What an elegant system!  So analog, so simple.  The agent doesn’t even need to keep a record of the seats situation.  Beautiful.

Pete said the nephew (I forgot his name) was such a sweet kid. I wonder if his fate would have changed if Pete was around to influence him. Maybe (probably) not since we're talking about the mob here.

For some reason, the fact that Pete admitted to liking violence in movies a few episodes ago and then acted like he didn't with everyone agreeing in this one was really annoying me. It just makes no sense!

And yea, the postcards thing made no sense either but it was such a sweet moment so it didn't bother me too much.

I forgot my favorite line of this episode:

Pete: "The last thing I want is for Jay to be whacked off by a bunch of mobsters!"

I swear I don't know how they get away with some of these double entendres. But "Saul jerked himself off onto Jay" is still the winner.

Runners up for best line:

"One of the cooks makes fake IDs for high school kids."

"There shall be no hanky. Nor panky."

The set decoration for the restaurant kitchen is interesting. One wall is completely covered in glass jars filled with all sorts of things. I can't imagine how practical that would be, or that Jay would need that many different spices and such, even though it looks cool. 

To readdress something I mentioned in an earlier post, last week (in "It's The End of the World As We Know it") Pete said he loved blood sports because he has a lot of repressed rge. He went to an MMA fight and sat in the front row. And remembers watching boxing for as a kid. This doesn't really square with him finding certain movies too violent.

Funny story: Around 1990, wife & I are flying from Houston to Ixtapa, on Aeroméxico. Layover in Mexico City, with about a 2 hour gap.

We get off in Mexico City and wander around the airport. When we get back to the gate, they tell us there was a problem with the original plane, and we have a new plane. Our luggage has all been transferred, but we need to pick new seat stickers, as it's a different aircraft. No problem, pick seats, put the sticker on our tickets.

Just as we start to board, they realized the sticker layout they used was from a completely different aircraft, neither our original or the one that replaced it. No one's sticker makes any sense.

At this point they said just find a seat, and as soon as everyone is seated, we'll take off. We were headed for a Mexican beach resort, plus had just spent an hour+ in the airport killing time 🍹 so everyone was "sure no prob".

Nowadays, there would be lawsuits filed, and people complaining about seat assignments, it would be all over social media, and no one would be happy.

Many Australian pilots are jokers.  I heard of one who boarded a plane (not in uniform) and sat in a passenger seat.  A while after the scheduled takeoff time, he stood up and said loudly, "If that pilot isn't going to show up, I'll fly the plane myself." And he did.

When I was there, one pilot announced, "Everyone sitting on the aisle, please pull your elbows in. I can't see out the back." So everyone looked back and of course there was no rear window.

In the previous episode he said that he likes 'blood sports' and that he has repressed rage.  I guess he's okay with sitting ringside (the MMA fight he mentioned where teeth went flying) as opposed to seeing people killed on TV.  It doesn't make much sense, but maybe the live action stuff gets his adrenaline going and his repressed rage comes out.  😲

It works for me -- he repressed his rage and avoided violence when he was alive, but now this many decades into ghost existence he's dealing with that repressed rage by consuming violent entertainment.

Also, people get murdered in Goodfellas. At least with wrestling, it's all play acting - people are fighting, sure, but nobody's actually being killed. Even with those who do watch violent content, a lot of them still have limits to just how much violence they can tolerate.

Last week on a flight from Denver to Las Vegas, we landed and one of the stewards announced, "please be sure you don't leave your personal problems. . . uh, I mean possessions on the plane."

I'm still not sure if it was supposed to be a joke or a Freudian slip. He really did sound surprised and embarrassed.

This is a stupid question, but I couldn't figure out what the "Tasteful Nudes" referred to. Were they nude photos of Carol (and if so, why would she have had them taken and for whom), or were they nude photos of men that she liked to look at? Or something else entirely?

I assumed they were of her... Maybe for whatshisname she was cheating on Pete with?
