Nadine February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 (edited) The interesting tidbit I took away from that small babies exchange at the beginning, was that she was reflecting about life in general. It could also be the kick in the pants she needs to go for a promotion like verdana put above, knowing that going for that test, there's less chance of putting yourself in danger in those positions (and stepping outside the comfortability of her job - yes it'd be a bit of a Watershed / DC rehash except in NYC). Lucynda February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I have nothing to add, except: I laughed every time they showed a flashback and switched from Season 6 Beckett to Season 7 Beckett. The difference in hair is so ridiculously crass. I am very intrigued about next week's episode. Isn't the one after that the first one they filmed this year? The one that is presumed to be Beckett-light because Stana attended multiple events? I wonder if that has anything to do with what happens to Beckett in 7x15. Link to comment

madmaverick February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 (edited) The episode was alright, but I didn't find it as suspenseful or as powerful on the characters as Amann likely intended. Problem I find with his writing and Marlowe's is that the story notes come off as generic and predictable, and the characters spend a lot of time doing exposition which takes away from the drama and the momentum, and even from their emotional moments. Sure, the characters had moments in the episode where they touched on how 3XK/Nieman had affected them, and it was good that they were written in, but it felt more like exposition than a well crafted emotional moment. I didn't mind the flashbacks but they might have worked even better if they'd been utilised to show what 3XK had cost our characters emotionally, and not just to show what he had actually done. Perhaps Castle and Ryan's sense of guilt needed more time to be explored in a more powerful way. But the writers didn't have time for that when what they really wanted to focus on 3XK guessing games. There's nothing wrong with writing generic and predictable stuff per se, if you write it really, really well. But I don't think Amann/Marlowe are quite there, having watched their serious dramatic thriller 2 parters over the years. Nor do i think romantic comedy is their strong point either. I didn't find this episode as emotionally compelling as the one when Alexis was kidnapped, but perhaps that will change with the next episode. I did like the end scene with Nieman and 3XK's smugness and that wink while Castle looked on with intense!face. That and Castle's face in the promo drew me in. The actors who played Nieman and 3XK did a good job. The villains are more interesting than they may be on paper due to their performances. I might have found them more scary if this was the first time we'd met them, but it's a case of diminishing creepy returns the more times a serial killer returns in my TV watching experience. You already know what to expect. The interrogation scenes were well done, even if predictable, but fortunately not too over the top. I also liked the role reversal with Castle in the cell and the scene there. Pretty tired though of mommy and daddy issues as the go to for all TV characters, killers included. My one complaint. Are we really supposed to believe that every single piece of evidence related to Jerry Tyson was kept in some boxes in the police precinct. They didn't have backups? That stuff's not electronic? If there's a fire all evidence on everyone the 12th precinct has arrested can go free? You only have one? :P Yeah, like everyone, it was really hard to suspend my disbelief about this in this day and age. I think they went overboard last time when they wrote in that wholesale theft. (By the way, I wonder if detectives are actually allowed to bring their files home? I would imagine not. Beckett seems to be bringing paperwork home these days. And I would imagine most of it is done electronically in real life.) The other main thing that required major suppression of Beckett style eye-rolling was her going about everywhere unaccompanied. The kidnapping at the end couldn't have been signposted any clearer. Maybe the writers didn't care that it was obvious as long as it was done? ;) But viewers expect more these days and other thrillers on TV do a good job of upending expectations. I'm not saying we needed to end with another burning car cliffhanger ;), but Beckett's kidnapping could have been carried out in a more sophisticated way. As a comparison, what happened on at the end of last week's Elementary (another crime procedural), I did not see coming! I just don't like it when they make any of the characters stupid. And like someone else said, why didn't they try to find Broudeau's family and see if Tyson/Broudeau's DNA matched instead of just looking for Tyson's family? I'm pretty sure Stana's still going to be the same, for better or worse, supermodel Beckett in 7x16. True that! That'll never change. She'll keep her supermodel looks on Nieman's operating table and when she's 9 months pregnant. I thought the high boots were a bit of an overkill, felt like supermodel!Beckett strutting her stuff for the audience rather than Beckett the cop going about her job. I