Do you mean Gen(Genevieve) calls him Daddy or that Jen(sen) calls him Daddy? (just kidding, or am I??? I am....probably...but sometimes...things that make you go hmmmm.)

It was a reference to calling someone Daddy whilst in flagrante, at times involving...spanking or what have. I personally don't get that kink myself but hey whatever floats your boat.

But I nearly died when he said that. I think Jensen embarrassed himself. And really how often is Jared the better behaved ? LOL

Dirty boy

Doh. I meant Gen!. ☺️

And thanks. I figured it was something like that.

I wonder if their patient wives see any of these clips?

Dean isn't going to be washing Baby in the nude. If he's in t-shirt and jeans, or shirtless with jeans, I'm all for that. Even if he's wearing his MoL robe that would be fine. But I suspect it's going to be some kind of slapstick humiliate!Dean comedy.

I agree. That kinda already made me cringe. It sounds like the same "humour" as Yellow Fever maybe. And I hate that with a passion for the humiliation porn.

Also, when Sam spoilers are "and something is seeking out Sam" and Dean "spoilers" are "he will get silly comic relief car washing scenes in a throwaway episodes", that makes me a million times more bitter.

How freaking hard can it be to write storylines for 2 characters concurrently? They still all had plenty to say about Sam beginning of last year and were quick to reassure fans that he would have important stuff to do. With Dean, it`s like you get punished for favoring the "wrong" character.

Did Jensen actually say something?  I know Jared covered his mike, then took it away from him, but if Jensen actually said something, I didn't catch it.

Jensen said 'Well, that's just..Well, yeah.....I'm just not gonna go there" and then he stopped himself, turned as red as a beet. Hangs his head, facepalms himself. Jared looks at him dumbstruck, takes his mic away and Jensen slinks off the stage.  It was all pretty clear innuendo about sex. Even the audience was like "whhhhaaaa" and laughing and cheering. Jared says "This is why we don't have nice things, Jensen".

Pretty funny stuff

Okay, I've been sitting here for the last 10 minutes, trying to come up with something to say about the first 4 episode titles and... I got nothin'.  The only thing I could come up with is that The Bad Seed must be a red herring.  Unless Amarra is a "Child of Darkness".  *eye roll*

Not good, IMO.  Shouldn't we be knee-deep in speculation?  The premiere is in 3 weeks.  Crazy.

Here are some promo pics. Some are repeats from other sites. But I don't remember this bigass machine gun.

WTF is Dean doing with a machine gun?  Seriously?  Has he always had that in there? And I swear to Gods, his face....seems not very Dean like to me. It's not demon!Dean or MoC!Dean or future!Dean or current!badass!Dean.

I would so happy if it was Demon!Dean but I doubt it.  Not sure about Leviathan!Dean

It's just... okay,  I'm not saying I'm an expert in all things Dean Winchester but I'm saying that I've studied that fucker way too much for...science.  It just doesn't seem like regular!Dean to me at all.  Which goes with the way he answered "Ghostbusters" and seems to be alone.  Very straightforward. There is something different that I'm getting here from Dean that is ...off.

I'm still of the mind that he and Sam don't know who each other is in this scene. My off the cuff WAG today is that maybe Sam is trapped in the hospital because he's there not as the Sam Winchester we've known. Like maybe he's not even a hunter here.  Maybe he's there for other reasons. These just feel off to me. Like maybe Sam looks up "Ghostbusters" and calls him and Dean answers the phone and goes to the hospital to help Sam with these other people.

Something is just peculiar. IMO.

I don`t think it means anything. Theoretically, the promo pics are supposed to be somewhat stylized but if you snap a pictures of someone in motion or about to say something or a situation like that, you can end up with a peculiar look. I could see that happening here and a promo person looking at that shot, going "hm, looks badass, I`ll use that." In short, I think it`s a look randomely chosen.

Link to comment

Oh I understand that. And I'm not talking just about that one pic with the machine gun. I'm also looking again at the other photos and thinking about the promo all together he's just coming across to me as Bizarro!Dean.

A machine gun?!?

A MACHINE GUN?!?

O.O

The baby is The Bad Seed, I'll bet. And she grows real fast (like Amazons do), and turns into Amara. That's my WAG.

The story says a season opener description should be out soon.

HOW DARE YOU OMEGAMOM

I swear to Gods, if they fuck with Baby and make her part of the Darkness there is no hope for the show.I mean seriously.  We put up with a lot of shit from the show.  And we fight about Sam and Dean and Cas and Crowley and Destiel or Destiew or whatever else.

But I feel 100% confident in saying if they fuck with Baby, they will receive a backlash like they've never seen before.

But to your point, I was thinking about that carwash scene and trying to figure out why the fuck Dean would be wearing short shorts...and I had a thought for a moment that I dared not speak....but

What if Amara is possessing Dean? And she is washing Baby and decides that Dean needs to wear short shorts to do it?

I think she meant the baby in the promo picks, not Dean's baby.

SueB has a scary familiarity with weapons, guys. I looked up grenade launchers, and sure 'nuff, that's what it is.

Which begs the question: why is Dean pulling out a grenade launcher? And why does SueB know what a grenade launcher looks like. Eh?

;-)

Yes, you can buy and own a grenade launcher in the US legally. I don't know if you can own *that* type, though; it's a military grade semi-automatic used by the Marines. And supposedly it's more difficult to get the grenades themselves.

