“Presence” opens in theaters on Friday, January 24.

“Star Trek: Section 31” is a new movie that starts streaming on Paramount+ on Friday, January 24.

“Pod Save America” Is a podcast.

“Wish You Were Here” is a movie currently playing in theaters but appears to be a limited release as it is not playing anywhere in my state. According to my Fandango searching, it is playing in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago (and maybe other places but these are the only cities I checked.)

Yay, a week of Joy-Ana shows! I didn't recall Whoopi was going to be out.

I was glad Joy corrected Alyssa when she tried to attribute the ceasefire to Trump. That was such a ridiculous comment, but she's full of them these days. She got on my nerves in the second segment when she tried to speak after every single person who disagrees with her. And thrn there's the weird faces she makes while Sara's talking, like Sara is reading pre-written talking points Alyssa gave her and Alyssa is hoping Sara says them exactly word-for-word as written, LOL.

I’m surprised that they didn’t talk about Elon Musk giving the Nazi salute!

Because it wasn't!  The next time you see that video, listen to the AUDIO. Musk said "from my heart (touching his heart) to yours (gesturing towards the audience both times). Musk is very animated, so the gesture was very awkward.

Alyssa, who often cites her faith as a core part of her identity, took exception to Bishop Budde not speaking to Trump privately about her concerns. Like anything she would have said to him in private would actually register with that sociopath. The Bishop made a courageous plea from her heart based on the Christian values of mercy, compassion, and aid. It was marvelous to see those two degenerates Trump and Vance squirm in their seats while she so eloquently explained what true Christianity is.

It probably wouldn't have made any more difference in private than it did in public. Knowing that it wouldn't make much difference either way (given how Trump reacts to criticism of any kind), was the Bishop's sermon mostly performative intended for the rest of the audience rather than a sincere attempt to communicate with Trump?

In general, I think private conversations are more effective, because the person you are criticizing is less likely to be defensive without an audience and more likely to hear your message. Making comments in public always seems to be more about showing everyone how you stand, rather than convincing someone.

Aren't all sermons performative???

The Bishop had a responsibility to her flock and others in the audience to let them know the spiritual principles that are the bedrock of the church.  Now there's a woman with courage and principles.

I feel it was a sincere attempt to try to reach Trump and some of his cronies - I do feel that Vance, at least, is not beyond hope.  At any rate this was also an opportunity to tell those being targeted by Trump that they are not alone, they are being heard and that people, good people, are still out there who care about truth and justice and fairness and mercy.  Was it wasted on Trump?  Of course it was.  Jesus Christ himself could appear with words of compassion and not only would Trump demand an apology from him, so would most of his so-called Christian followers.

I agree with you about Trump and the minister, Dimity.

But Vance's body language in church showed his disdain for the minister's message. He started to speak to his wife,  who kept looking at the minister, then leaned back and to the side , crossed his legs,  wth a smug, subway defiant look on his face. He got it,  but wasn't buying it.

I think Vance is truly worse and fear if he ever has to take over.

Somewhat, not subway.

Well that's depressing.

DITTO on Joy/Anna.   I'm not of Alyssa's political persuasion)s), but I came to appreciate her calm, common sense approach.   Until now.  WHAT THE FUDDLE HAPPENED TO HER ???    She even LOOKS mean!

Hope this isn't an affect of IVF ....