know it's TV land and it looks hot as hell but I wish they could have shot her not from that angle to make it look less obvious. Me too. Could have done without the shot of her super high stiletto boots. That was a gratuitous shot taht took away from the drama of the moment for me. It was just kind of pandering in my opinion, but it's the kind of thing they want to go for judging from the proud tweets about boot porn and coat porn. ;) Aim higher, production. ;) If anyone watches The Fall with Gillian Andersen also playing a detective who exudes sensuality and wears gorgeous clothes, you can see how clothes there are made part of the character but without being overwhelming or gratuitous or like a different fashion catwalk every week. ;) Mostly felt meh about Alexis/Kate's little goodbye kiss. Nice, I guess, but since we've been barely given any meaningful insight into their budding relationship it doesn't feel earned. And not sure how I feel about Beckett calling Alexis 'bud' either. Along with Martha's 'babe'. And all these pet names. Beckett/Stana seems fond of them though. 'Bud' may be an adlib. Lanie is now 'Lane'. Esposito is 'Espo'. Just glad that Castle isn't 'Cas'. 'Babe/baby' is already a little weird for me coming from Beckett. I don't think they'll go as dark as a miscarriage or an infertility storyline. I really hope we don't see a pregnant Beckett anytime soon. I feel they jumped the gun a bit on Castle's proposal after just 1 season of dating and I feel they're jumping the gun now if Beckett's pregnant already. They were just married a couple episodes ago. Let them enjoy more of a honeymoon period since we never got to see one after they started dating. ;) Maybe they can just agree to start trying. And we can reap the benefits of a few more makeout scenes. ;) ETA: Wersching's new Amazon show Bosch is worth checking out. I watched the pilot a while ago and it was good. Also a detective show, but a cable type detective show for grown ups. Edited February 10, 2015 by madmaverick 3 Link to comment
readster February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 The problem was it just shows Tyson and Nieman as super villains that can do anything they want. I really would love to know how Nieman has all this money and contribute to all of these foundations and yet she cleared out as fast as she could in Disciple and not even the DA blinks and eye. Could have Tyson planted a fake baby tooth? I'm more inclined to think it was the beer bottle but really, that all the 3XK stuff not having some type of electronic back up, especially a DNA profile is just too stupid for words. I also like how Becket gets hit with the drug and just conveniently there is a wheelchair to make it look like she is a sick person. Especially when the said wheelchair was not quiet at all. Also, how much do you want to bet the recent "clone" ends up dead not long after the episode starts next week? These people that Tyson and Nieman find are really too stupid for words. Lainey explaining: "Let me guess, does a string of stupid stuff." "Can't afford rent then magically a great job with money under the table comes along." Tyson's whole "Following" power he has on all these people is just to make the story plots work. Especially the flashback showing him talking to Castle when he framed him. That still rings too super villain, also Nieman is apparently Dr. Trama from Spider-Man. She was a baby surgeon who hated seeing babies being born even though it was her profession. So, she started performing strange surgeries to give people powers or to see what would happen if she tried something another crazy scientist did. However, she didn't have unlimited money like Nieman so she works with mobsters to get money for her work. Yeah, Castle's work with 3XK is right up there with Red John on the Mentalist and another super villain on Bones I will not mention. Plus, can the show have a new DA, this one apparently is an idiot and we never see him. Yet, he has all the answers. I also would have loved if not only Tyson giving that creepy wink to Castle but then saying something about Gates family that would have made her realized, they were really played like he has done to Castle, Becket, Ryan and Espo and Lainey. merylinkid February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 That county clerk knew Beckett had been married before at a touch of a button from 15 years ago but they've mysteriously got nothing on 3XK. Maybe they should ask the county clerk since she seemed to have access to records from around the country. As to the police keeping evidence all in one place, sadly, police departments are woefully behind in joining the modern era. There is just not the budget to move everything over to digital. They do store everything in a box in one place, especially in open cases. But seriously, serial killer never went to a doctor, a dentist, was never in the military? Sure he got his baby tooth, but he can't get everything. Link to comment

TVHappy9463 February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 Some of it was cheesy, ( Alexis kiss, baby talk) but the stuff with Neiman and Tyson was good. Kate getting kidnapped was telegraphed, (Alexis kiss, baby talk). It is too soon for a baby, and if there is some crazy we find out Kate is preggers when she is in the hospital after being rescued I will spit ( x-files did it, Fringe did it, and countless others) or they could go the whole she lost the baby she didn't know she was carrying BS. Too many flashbacks, lazy way out of having to write dialogue. Hope Neiman and Tyson get away! Link to comment

