Not Brittany, Santana, or Quinn. *throws confetti*

Stop gloating.

Nor Puck.

There's one whole episode that's plenty of time for this writing time to ruin everyone!

I say this as someone who wants Brittana ruined!

Tina is appearing.   How high  is the bar raised  for her I shudder to think.

Can she sing, stay sane, not throw herself at Blaine or prop up Rachel!

I will say that I hope "2009" was completely pulled, not just moved to be the end. I was never a Finn fan, but to do an episode set at a time he was alive without Cory was ridiculous. And to shoehorn Blaine in was even more ridiculous.

While Sectionals takes place in the penultimate episode, the series finale is going to be mainly slower ballads and solos as each character gets their final chance to shine in the spotlight for a much more emotional and powerful episode rather than big budget performances. Our advice? Stock up on Kleenex…now.

Calling it now.

Rachel, Blaine and New Direction kids solos,  a Samchel duet and a final group number with Kurt, Artie, Tina and Will swaying in the background but with Mercedes getting the closing glory notes.

Oh and a Klaine Duet which  is 90 % Blaine and Kurt singing backup for a couple of lines.

I just want to point that, unlike what some speculated, sectionals is not the last episode but rather  the next to the last episode. Also since sectionals is 612 and Jesse is in 613 that means it is unlikely he is VA's coach.  Either that or he is both their coach and is there to serve a purpose for Rachel's future story.

As far as airing my guess is the episodes will air in this order

  • 3/6 = "The Rise and Fall of Sue Sylvester" (611 production/610 airing).  This one is confirmed.
  • 3/13  = "We Built This Glee Glub" (612 production/611 airing)
  • 3/20, part 1 =  "2009"  (609 production/612 airing)
  • 3/20, part 2 =  "Dreams come True" (613 production/613 airing)

But the actors won't be there, so I won't be watching, so I don't care.

And like, honestly, I hate myself for this one last gasp of giving a shit, but...what the hell were they playing at, dragging Mark back for a bunch of non-speaking, non-singing cameos while pretty much every other minor cast member who's ever appeared gets more to do, and then not even letting the character or the actor take a goddamned bow? Why not just leave him out entirely if they weren't going to do anything with him? And the last glimpse will be of the gross bully he was? It's not like they can claim scheduling issues as with Dianna/Harry, and at least Santana/Brittany get a goodbye, even if not in the finale.

It's almost comforting, how much they want to prove they can always find a lower place.

Well if Dreams are coming true in the finale then that means all the set up this season for many of these characters career wise will happen.

Rachel- Broadway

Will- ND's coach

Sam- Head Coach; again this is Sam's endgame. It cannot be done at Mckinley. Beiste is the HC at Mckinley and he's not gonna retire anytime soon. Sue said the job would be waiting for him upon his return and he was in tears at the fear of losing his job. So the question becomes what fictional school and where will Sam become the head coach at? Beiste is also in the finale and I still believe his role is to help Sam get that HC job as a thank you for everything he's done for him. I have my preference of where the job will be but that's my opinion.

Kurt and Blaine- I have no idea, because they haven't focused much on their careers this season at all. Just their relationship... so children? IDK, I hope not though.

Mercedes- Grammy award winning artist

Tina- engaged to Mike(so sad that this is what this character comes down to)

Artie- Oscar winning director

"Dreams Come True" all around and as for songs...

I hope most if not all the original 5 get one, Samchel duet or Sam solo, Blaine solo and Will. I also have a strong preference that Will sings Viva La Vida, the song he was supposed to sing in The Pilot instead of "Leaving on a Jet Plane".

Am I missing when Sam expressed this driving passion to be a head coach some where?  Am I also missing where Beiste has made a commitment to Sam to find him a head coaching position?  I realize some people want that but there has been no indication or spoilers that is what is going to happen.  Only speculation stated as fact.  It could be that Sam's ending is as Sheldon's assistant coach with the promise that when Sheldon retires he can take over.  That would fit in with Sam wanting to stay in Ohio despite finding success elsewhere.

Mercedes - yes, and in my head her Grammy award winning song is written by Marley.

