I can’t believe the dance was to “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers instead of something era appropriate.   Then again, the song is having another resurgence as David Tennant sang an adaptation at the beginning of the BAFTAs a couple of weeks ago.

It seemed like it was a Bridgerton rip-off. All of the balls have them dancing in Regency style to modern songs played by an orchestra.

well, it seems like Juliana just became the front-runner. Bonding over similar childhood trauma as children of addicts (though, Juliana was very careful not to identify the family member).

Dina may had a good point, but she lost me with “don’t you have free will to stop the conversation?” Why would Carolina stop the conversation and say, whelp, I took enough of your time; you should go talk to Dina. It’s up to Dina to go up to Grant and say, “Can I steal you for a minute?” Is Grant going off and hiding with Carolina and Zoe and whomever else has “stolen him for the whole day/night” that we’ve been hearing about every damn week? Why is no one just going and interrupting like they’ve done since the dawn of civilization, aka 29 seasons and counting?

Grant has talked about having connections to some of the women, particularly when they are unsure…but talking to the camera, has he expressed strong emotions about any of the women?  He certainly hasn’t talked about falling for any of the women, let alone the traditional “I’m falling for more than one person” declaration that usually comes around this point.

I was more shocked that Zoe got a rose. At least Dina had a 1 on 1.

I have no memory of Dina having a 1:1. I must have blocked it out. Zoe was always disappearing with Grant at cocktail parties, before Carolina started doing it, too, so I always had an impression that Zoe was a favorite of his along with Litia, and now after tonight, Juliana.

I was sure he would pick both Juliana and Litia.  I was convinced he would pick Carolina too because at least she has a personality, but was pleased when he didn't.  Beyond that it's like he flipped a coin.  He barely seems to connect with any of them.

He cried so much with Litia and she was so HERE FOR IT! It was super weird--her eyes got big, she seemed elated.  What an emotional vampire!! I do not see them working out.

I agree he really likes her, but he also said he doesn’t want a religion with a lot of rules for himself, so something like that.  She is deeply involved in her faith which does, as I understand it, has a lot of rules.  This isn’t something she can compromise and still be in good standing with her faith.  Would he be willing to have any kids raised in that religion?  And while she might not pressure him to personally change, how would he be expected to behave in front of the kids, e.g. no coffee or colas?

I find his connection to Litia befuddling; he seems to really crave her acceptance. In every other instance it's the women who are desperately chasing him, seeking his validation while he gives the bare minimum in return but with Litia he's the one doing the chasing and seeking the validation. She seems to know it and thrive on it too. I personally haven't seen what it is about her that has him so smitten, but damn. Whether he chooses her or not I genuinely think her religious beliefs will not be something they can get past.

How is it hometowns already? It's odd that he didn't walk a single person out that he sent home this week, doesn't that usually happen around this time?

This "journey" is already rushed enough as it is, but this season feels especially rushed and it doesn't seem like any of these connections are really strong.

And the previews they've been showing all season of Grant not knowing who he wants until the last minute and claiming to love both women "equally" pretty much guarantees a pre-ATFR breakup.

Wow, I am truly shocked that Carolina didn't get a rose, it seemed like Grant was falling hook line and sinker for her weepy eyed drama routine. Points to Grant for realizing that the one person everyone is complaining about is probably not the person you want as a spouse, a lesson way too many bachelors and bachelorettes refuse to learn until its too late. Carolina should have tried to make peace with the girls earlier, that bit with Dina was too little too late. I cant say I would be super into a person who I brought to an event and spent the whole time pouting because they aren't the center of attention.

I went to Edenborough a few months ago and it was awesome seeing so many familiar places, its such a gorgeous fascinating city. And yes, I can confirm that you cannot go a day there without hearing The Proclaimers, I swear I heard 500 miles approximately 500 times during my week in Scotland.

Its wild that its already time for hometowns, I feel like we hardly know Grant or any of the girls. I least I remember Carolina, everyone else is just kind of there except for Litia, and that's mostly because of the Mormon thing. I am very curious to see how that plays out, its good that they are talking about their faiths now instead of later, but they are going to have some real talk. Juliana scored some points for talking about their similar childhood issues and she seems like fun.

That’s exactly what I thought. While I usually joke that the lead is gonna say “can I walk you out” when someone unloads some significant, previously unrevealed fact about themselves, but in this case, I was thinking Litia was going to walk HIM out when he gave that tired old response about how he likes religion but doesn’t think it needs rules or whatever.

I also thought she had a whiff of missionary during that conversation, her eyes were all wide and she showed far more enthusiasm for the topic than she has the entire time. I’m sure she’d be thrilled to convert him, but I don’t see that working out once they’re out of this bubble.

This feels like the shortest season ever, it seems like it just started and already hometowns? I’ve barely learned names and there are one or two that I swear haven’t been there the whole time.

i was surprised that he sent Carolina home, he seemed genuinely interested in her. And she made some valid points with Dina, like it DOES matter that it was Grant stealing her and not the other way around. As usual, it’s someone without a real connection to the lead (Seraphina? I think)who’s policing other people and another person who’s trying to ass kiss their way into a connection (Dina). Seraphina ended up the discard pile right off the bat and Dina will be next, there’s nothing there.

Also, Dina looks like a walking filter. Did she take an AI-drawn face to her plastic surgeon and just say “here, please remove any identifiable features I had and make my obvious surgery the only notable thing about my face”? I assume that’s what she and Juliana hated most about Carolina, the fact she walked around with messy hair and beanies and still looked prettier.