I'd love them to have a longer talk about her career with the NYPD. I don't go much on that time traveller story about her becoming a Senator in the future. It's strange that she's still a detective ten years in despite her brilliance and has never taken the Sergeant's (?) exam which I presume is the next step up the ladder. It seems inconceivable to me that she's not thought about it or that no one has pressed her (like Montgomery or Gates) to take it. May be she's happy being a detective on the streets on the front line but starting a family may change all that. I know women shouldn't feel they have to take "safe" jobs once they become mothers (after all men don't get lambasted for continuing to do dangerous things once they become a parent) but it must be an issue that some women in these kinds of jobs do factor into their decision making. Samantha84 February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 Beckett walking, into a bust w. a serial killer, just made me roll my eyes! Seriously?!? I don't but Beckett as a detective b/c they've made her into a supermodel. There's no getting away from Stana's looks and that's my point. You can have her dress in appropriate attire, pull her hair back, and she'd still be gorgeous. EX: Rain attire and still gorgeous EX: Raid attire and still gorgeous In my opinion? Beckett just looks silly now. There's no air of realism to the character as far as detective goes. They [stana, Luke, Marlowe] are sacrificing beauty for realism. 2 Link to comment

You may die but at least you'll die with your waist looking good! Luckily, Beckett had the boys with her in that scene where Esposito kicked down the door. Honestly don't know if her 5 inch stilettos could have done the job without permanent damage. Anyone else want to see the dumb cloned girl who injected poor Beckett realize how dumb she's been as she lies on the operating table? Getting some Dexter vibes from the next ep. Are people ready to bid a final farewell to 3XK and Nieman with this 2 parter or they want to see more 'Ed Turner'? ;) 'm ready for them to get their comeuppance. The family/career discussion is one that should be had at some point in the marriage (if not already), but I hope they handle it less clumsily than they did with Beckett's D.C. opportunity. It's been great to see them talk and be supportive of each other in their marriage so far and I don't want that to change. ETA: Stana's gorgeous enough to look good in just about anything, and her beauty wouldn't be diminished at all by more realistic clothing (or less makeup, for that matter). Maybe I can handwave when she's at the precinct, but not in the field when she's wielding a gun and actually has to be mobile and agile. Unfortunately, Luke seems to care more about whether there's bootporn rather than what the character is actually doing. ;) Luke Reichle @RedCarpetLuke · Maybe Beckett's boots can have their own #FaceBook group. #Bootporn is trending I love detective shows like Broadchurch and Forbrydelsen where the very well written female lead detective character basically only has one or 2 changes of clothing in one entire season but she has a signature look that represents her character very well. The wardrobe becomes part of the character and never distracts from the character and the drama. I guess the signature piece of Beckett's wardrobe that relates to the character and story are her turtlenecks. When she wears them, bad shit happens lol. McManda February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 So that's how NYC cops dress these days to go to active crime scenes? Seems like it would invite heckling from more than one quarter. Aahh, the wonderful stretchability of lycra. Well, I never said it was believable. I have a weakness for the thigh holster. Couldn't they have checked for bullet scars on 3xk? One of the tedious flashbacks reminded us that he got shot a whole bunch when he fell in the river, so shouldn't they just ask to see his chest? He was wearing a vest - he had to be to survive 5 shits to the chest. Does that scar? Bruising, sure, but I'm not sure there would be scars. The only real complaint I have about the show, in general, but especially in the JT-heavy eps is how super smart Castle can be, not to mention how fast it comes to him. Don't get me wrong, I know he's no dummy, but a bit of realism, if you please. That's an interesting criticism, just because one of the major complaints around here is that they play Castle the dumb fool too often. Link to comment

