S07.E03: Chewy Ca(ra)mel

Tammy comes out to her sisters and reveals she's dating a woman, but their reaction isn't what she expected; Chris and Tammy have a skin removal check-in; Amy is confronted by a harrowing experience at a petting zoo.

Not much happening in this episode until the end when they show the camel bite. 

The family goes to a lake again (no obstacle course this time) and Tammy participates and seems to enjoy herself.

More farts and fart jokes.

Tammy tells her family she's dating a woman.  The family is very accepting and are surprised that Tammy was worried about their reaction.

Amy's boyfriend Brian continues to push for her to move in with him.  Amy says they have to baby-proof his house first.  She mentions his swimming pool.  

Chris and Tammy visit Dr. Smith.  Chris talks of his wish for additional skin removal.  Tammy's protein is still not at an optimum level.  She says she's vaping only non-nicotine vapes and only when she's stressed.  

Camel bite:  Amy, Brian, and the kids visit a drive-through zoo in Tennessee to feed the animals when Amy is bitten by a camel.  Upon being notified, the siblings have a good laugh about it.  Amy sends them the photo (a similar photo to what TMZ had published).  Amy is freaking out and is taken away by ambulance.  Amy says that as the police were taking the kids out of the car, they found marijuana.

(She didn't mention the mushrooms that were also found according to the news reports). 

The show ends with Amanda rushing to Tennessee to pick up the kids and Amy talking about her and Brian being arrested.

Seems like Amy held the food container away from the camel (not intentionally, just as she was talking,) the camel got mad about it and chomped her?  I would’ve laughed too, but that wound looked painful. Like a crowning lipoma on Pimple Popper lol.
 

So, it was the boyfriend’s drugs? Or both?  Maybe they should’ve childproofed the car before the house and got the drugs out of the car!? That guy just gives off shady, twitchy vibes. Not saying Amy is an angel. And maybe I’ve watched too much Dateline, but I don’t trust any man who’s immediately ‘great with my kids.’ Just how my brain works. Id think he was seeing me as an easy mark and my kids as easy pickings. Not accusing him of anything, just saying I wouldn’t trust any man around my kids alone because I’m suspicious of everyone, but especially over eager types. 
 

Tammy is still vaping nicotine. No way it’s just rare occasions. If she wants a chance at getting all that skin off she has to go cold turkey.  They’re going to have to slice her like a fabric pattern. Imagine the drains and stitches she’ll have. So many chances for infection & wounds not closing.  Imagine the hell her caretaker(s) will go through as she heals!? The screeching and complaining.  Yikes. I’d hire staff to nurse her lol  She’ll look so good without the hanging neck skin tho. More importantly, she’ll be able to walk better without all of that weighing on her.  So She needs to get it together for my sake, because I can’t wait to see her results after all the surgery. 🤣 it’s fascinating.

I'm with you @Pi237 regarding Brian!  I can't quite see what he sees in Amy in the first place.  

That camel bite was weird.  That she kept saying " I saw pieces of FAT falling out" just about did me in.  OY!

I read that the police smelled drugs, and kids in the car was a no no. Amy said they had pot, but there were mushrooms too.

I think I read that when responding to the bite accompanying the ambulance, the police smelled weed. It was probably in plain sight. Don't know search laws, but neither Brian or Amy seem smart enough to hide their drugs.

Chris was talking about 30 years' time in prison, which seemed suspicious, so I googled to refresh my memory.  I guess they dropped child endangerment/abuse charges in exchange for pleading out on possession. 

This snark from the Tennessee District Attorney cracked me up:

“This is the Season of Giving and we understand that Amy Halterman and Brian Lovvorn are the pride and joy of the State of Kentucky and they will now be back in Kentucky for the Holidays,” Crockett County District Atty. Gen. Frederick Agee wrote in an email statement to local news outlet WREG.

I think they just wanted to get them out of the state, and make them Kentucky's issue again.     Amy was shocked when she was told in court that she was banned from the safari park forever too.

Couldn't she still sue them, though?  Why would the charges prohibit that?

Somebody online said you signed a waiver before you went in. I don't know if that's true.

I know this may not sound nice but I really have to wonder if Brian is either 1) looking for reality show fame and/or paycheck; or 2) intellectually and/or psychologically challenged. There is no other explanation as to why any sane man would willingly hitch their wagon to Amy Slaton. Outside of the TLC notoriety (and presumed paycheck) she brings absolutely nothing to the table. She is so very crass, lazy and ignorant. And I won’t get into anything regarding her appearance lest I get blocked. I guess every pot has its lid. 😑

When this series started I couldn’t stand Tammy. Since her weight loss surgery I really like her vibe. Amy is just out of control!