Tina - Will still graduate from an Ivy League college. I want her to become a TV writer and write a show about a high school glee club. Also marries Mike

Artie - no. In my head he ends up directing porn!

I think Sam's dream to be coach was express in one line this season.  Personally, for me I think Sam's dream is to have a wife because that is what Sam have been trying to get since he got on the show.

Mark is even participating in Brad's charity event this weekend yet RIB couldn't bother putting him in the finale?

I think he might be doing it for future work with them.

Also, if they do really make episode 2009, the final episode, then that means he is in the finale.

Sam mentioned wanting to be head coach a few episodes ago I believe. It was sort of out of nowhere though. But alas.

Oh I know he mentioned it once but from what I have seen it isn't this passion driving him.   More like if it happens some day, terrific.  That is why I could easily see him being perfectly content as Sheldon's assistant until he retires in 10-15 years.

My guess is they felt like Quick got their endgame last year.  They are together.  Puck has found a purpose in the Air Force,  Quinn is happily enrolled in college.

Also this finale episode is has the 5 original choir members (to fit in with 2009)  and Blaine and Sam who RM and team seem to think are the two leading men of Glee.

As for the finale songs I still hope there is a way they work Cory's "This is not the End" in there,  if only as a song to transition between scenes.  Even before Cory passed I thought it would be a terrific song for the final episode of Glee.

It was stated and shown in JLT that Sam wants to be a head coach, because it's something he's good at. He likes it, he expressed this to many people including Beiste and Spencer. It's very clear that Sam will not be an assistant because he does not like that position. He made that point clear in the premiere when he was complaining about not being able to have any power over the players.

As far as Beiste helping Sam get a coaching job I think that's a pretty justifiable speculation based on the nature of Beiste's character. He always shows appreciation for people that help him and Sam has definitely helped him during a very hard time in his life. So it would not surprise me if in the finale he surprises him with a head coaching opportunity in another school in another city.

He will also not get Beiste's slot as episode 3 made it very clear that Beiste wants to keep his job as head coach. He was crying at the fear of losing his job so he's not gonna lose it and Sam would not take it from him. That's not in his character and he wouldn't allow that to happen.

So yes I think it's easily within Beiste's character to help Sam land a head coaching position somewhere else and I believe that place will be in NY but we'll just wait and see. Beiste is in the finale as well, he's in the character list.

One could just as easily say the same thing about just about any of the characters at various times. Artie and Tina are just as happily enrolled in college. Brittany and Santana had as much "closure" in the 100th as Puck and Quinn, but they were still brought back this season to tell more of their story and give their characters a specific goodbye.

And by bringing Puck and Quinn back at all this season, they essentially "reopened" them, so now their final appearances are lame and anti-climactic and had nothing to do with them (and in Puck's case may only show his former awful self.) It's insulting.

Also they're never gonna last. Question is only will it be divorce after kids or will they see sense before it's too late.

I'm still willing to bet they will last in a marriage longer than Klaine.

Everyone will last longer in marriage than Klaine.

Despite not being a fan or really liking them, the only couple I don't think will end in divorce is Brittana.

Offscreen.

On screen they didn't last more than 2/3 of a school year.

Emma and Will have a shot unless Holly Holliday comes back to have a torrid affair with Will.

We met them at the end of their marriage when things were tough. When they wanted something different at the time. So we don't know really how their marriage was before and how great/bad they were before we met them.

But Klaine we know, because we have seen them on-screen for the past few yrs and now they are getting marry without really dealing with their problems. To me, that is a strong indicator that their marriage will probably not last.

I didn't include them in my comment because I thought that it was a giving they would last.

Obviously they wouldn't last in any sort of real world.  My point is that in RM & team's mind they have given them their endgame.  Both have found professional happiness and are happy with each other.  Sure they should have left well enough alone and not brought them back again this year after all that was settled.  Still nothing has really changed for them since it was settled in the 100 so that is why I don't think RM and team consider their ending re-opened.  And since they aren't a gay couple that RM & team can use to make a political statement about marriage they weren't ever going to get married on screen

As for the comparison to Tina my guess is she is back because she was one of the original 5 members of ND and those 5 plus Sam & Blaine seem to be the focus of the finale.