KaveDweller February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I know on other shows female cops wear less stylish clothes, but I don't understand why that means all characters should have to. If she likes more fashionable stuff and it doesn't interfere with her job, why not wear it? Why can she only be taken seriously if she has short hair and sensible shoes? Why should she downplay her beauty in order to get respect. I don't think she comes across like a super model at all, she comes across like a beautiful woman who is a cop, and good at her job. If there's a fire all evidence on everyone the 12th precinct has arrested can go free? I think it's overly convenient too, annoyingly so (because then it just makes it seem like Jerry Tyson is all-knowing and able to get past ANYONE), but the only reason I handwave it in general is because of all I've read on how so many precincts have a gigantic backlog of evidence, a lot of which doesn't even get tested (especially in sexual assault cases; there's a ridiculous percentage of rape kits that have never been thoroughly tested for DNA evidence and just sit in a locked facility, I think they've even made a documentary about it). So if they don't have a good procedure for loading that information into electronic systems and if those physical facilities were to be destroyed (or evidence stolen from the facility), then yeah, there'd be nothing to test against for corroboration with the new case. Scary. Link to comment

I don't mind the hair covering their faces when they kiss too much but it would be nice to see their actual faces sometimes too, and well lit, please. Verdana, I read that turtlenecks are back in heh. Sinkwriter, you're right about the scary amount of mishaps and lost evidence in the chain of custody that have resulted in miscarriages of justice, especially with old cases. But for a present day high profile serial killer case like 3XK, you'd think other agencies like the FBI or even Interpol, would have records on file electronically. And there must have been boxes and boxes of evidence to check out by the doppelgangers considering the number of crimes committed by 3XK which would have made physical removal very difficult. Could they even know the passwords or procedure to delete records electronically? Oh well, we're obviously not meant to scrutinize the whole business too closely. ;) It's just when they do a plot point like this and then have the characters exposition about it at length about what's been done, it draws attention to the implausibility of it all. Let them go out in a blaze of serial killer cliched ridden glory next week in having been able to outwit Beckett and the boys without breaking sweat, suddenly they trip up and do something dumb which allows them to be caught. One of the things I will forever love about the show and the character of Rizzoli. Especially the hair part. Long, wavy hair but she pulls it back in a ponytail when she's going to crimes scenes and when going on bust. Angie H. is beautiful and dressing her realistically hasn't diminished that. Same goes w. the character of Kensi Blye on NCIS:LA. Appropriate dressed, pony-tailed hair. Daniela Ruah modeled as well and it doesn't take away from her beauty either. ETA: Why can she only be taken seriously if she has short hair and sensible shoes? Sister and aunt are both homicide detectives. They are beautiful women w. long hair. Do they dress like men? Nope. Tailored, feminine paints suits, turtlenecks, blouses, jeans. Boots. Sometimes low wedge heel and sometimes boots w a block heel. But always sensible. Point being that they don't have to sacrifice their femininity for sensibility. Beckett's hair and shoes are a hazard. Suspects can pull your hair, get the drop on you, and hurt/kill you. Shoes are dangerous for the obvious of reasons. I get that this is a show and for entertainment but it's also asking the viewers to come into a word that is based on real life. TA's work on shows to give a realistic point of view for a reason. The way Luke dresses Beckett seems more like Luke dressing Stana and her being his muse. JMHO. Also? Season 2 Beckett didn't have short hair nor did she wear manly clothes or grandma shoes. She looked beautiful, feminine, and occupational appropriate. Take it away, Beckett."Great Gates said she'd suspend me if I missed one more day from work due to being kidnapped. Now how am I going to pay for my shoes?" And I'm with Melanie on the stupidity of everyone letting Beckett walk out the precinct alone, I'm in total agreement, the writers should have thought have a better way to achieve their goal storywise. Then Kate goes off alone to help a woman who is supposedly scared of Tyson after earlier refusing to even acknowledge she knew him. Right. I immediately pegged her call as a lure to get Kate out of the precinct. Why she goes alone to find this woman, at night, after Gates specifically told her weeks ago to always take someone with her, is beyond me. Gates has also told Kate to always tell someone where she’s going, and Kate doesn’t do this either. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Kate is smarter than that. In my opinion, this dumb move and her kidnapping on the street in front of God and everybody is lazy writing. Having Tyson grab Kate in more devious fashion would have been more intriguing and less ho-hum, although the Beckett-or-Castle-gets-kidnapped storyline has also been run into the ground. I couldn’t help but picture Lee rolling his eyes when it happened again. All in all, I love what the writers are trying to do, but I believe they could have come up with a better way of doing it. I’ll still watch next week, of course. I’m a certified Castle addict. Edited February 10, 2015 by verdana 1 Link to comment