I've been to similar drive thru zoos in Arkansas @babyhouseman (don't judge me). Yes, we signed a waiver stating the zoo wasn't responsible for any accidents/injuries.  Not sure if that would stand up in court if there was negligence.

Why am I guessing that he'll soon become her manager?    He was a nurse too, so he must have brains.    She has income, Cameos, social media sources, appearances, and a paid off house too.    Bet next contract negotiation will be interesting.

Amy makes this show hard to watch, a lot of the time.  I have never seen anyone so proud of their farts. I can take a  fart joke or two. I'm not clutching my pearls or anything but good grief Amy.   Everyone farts so it's not a special talent.  And it is hard to watch an adult woman behave like a 10 year old boy. 

Right now, I am interested in Tammy and Chris getting skin removal and Brittany getting her approval for surgery. I am also much more interested in Tammy and her partner, than I am in anything Amy is doing. 

I think it's legit for Amy to be annoyed with Amanda living in her house and seemingly taking over.  But on the other hand, if Amy was by herself with her kids, she would be whining about how hard it is, with 2 small kids and how much work and how she has to do it all herself. Oh poor Amy. 🙄

If they didn't have all the drama, we wouldn't watch, but I could do with less about Amy. We don't seem to see a lot about Misty but she is probably far too drama free to have much of a story line. lol

I always wonder if TLC knew what they were getting into when they signed Amy and Tammy. 

Did they originally know about the siblings? Chris, Amanda and Misty were able to stretch out the life of the series. I'm not sure how much farther it can go to keep interest. Tammy will get the skin removal surgery, then Britany will get the gastric surgery. Amy may or may not have new relationships and hopefully not more children.

I have also wondered why Brian would date Amy. I mean why would you willingly take on that level of crazy? I did a little googling and found his ex wife's facebook page. She seems attractive and normal. Their two kids are adorable. If anyone is interested, his ex's name is Lori and if you do a little googling you can find it. Also, his mother's obituary from a few years ago comes up and it mentions that she is survived by a son Brian and wife Lori so you know it is the right one.

People start dating someone that's a local celebrity for a lot of reasons.    She does have a decent income, some from the show, social media income, appearances for money, Cameo's for money, and maybe other ways.  Plus everyone on the show get trips and activities sponsored when it's filmed.  

I still think she lured the camel closer and put her arm where she could cause an incident that she could sue for.    They do have a history of making pleas for money for phony causes (like Tammy's 'funeral' Amy raised money for), and staged injuries go right along with that.

Brian creeps me out.  He has a big house with a pool in a nice neighborhood and he wants Amy?  Seems fishy to me.

I was laughing along with the siblings about the camel bite.  It did look painful but since they were laughing I decided I could too.  

Two things bothered me in this episode.  One thing was that to reach the supposedly handicap accessible beach they had to go down stairs.  Amanda and her fitted sheet cracked me up. 

The other was when Amy said her boys are going to be as big as Amanda's boys someday.  That's totally preventable and it made me sad that she seemed to think it was perfectly fine. She learned nothing about improving her eating habits after her weight loss surgery.

Amy never followed the nutrition plan after surgery.    Her habits are the same as before surgery.  

With both pregnancies she ended up in the ER, from overeating, and the wrong foods for her nutrition needs.

They wouldn't, but a jury trying to assign responsibility to the park/guest could probably be swayed by the fact that they had drugs on them and who knows what else they were up to?  What might have been a complicated "yes, I signed a release, but this was a bad bite, my arm was laid open, might have been a child, did I mention I have a television show, see you in court unless you give me a nice big settlement" quickly turned into a much brighter prospect for the park.

In a civil case, I bet her criminal history, repeated scams, and other actions would be revealed to the jury, so I think her chances of winning anything would be zip.

Yes, I could see someone hanging out with Amy just for kicks so they could say they knew a TV personality but why oh why would you want to have s** with her??? Bleh! When they were in that restaurant she was talking about how good he was in the bedroom. I say "Sumtin wrong with that boy Brian."

Hope this is the right thread…..I wonder if running a food truck is the best job for Chris.  Stuck in a truck for long hours and large quantities of food sounds like a risky environment for someone with his obesity history.
