to disown Mercedes and adopt Rachel while the declaring her to be the bestest and shiniest daughter EVAH!

If any of them will have kids, it will probably be at least Blaine and Kurt--with Kurt putting on productions at the kids' preschool or something like that. He'd get to perform and use his sparkly education!

ETA: Hopefully, Walter isn't Kurt's date to the Brittana wedding and he gets ditched there! But the guy is pretty easy-going so--before or after Kurt decides on an impromptu, quicky wedding to Blaine--he'll probably take it as smoothly as Karofsky.

I think Kurt will end things with Walter off-screen, not in this episode. Because I doubt the writers want to remind us how much of a mistake it is that Klaine are getting marry. Them getting marry in the same episode they reunite in is already bad enough.

They might have Mike accept Tina's proposal at the being of the episode and then have her/him get cold feet at the end.

Also, to the writers, Mike not accepting Tina's proposal might be the definition of ditch.

I don't see the writers making it worst by having Kurt dump Walter in the same episode, showing that he was in a relationship right-up until he marry Blaine.

Rachel wins a Tony award and thanks Mr Schue, Jesse St James, Kurt, her dads and Finn

Kurt is at Nationals with the NNND

St Berry is endgame