NB: Found by googling, not innate knowledge. Unlike SueB. ;-)

The boys have mentioned it a bunch of times (that they have it in the trunk and they want to use it). I also think they pulled it out in one of the specials on a DVD once.  Or something akin to that.  And I guessed that was it by the diameter of the multiple barrels.  It's for shells, not bullets.  And....that's not really helping my case is it?

I only knew about the rocket launcher, which I thought was the grenade launcher. Well, technically it is, it launches tank penetrating missiles/grenades...

Which I also know because of my previous googling foray.

And, no, SueB, you're not helping your case at all, at all. ;-)

Well, gee. This is enlightening and revealing.../rolls eyes

It's the official synopsis. LOL

THE WINCHESTERS FACE THEIR BIGGEST THREAT EVER — Picking up where the finale left off, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must deal with the Darkness that has been unleashed.  Castiel (Misha Collins) deals with the effects of Rowena’s (Ruth Connell) spell and recalls his brutal battle with Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard).  Robert Singer directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver (#1102).  Original air date 10/7/2015.

That has got to be the most anemic episode description I have ever seen.  Of any show.

How many times am I going to have to say, "Not good"?

Actually, Mad Men episode descriptions were EPIC for being completely devoid of any information.  And the previews were Dada-esque cuts of people opening doors or answering phones.  It was an art form with them.

Omegamom, I'll ask Mick when he gets home. He'll know exactly what it is and if it's legal etc. I swear he knows everything about guns!

I hate it when a perfectly good rant is ruined by the lack of noticing a THE.

/head desk head desk head desk

Completely understandable. Hot pictures of Dean tend to do that.

Augh! I'm so bored with the no real spoilers, this is clearly an evil plan hatched by Carver. He obviously over identifies with Crowley and is trying to make the viewers so desperate that when season 11 starts we'll just be happy to have a story any story regardless of how crappy, dismal or repetitious it may be, it's his equivalent of standing in a hell line.

Catrox if that's Dean's finale shirt( I think it is) maybe the pic is right after and they pull over to grab the grenade launcher to fire at the darkness, which is epically lame unless the grenades are holy somehow and the darkness/smog monster/smoke cloud is evil.

Link to comment

There is a hospital sign behind him in that pic so I don't think it's right after.

My WAG is that Sam is already in that hospital when Dean arrives. I'm thinking when we see Dean answer "Ghostbusters" that is someone, maybe even Sam calling him to come to help at the hospital. And for some reason he decides the grenade launcher is the way to go.

I'm starting to get this whole "Tall Tales" vibe out of all this. Like maybe the boys are seeing alternate versions of their lives for some reason.  Like maybe the Darkness messes with their lives or minds or memories etc.

I think from seeing a few of the clues that the Darkness creates a reality for the boys and they may not know that they aren't experiencing an hallucination or altered state like "What Is and What Should Never Be"

They could be stuck in the car dreaming or out of it and believe they are experiencing something they aren't.  I'm a little more excited but still waiting till I see some eps before I make up my mind about anything.

It is cool that Jensen mention an Edlund type ep coming soon.  It wasn't done by him but it had the feel to it.

Jenny Klein is the one writing the episode Jensen said was Ben-like.  And frankly I was floored that he said that about her episode. The only episode she's ever written that I truly like was Hibbing 911 but that is really because of Briana Buckmaster who I adore. She wrote Rock and a Hard Place and The Things They Carried (which IMO was one of the worst of s10. I just couldn't with that episdoe). Jenny Klein is no Ben Edlund. That was a bad comparison to make and you should feel bad, Jensen.

Ooh, you mean like this...

... because for me that would be completely awesome.

Of course Dean wouldn't have a chance, even with a grenade/rocket launcher but...

Okay, this is just further evidence that we need some real spoilers. Sorry about that.

So, you know....I've been thinking about Dean's role in s11 and I'm trying to find a way that Dean has more to do than be Sam's support system again.  Dabb keeps saying they still have to have Death right? So to that end, I'm not abandoning  the idea that Dean is the new Death

What if Dean's visions/premonitions are about being Death?  What if he's refusing to believe it or is refusing to accept that he is now the new Death and that's why the reapers are upset with him?  Because if he doesn't accept being Death then what do the reapers do? Do they have a battle over who becomes Death?  To me that shouldn't be a thing that can happen because it's not like being the King of Hell where you kill everyone else to take the throne or win the election.  Death was a Horseman. He wasn't an archangel and he wasn't made by God. He's older than God and he just IS/WAS. I just I don't see how that kind of omniscience just gets transferred to any ole reaper. That's why he can only be killed with his own scythe.  IMO that's why I think Dean being Death is still on the table.  I mean he could still be a hunter/Death and fight the Darkness. What if Dean will get an arc that is him trying to not become Death or having to come to terms with being Death!Dean?

I would be so here for that. Dammit, I want that badly now.

Link to comment

I dunno.  I think Dean as Death would really limit the character.  He can't really be saving people and hunting things if he's in charge of a whole host of Reapers and taking souls.  I expect that would be a full-time job.  They've implied that, in this universe, there are other worlds than earth.  Other galaxies and universes and whatnot.  Dean, logically, shouldn't have time to do anything but be Death.  Not to mention, if he were to fight monsters, it would make the job comically easy.

"Oh, you're a (insert monster name here) killing people?  Well, then....  *reaches out and touches monster*  *looks around*  Who's up for some fried pickles?"

I can't imagine any monster that would give him more than about a second's pause.

Frankly, I just want Dean to be Dean again.  It's been such a long time.

What a missed opportunity!  They should have had him give this kind of a line when he was a demon.  It would have been fun.