kbs February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I enjoyed this episode a lot after ignoring the idiocy of all the look-a-likes. The flashbacks didn't bother me. As for all the baby foreshadowing, I believe, whatever 3XK does to Beckett links to their baby conversation in the beginning. However, as long as they don't rip off TXF again and make 3XK steal Beckett's eggs, I might be okay with it. Link to comment
pcta February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 Okay the opening exchange in the loft, I got the message loud and clear you want little Caskett babies. Why can't TV writers let couples just be couples for a while? *sigh* Since the writers have zero subtlety about them I'm now almost certain that the S7 finale (or the run in) is going to revolve around a Beckett baby drama of some kind, meh to all that. Although I did enjoy the totally unexpected kiss between Alexis and Kate, it's still a shock when these two interact in any way and I enjoy it no matter how short. Noooo to babies. 3 Link to comment
Samantha84 February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 Annie Wersching is awesomely chilling as Dr. K. Neiman! When she's talking about fixing Beckett's face her voice sounds like she's reading the most sensual sinfully erotic book. lol. When she said that she never forgets a face ... especially if she cut it? Chills! Annie and Michael [Mosley] do an AMAZING job of making these characters chilling, formidable, dominating in a chilling, still, and powerful way. What easily could turn mustache turning, cheesy characters ... they turn into awesomeness! *BRAVA* 1 Link to comment
newyawk February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I really would love to know how Nieman has all this money and contribute to all of these foundations and yet she cleared out as fast as she could in Disciple and not even the DA blinks and eye. I think by "contribute" it's just meant that she donates her services, not necessarily her money. Link to comment
Cyranetta February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I had kind of an odd reaction -- well, at least now that's over with (in terms of the setup to the 2nd part). Even though I appreciated much of the episode's turns and twists. Beckett's solo approach in defiance of all known 3XK/Nieman history made me all to aware of plot. It felt like getting one's clothes caught in an escalator, so that instead of smoothly riding to the next level, one becomes all too aware of the grinding of the gears. Beckett had to be kidnapped to get to "The Reckoning," ergo make her an idiot, so that Beckett becomes an object in service to the plot much as the victims were objects in service to 3XK/Nieman. I also find torture, particularly sexualized (which this is, by focusing on physical beauty and its manipulation by surgery, even if there is no sexual assault), a loathsome enough plot device in basic police procedurals, but in a show like Castle that is supposed to have a degree of levity, it's even more jarring, especially since I'm sure no attention will be given to Beckett's emotional consequences. A baby in the plot doesn't move me one way or another, but if the Tyson/Nieman duo escape (or either one of them), I can easily imagine Beckett refusing to add another potential target for them and thus giving up on the idea of a pregnancy until that story reaches its conclusion (one can hope there will eventually actually be a conclusion, can't one?) 2 Link to comment
McManda February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I've caught Stana/Beckett trying to shake her head and angle it so that her hair doesn't get in the way when she's kissing Castle. I can understand not wanting the hair to get in the way but it does take me out of the scene for a sec. I don't mind the hair covering their faces when they kiss too much but it would be nice to see their actual faces sometimes too, and well lit, please. I'll take lighting fixes over hair fixes any day. One of the best parts of their bed makeout in "Clear and Present Danger" was when she pushes her hair out of her face after he flips her over and then he does, too. Sorry, McManda, just couldn't put a stop to my imagination running wild with what kind of scarring there could be from 5 shits ))). Yes, I'm 5. Oh no! Typing on my phone on my lunch at work and not proofreading apparently gives awful autocorrect typos! Although with iPhone's PG-13 filter I'm not sure how anything got corrected to "shits" (as opposed to my obviously meant "shots"), but it's too late to fix it. Oh well. 1 Link to comment
Samantha84 February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 Can we clue Gates in on nothing be coincidence when it comes to Tyson and, now, Neiman. Also Castle telling her that nothing w Tyson is coincidental and he's always one step ahead? Glad you figured that out, Castle ... after your wife got snatched. Like I said before ... Tyson is obsessed w. Castle and Castle is obsessed w. him. He stayed at the precinct PLUS in the interrogation to try and mind fuck Tyson w. his story & theory while Beckett was out there alone. He didn't even suggest taking Ryan or Espo. Nope. It was more important for those 2 to hang around and wait for the DNA test to come in. Tyson and Neiman planned all this from start to the moment they sashayed their asses right into that elevator. B/c they know, like always, these idiots would do exactly what they did. I'm thinking that Tyson planted that tooth to lull Castle/Beckett into a false since of confidence. I don't believe the DNA was too degraded, not for a minute. All part of the plane. Damn it, I love Tyson and Neiman! Their like the evil, smarter version of Castle and Beckett. Link to comment
