Actionmage December 21, 2014 Share December 21, 2014 (edited) I think that will help everything: the verisimilitude in story, ratings if the music is good ( and with Timbaland it's got better than 50/50, right?), broadening the resumes of the actors who are singing/ singers who are acting, and whichever outlet is releasing the music for download will be getting money, potentially lots of it if the music takes off like season 1 Glee did. I heard somewhere that there is going to be two versions of the songs: a "clean" one, for television, and a more explicit version. I like that because it's like cussing on TV: there are some situations where it is going to happen. Yes, polite police, they don't have to cuss at all, yet to have no one cuss at all seems disingenuous when you take a look at radio and even the pop ladies are dropping bombs here and there. angelita100 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/new-fox-chiefs-reveal-reboot-761341 The first single, "No Apologies," featuring Empire's Jussie Smollett, is scheduled to drop Dec. 15 — albums and concerts already are being discussed with partner Columbia Records — and the marketing, on par with this summer's multimillion-dollar Gotham campaign, is heading into overdrive. 2 Link to comment
LydiaMoon1 January 16, 2015 Share January 16, 2015 (edited) Does anyone know the title of the song and the artist who sang the Southern Soul jam that was playing when Hakeem got the broom beatdown? That song was nice. ETA: My sister answered my question. The song was That Nookie Thang by Big Cynthia. Edited January 16, 2015 by LydiaMoon1 2 Link to comment

CofCinci February 7, 2015 Share February 7, 2015 Hakeem's music is terrible, but not in the fun way like Turquoise Jeep Records: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt5ghXdq6Z0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6x-JVXkd8SQ&list=PL8FF3C089C5C54557&index=11 1 Link to comment
JessePinkman March 5, 2015 Share March 5, 2015 Does anyone know the song that comes in at :13 in this clip? They've used it in the show a few times but I don't think it's ever been performed on the show or released on itunes? Link to comment
Artsda March 5, 2015 Share March 5, 2015 Empire has its first big musical hit as Jussie Smollett and Estelle's 'Conqueror' hits No. 4 on iTunes Empire’s reign knows no bounds. The Fox smash (and recent EW cover subject) has consistently broken ratings records, and now the show’s music is taking over the iTunes charts, with the song “Conqueror” nabbing the No. 4 slot and “You’re So Beautiful” holding down No. 11. 3 Link to comment

Kendall March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 I know that it's most of the new and original songs that get the most love, but if you haven't at least listened to the new version of Anthony Hamilton's "Point of it All," you are cheating yourself. The original was already in heavy rotation in my house, but this version got me swooning like Anthony is actually a good looking man and we all know that is not true. 2 Link to comment
Timetoread March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 I'm embarrassed to ask, but can someone give me the info on the song they played last episode "Girls ain't nothin but trouble. Can't live with em can't love em." I found myself rolling everytime it played because it was always with some woman (Anika) being shady. LOL Quoting myself, I found it, it's called War of the Roses by Jim Beanz and it is currently on repeat. Forever. I asked before I realized that the question above was the same. Thanks!!!!! 1 Link to comment

wanderingstar March 23, 2015 Share March 23, 2015 So, getting the soundtrack was a mistake. Because I've been playing it non-stop since I left for work this morning. I have also decided that I want to wake up every day to "No Apologies." 2 Link to comment

wanderingstar March 28, 2015 Share March 28, 2015 lajessica21, are you referring to the song Jamal sang after the family dinner at Lucious' house? I think that was "Up All Night" - originally written by Puma. It was about his unrequited crush on Cookie. Link to comment

SimoneS October 10, 2015 Share October 10, 2015 I just watched the video of Jussie's song with Pitbull. Ugh! I like the song a lot, but I hate that he is playing straight in the video. Why couldn't be dancing a guy or at least he should have been flirting with guys in the background. I am disappointed. Link to comment

Dee October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 (edited) Listen to Serayah's New Beyonce-Inspired 'Empire' Anthem, 'Me' Quote In next week’s episode of the hit Fox series, titled “Cupid Kills,” Serayah performs a powerful new anthem, and ET has the exclusive premiere of “Me,” a pulse-pounding song all about female empowerment. "The song reminds me of Beyoncé’s ‘Me, Myself and I,’” the 21-year-old actress-singer, who plays Tiana, exclusively tells ET. “Lyrics in both songs speak to female empowerment, but both are really about self-love.” “I feel like ‘Me’ is almost an anthem -- none of us need approval or love from anyone else to define our worth, all that any of us need is me to be happy,” Serayah adds. Queena April 8, 2021 Share April 8, 2021 I've recently rewatched Empire, and it's not a bad show. I miss it already. However, these 2 songs are so good. It would be nice if we could get a Empire movie to tie up all of the loose ends. Link to comment
