Unfortunately, I'm weak and like trash TV at times.

RHNJ is the only one airing right now and I don't watch it, so I am binging on The Killing on Netflix. I'm trying to stay positive and shit :)

The only reason I know anything about any Real Housewives is because the View would have them on as guests.  I know there is an audience for those type of reality shows but I thought the View did a great disservice to their audience when they start showcasing those famewhores. 

 

I believe the paparazzi will photograph Whoopi when she is out and about but sending drones to her house?  Yeah right.  Even at the height of her career that wouldn't have happened.  She might be an EGOT winner but she isn't a celeb Radar online or TMZ is following.

I thought that Whoopi brought up a good point - drones open up a huge crack in privacy assurance can be used to invade anyone's private space. Even if you aren't a TMZ target! Someone could use a drone to see what's in your backyard, far fetched as it may seem. Within a couple years I'll bet there are stories in the news about burglars using drones LOL

I hate to see the show spending lots of time discussing the housewives...I did watch the first the New York, Orange County and Washington, D.C. for a while but, man, they evolved to the women "friends" yelling at each other, lying, creating drama and being just painful to watch. Who has friends like that? I know the names of the ones from the other cities just because they make the pop news so much and usually not in a good way. I applaud Nicole for being honest about her disinterest in them!

Cathy, that already happened here in Seattle.    Turns out it was just a real estate guy getting pics of the property.    It is an interesting topic but I don't think Whoopi was bringing up drones as much as she was letting us know that Zoe Saldana has nothing on her.   Okay, if you say so Whoopi.  Still, I don' tthink TMZ etc. are going to be sending any drones over her house anytime soon. 

 

I wouldn't worry about the RHW on this show anymore - at least not the way they used to be.  For one thing, none of the co-hosts watch it.    Wendy Williams does a good job of following that stuff and talking about it and I think she brought it up because that day was big news in RHW land and that's her thing.    And yes, I watch TRHW and other assorted BRAVO  trash.  I also watched this (hopefully former) crapfest for many years.  Don't judge me.

Whoopi thinking the paps were interested in her enough to send photo drones over her house made me shake my head.

 

 

No, Cosmo, Whoopi saw them!  She really did!  It happened!  Lying there baked in her backyard hammock enjoying those last few puffs on that big ole blunt, she saw those little airplane thingies sent specifically to fly over her private property to take pictures!

No, it wouldn't have.  And she was really big.  Although those were very different times, I believe that would not have happened.

I agree.  But on some level, she has to know she's not a political pundit appearing as a panel member on "news" shows anymore.  I say this rather meekly right now but I think she'd do well informing herself on some pop culture.  Her honesty about her disinterest in all of this, while charming, does not make for a well rounded panelist on a show like The View.  Whether she likes it or not, whether we like it or not, those shows exist as a large part of what people in general are watching and, therefore, the "stars" of those shows will appear on the View from time to time.  Many of those who came before her were not interested in those things either, but their professionalism dictated a short dive into an unknown pool where they emerged prepared and ready to handle whatever might come their way.  I would prefer those shows were not popular at all and even if they were, did not appear ever on the View.  But I think the panelists should be up to speed on some certain things relating to pop culture.  They might find themselves speaking about them, or *yikes* interviewing them, where I would appreciate knowledgeable interviewers if I happen to be watching that day.

Absolutely.  I would believe that was not lost on Whoopi for one second, and that she would respond/react that way to it.

LOL Never!  No judging here.  Many of us watch it, and probably a lot worse as well.  And yes, we are all still watching this show, as a "hopefully former crapfest".  But the jury's still out on that - and all I care about and hope for is that we just keep having fun together commenting.