Well, they're assholes.

It isn't news. It's just the latest, and, I suppose, final example. At least re: Glee. Maybe with Dianna they didn't know it would be her last and the schedules couldn't work, but there's no excuse for bringing Mark back for four episodes to do nothing and then leave him out of the actual finale.

Becky seemed settled but RM brought her back for a pointless LI plot.  It boils down to that if RM wants to resuscitate someone's story regardless how complete it already  is,  he will.

I still think they will retcon Puck some in "2009" and make him the bully who isn't quite comfortable with it since Finn isn't there to fill that role.

Quinn and Puck are both straight and don't have a handicap.  Giving them more doesn't give RM & team recognition for being oh so inclusive.  Yes I really think it is that craven when it comes to Becky and frankly when it comes to the Santana/Brittany and Kurt/Blaine double wedding.

Well that would be dumb and a disservice to both Puck and Finn, but it wouldn't change the central point.

Why would they do that anyway? Seems to me the flashback stuff is likely to set up how the sacred "original 5" has come so far.

Agreed, but that's different from your original premise that if someone's story was "complete" RM wouldn't bring them back.

However bringing someone back to marginalize them and not actually give them a story, well along with Puck  I guess that the same honors would go this year to Dave Karofksy.  It's beyond pointless why they created Blainofsky since they spent most of the time trying to minimize it.

Puck is a head scratcher but I think it was just a cynical ploy to drum up PR for all the "Originals" being back and then sidelining them so RM could do his New Directions SL yet again at McKinley High.

No it is the same logic.  They finished their story last year much like finished Santana/Brittany and Becky's stories last season.  Still they brought the others back to give them the cherry on top of that finished story where they didn't feel the need to do that with Quinn/Puck because they are neither handicapped nor gay.

Reread your statement.  Bringing someone back because they are gay or handicapped is separate from whether their story is "complete".  It boils down to RM has no template, they just throw shit on the wall and bring back who they want when they want.

I did reread my statement and again it is the same logic.  All three stories were essentially finished last year.  Becky found happiness in college.  Santana/Brittany were back together.  Quinn/Puck were back together and Puck found a future.  There was no need to revisit any of them, because all three stories were essentially wrapped up, yet RM and team chose to revisit Becky and Santana/Brittany and I think that is because Becky is handicapped and Santana/Brittany can be used in a double gay wedding.   That gives Glee the "look at us we are so socially conscious" cred the show seems to crave.  There is no such cache with a Puck/Quinn wedding.

Fine,  but you've qualified your original premise:

My guess is they felt like Quick got their endgame last year.

from being that  if your story is complete no need to revisit  to " if your story is complete and your gay and handicapped your story may be re opened".

if that had been your premise from the beginning there wouldn't have been this confusion.  Otherwise Quick could have been revisited as was Becky and Quinn/Santana since all those stories were "complete"per that original premise, not just Quick.

I just think it has been very obvious that the reason Santana/Brittany and Becky's stories are all being revisited this year is because RM thinks it brings him "socially conscious cred."  Don't see how that is confusing at all especially since my second post on this subject said clearly

Thank you, you just made my point. People questioned the logic of your FIRST post and you qualified it by including "gay and handicapped" in your SECOND post after  posters responded.

FWIW, I actually agree with your qualified premise. However I also think that RM simply lost interest in Puck and Quinn as characters. Which goes back to Sneaker's lament on how they were treated.

1. I love how all the new kids have last names except Roderick.

2. All I wanted for the finale was all the originals back. Literally, they could do anything and I would've been mildly satisfied.

3. This season is fanfiction. My finale is 101 (because they can't top that Will moment). And everyone was back, and I could more easily imagine my own endings for people.

I wish the ending was like the ending of Ocean's 11 - all the characters standing on stage. The New Newbies leave first, then the newbies, then Bieste/Sue/Emma/Figgins, then Sugar/Joe/Rory/Zizes, then Blaine/Sam, then Puck/Mike/Matt/Quinn/Britt/Santana, then Kurt/Rachel/Tina/Artie/Mercedes. Will walks away last and turns the stage lights off, with just a soft light over the plaques of Finn and Lillian Adler. End series.
