That's what I like to see - the medical staff getting intoxicated with passengers on board.

I knew that Chekhov's glitter dust was going to make an appearance as soon as the camera focused on it.  

Just for historical reference, Henry Methvin was an actual accomplice of Bonnie and Clyde.  He is thought to be the killer of the two motor cops who rode up on them in Texas, but law enforcement pinned it on Bonnie, thereby sealing her fate.  He is also reported to have sold out the two to the posse, just like the movie.

So did Sergeant Grant work a gambling case on 9-1-1 or did Angela Bassett guest on Las Vegas 25 years ago? While suffering from PTS she's still the sergeant!

I return of our housekeeper-EMT. I guess after a recent pirate takeover and capsizing the Odyssey doesn't need to worry about bad reviews from the heist. With grandma asking for search warrants it made me wonder on the high seas which gets you around the state's gambling laws would some international piracy court take over if the US couldn't convict on the pre show crimes and they were getting released?  Maybe the registry, court in Panama?

I gave this one a chance for Angela Bassett but yeesh. The writing on this show is so bad and the "heist" was so formula. That was a massive exposition dump at the end with Athena, the Doc and the Captain taking turns explaining how they solved the caper. All that was missing was for Grandma to rip off her rubber mask and be revealed as the owner of the carnival. And then say "And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

The actress playing Grandma is named Debra Mooney and she is very prolific as a TV show guest star. But every time I see her I think she's Gena Rowlands.

I knew the little old lady was going to be a thief as soon as she barged into Athena's room. I spent at least the last 30 minutes of the episode yelling "It's the old lady!" at my tv.

Obviously knowing that I was wrong, I actually did a double take because she looked like Betty White for a split second when she first walked in.

Me too, especially because we never saw the grandson.

How did he get a 3D printer and nickel powder on board?  Great security they have there.

And of course, their solution was to send the tender off to shore instead of ordering a medical helicopter.  Oh, but wait, here comes a copter full of feds!  We'll just plug her into that ride!  You can bet the FBI sent a bill to her insurance company to cover the flight, ha.

Why did Athena suddenly have cell service out at sea?  Why did the janitorial closet lock from the outside only?

From Wikipedia it looks like any nation that is signatory to the International Maritime Law as set up by the UN has the jurisdiction to seize a ship engaged in piracy and try the individuals apprehended.  That's just my take.

How did a cleaning lady get locked in a cleaning supply closet, doesn't she have a key?

At least they didn’t do a heart transplant right on the ship! I’m kidding, but I thought this one wasn’t too bad except for them giving Athena a gigantic room, racks of perfectly fitting gowns and jewelry. Why would she need any of that? She was left on the ship and would have been dropped off at the next port. Why would the ship want her to have jewelry?

I figured the old lady was in on it at the beginning. Why was the bad heart girl by herself? She seemed fairly young why would she choose a gambling cruise over something more fun? I also didn’t understand how the cleaning lady wouldn’t have a key for the closet.

And why would you need a key to get out (but not to get in) in the first place?!?!?

I suspect it was manufactured by the same company that makes every walk-in refrigerator/freezer used in any TV show ever.

I know, it's not realistic, but we're supposed to think the crew lost track of an armed, uniformed police officer, whose partner had already made an arrest and left the ship with a prisoner, and just sailed away with her aboard?

It really doesn't work like that.

But Phillipa's white dress was really pretty - actually reminded me of some of Julie's from "The Love Boat"! So we're all good.

They will be shown, just not in the production order. I think they are putting the most interesting episodes (sharks and crossover) first to generate some buzz, before going back to the same old/odd stories.

What exactly IS "Casino Week"?  They made it sound like it was extra special, like there were going to be tournaments and prizes and that this was an Event that high rollers would put on their calendars.  All I saw was a regular old cruise ship casino.  Does this ship normally not have a casino?  I don't think we have seen it before, have we?  I think it kind of looked like they set up tables in the lobby.

I get that this is a "special" kind of cruise ship, but it's ridiculous that Max and Avery and Tristan were sitting down next to passengers and playing.  But this is the same ship that allows crew members to use the pools and sit at the bars and drink next to passengers, so ok.

I really don't care about the Avery baby drama.  I don't care if Max is "all in".  So is Tristan.  Ooooooh the dramaz!

Whatever.  This is a TV show, and assuming the show gets renewed and Soo is still on it, is pregnant and supposed to be going to medical school next semester, there's no way she can have the baby and attend school on land AND still be on the show, unless one of the following happens:

1) she terminates the pregnancy

2) she has the baby and gives it up for adoption

3) something like: she has the baby, is given credit for experiential learning as a nurse practitioner on a cruise ship for years, finishes med school in three months, and is back on board with medical degree, baby, and grandma or nanny to watch the baby.  Or she puts the baby in the kids club.

4) 4 year time jump!

Same.  I thought she looked and sounded like Betty White.  The Golden Girls hair and the big eyes resembled Betty.

This didn't make any sense at all.  It doesn't seem very prudent that somebody can get locked into a cleaning closet.

I just assumed they expanded the regular casino and were not making a port call on that cruise to stay in international waters and keep the "whales" (from Las Vegas) at the tables.

I half-believe they convinced Angela Bassett to guest star for this show by telling her they would have her do a mini-montage of Athena trying on gowns.

This is like the very late term pregnancy woman who was somehow allowed on the gay cruise.  Transplant girl is obviously very ill.  How was someone with her health history allowed on the ship?

They could also go with a miscarriage. That is a TV staple when they don't want a baby but don't want the main character to have an abortion.

I actually assume that is where this is leading, because then they could say the trauma of miscarriage made her have a realization that she should stay a nurse.

She could have lied about her health. You don't have to provide medical records to go on a cruise and they don't really study everyone coming aboard. Pregnancy is different because you can see it clearly.
