Joe?  Who is this guy?  Have we even seen him before and now he and Marjan are married?  They’re really trying to cram a lot in these last few episodes aren’t they?

This storyline with Judd really sucks too. I know the actress who plays Grace didn’t want to come back but that was no reason to destroy Judd.

I looked it up.  The character last appeared in 2023, so it is not surprising you forgot him.  (Apparently he is Natacha Karam's real life boyfriend).  The whole thing felt very rushed, and I'd agree they are trying to essentially close out Marjan's storyline as they approach the end.  On a more shallow note, I did think Natacha looked beautiful with her hair down and uncovered after the wedding.  Marjan rarely gets that kind of storyline so you forget how gorgeous the actress is.

I can't even with Judd.  How old is his daughter to be given decision making authority about where she is going to live?  And more seriously, even if Judd didn't say anything about his failed attempt to contact Grace, why have Grace's other friends not told her how bad things have gotten for him?  It's just ridiculous.

So we have one cancer, one alcoholism, one marriage-- all out of nowhere. 

And I don't see how reviving someone with CPR is a sign from God. A sign of what? That CPR works?

I cannot tell you how much I hate this season. It's all awful, abrupt, and perfunctory.

And can I just say that if Judd staying sober is reliant on signs from God, well, he's not going to succeed. I actually thought there was a really interesting point buried in there about what someone who doesn't believe in God, or a higher power, is supposed to do about their addiction and how that could be a struggle, but no, everyone neat and tidily believes in God again by the end of the episode, because, you know, signs from the universe nonsense.

They rescued that girl encased in plaster. I remember being excited that they were actually going out on a call. Plus there was the CPR on the minister which ended up being more about Judd and his crisis of faith.

The wedding was lovely, if completely ridiculous. They had to get married at the firehouse? Marjan has a mosque she attends doesn't she? I know it's probably more about budget constraints but still. They just take a whole firehouse out of rotation? They manage to pull together a cake, catering, and choreographed traditional dance in a day.

This show loves to throw weird parties. I keep thinking of TK's birthday party.

Am I the only one who doesn't need every story line and character tied up into a happy ever after scenario because the show is ending?

You can tell the budget got slashed because of the lack of rescues and cast not returning.

He was her physical therapist after she got shot by a psycho while she was on her vision quest on Owen's motorcycle last year.

I'll have to repeat my usual rant about how that isn't how CPR works. No one suddenly wakes up during CPR and says "I'm fine now. You can stop pressing on my chest" with maybe "you're my hero" thrown in for good measure.

The last time I took a CPR class they warned us that you have to break ribs. Of course that's back when we were taught to breathe into the person's mouth so maybe other things have changed too.

If there are only two episodes left I wonder what Tommy's fate is going to be.

I'm so glad that other people kind of remember Joe, he showed up and I had no clue who he was, I thought he was a totally new character. I guess I'm happy that Marjan finally got an actual plot, but I really wish that it wasn't the happy ending of a romance that we never actually saw. I am SO glad we spent all of the time we could have spent building this relationship on TK randomly adopting his brother and being a shitty husband while Tommy's relationship falls apart and immediately gets cancer. So glad...

Marjan did look really beautiful and it was cool to see some Lebanese Muslim wedding traditions, even if they had to use the fire station, presumably because of budget reasons, but it mostly made me sad at how underused she's been. 

I hate that this is the story they gave Judd before the show ends, and I hate how this hurts Grace so much as a character. I know that the actress left, but her leaving her young daughter and husband who has mountains on his plate already has never sat right with me, but now its even worse that she's hardly even returning Judd's calls and their daughter has left him. None of their friends have been in touch with her? Even if most people don't know about his drinking problem, it cant be a secret that he's lonely and miserable. 

We did finally get an actual rescue at least, so that's something at least. And even a kind of rescue with the pastor, even if that was more of a connection with Judd's story. If only we had gotten more of that instead of more soap opera nonsense, this show wouldn't be ending on such a downer.

That's something that really doesn't sit right with me. I know there's no way around it but there's no way Grace's "calling" is more important to her than her daughter and her friend fighting cancer. Even if for some reason she chose to stay away (she wouldn't) she would at least call and video chat ever chance she could. She would never leave Tommy to deal with this on her own.

Same for Tommy not telling Grace about Judd, or call her out for leaving her daughter and husband to flounder.

Judd is an alcoholic suddenly? His daughter chose to live with grandparents? Isn't she a toddler? 

They're really writing Grace bad.  Abandoned her daughter, her husband, stepson in wheelchair, and best friend in chemo? 

I remember Marjan starting to date Jo, but forgot now they're married. They're rushing to tie up loose ends.

I really thought that when they posed the question of what to do when you need help from a power greater than yourself, but don't believe in God... that they would say that your commmunity is a power greater than you, that Judd is not alone, that he has to open up to and accept help from the community-- not just Hero Owen, but also the people in his addiction recovery meeting, and all his friends. 

It would even have been in keeping with the show's general tone of friends = family.

They didn't have to go this way with Grace or Judd. Grace could have been off camera, ditto the kid, with references to home life but only showing Judd at work or elsewhere. They had Tommy off camnera most of the episode. It would have been easy to say that Grace had just left, when the new shift of friends arrived with the scarf. It's not that hard. They chose to do the maudlin sudden cancer and alcoholism stories and the marriage of Marjan out of nowhere, and every other stupid thng they did this season.

I don't think that fire at the ammunition warehouse was cheap, either. They could do rescues if they wanted to. They don't all have to be flashy and expensive. Someone lying on the floor, or sitting in their car, or standing on a ledge, or they fell outdoors or whatever-- they have done those in the past and they could do them now. But they want to be a soap opera, not a rescue show, I guess.

Last we saw, the daughter was maybe saying a few words, not even sentences, lol.

Yup, ridiculous. And people talk about how bad this whole thing makes Grace seem (which it does) but I also don't ever see Judd abandoning his daughter, who must be completely traumatized by losing all of the constant parental figures in her life.

Agreed. Instead they abandoned the question altogether.

Not sure why this and the mothership have severely curtailed/abandoned the rescues that built this franchise. Bizarre choice, since it seems to be a big complaint from....well....everybody.