cali1981 February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 We all knew that 3XK wasn't killed by Castle and that he would be brought back for a brief story arc. They'll do the same with Senator Scumbag and the widespread, convoluted conspiracy that he's part of and that killed Beckett's mother. One thing about 3XK though, Michael Mosley is freaking great in the role. When they gave him those glazed eyes in the interrogation room, it was creepy as hell and he really looked like a far gone psychotic. The eyes reminded me of a SciFi pic in the late 1950s "The Brain from Plant Arous". In it, when John Agar, possessed by an alien being, is about to blow something up his eyes turn into pools of liquid black while he laughs maniacally. Some makeup effects never grow old. KaveDweller February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I think by "contribute" it's just meant that she donates her services, not necessarily her money. Wasn't there a picture of her with a big check at that hospital? Sister and aunt are both homicide detectives. They are beautiful women w. long hair. Do they dress like men? Nope I don't think anyone was suggesting Beckett needs to dress like a man. I was asking why she has to dress like other women. He stayed at the precinct PLUS in the interrogation to try and mind fuck Tyson w. his story & theory while Beckett was out there alone. He wanted to go with Beckett and she told him to stay there and let he go alone. I don't think she'd react well to him insisting on protecting her. That bad judgement call is on Beckett. I'm thinking that Tyson planted that tooth to lull Castle/Beckett into a false since of confidence. I think he definitely did, probably when he cleared out the rest of his stuff from his mom's house. And the girlfriend using his credit card was a set up too. Once they had him in custody Castle/Beckett weren't thinking about a danger, they lured her out. They also now have the perfect alibi for her abduction. Link to comment
oberon55 February 11, 2015 Share February 11, 2015 All Tyson's evil schemes depend on his victim’s stupidity. Lucky for him Beckett & Castle's IQ fluctuates wildly from episode to episode. If he'd caught them on one of their smart days he would have never got away with it. I guess you could throw Lanie in the mix. This episode she's like a genius Sherlock Holmes while in Disciple she didn't even think about the possibility of having been drugged when she came to with no memory of what happened. 1 Link to comment
Nadine February 11, 2015 Share February 11, 2015 (edited) I'd love them to have a longer talk about her career with the NYPD. Pretty much in agreement with all you have written here. We know that when Gates away she is in charge (since that has been mentioned a couple/few times now) and don't see those anvils being dropped for no reason whatsoever. Heck even in Raging Heat they had Nikki taking the exam, etc. So it's definitely the next step if she wants to remain in the force (in terms of professional promotion). I know there was a book - Heat Rises? - that she declined because she didn't want to be wrapped up in the politics of 1PP or the red tape of paperwork or leave the thrill of detecting, even though she knew she'd be more than qualified to move up. Oops maybe I should that have been put Raging Heat under a spoiler? Just realised that now. Might edit my post just in case. The spoiler below is a book spoiler only. At the end of Raging Heat, she reminds him that she passed her boards three years ago and in this one she reminds Rook she has been made Captain. So yeah in terms of the scheme of things I've been waiting since she returned from the DC arc to take the boards. Heck she might have or intended to, but we haven't had any official mention of it since they'd be calling her by a higher title (Sergeant) if she had. femmefan1946 February 11, 2015 Share February 11, 2015 Yeah, the heels are an issue, but her hair......that's just silly. Sometimes cops have long hair. Yes, some do, but they are required to have their hair under control when in uniform (or on the job gemerally which would include in the precinct). From my own background knowledge, Canadian police forces include both Sikh and First Nations males who are not required to cut their hair if their traditions call for uncut hair. The Mounties have a regulation uniform turban for Sikh officers. First Nations usually braid their hair and tuck it under the uniform hat. Long hair, yeah, fetish bait. Link to comment

If she was promoted, would she have similar job responsibilities, and just a different title? I can see them not wanting to change up the show formula too much. But on Stalker, Maggie Q's character is a lieutenant and in charge of the detectives, but still works with them closely in questioning victims/suspects etc. I have no idea how realistic that is, but I could see them doing something like that. I'm actually surprised they haven't, unless they just really like her having the title "detective." Link to comment
