I watched mainly because of Melissa Roxburgh because I think I'm one of the few people who really enjoyed Manifest.

Melissa Roxburgh is a much better actress in this show than she was in Manifest. Or is it just better writing?

But I agree her acting was better here, and it probably is the writing.  Mick always seemed to be all over the place.

I liked this enough to keep watching and am glad that there will be more going on than catching the Serial Killer of the Week.   although the show as a little heavy handed with the hints about what was really going on in the pit.  Oliver offers some nice eye candy too (I had to look up to see why he was so familiar -- he played Jack Porter in Revenge.)

Let me be the first to predict the end of the season cliffhanger:  Something is going to happen to Samantha.

Finally, I wonder what the ration of commercials to actual show content was?  It seemed to me like there would be three minutes of show, followed by four minutes of commercials.

You mean like the serial killer who abducted her and was set on fire, isn't actually dead and has escaped from "The Pit"?

I thought it was weird that they had a video of Richard Harris abducting a woman and they have no information about who the woman was. Is it that hard to ask someone in the diner the name and info of the woman, it was a small town.

He was also Kyle on Roswell (the original 90s one).

I enjoyed this, even though it was a bit disturbing and I can't imagine what experiments they were doing on all these killers that will live up to the hype they are giving it.

I did wonder why it took them so long to realize Harris was going back to the one woman he didn't finish killing. That was my first thought.

I too enjoyed Manifest, watched it til the bitter end :) But it got so crazy off the rails at the end, that I never watched the continuation on Netflix. I started to,  just couldn't get interested. Did you ( or anyone else ) watch the Netflix episodes ? Maybe I'll go back and try again ? Assuming you all liked it.

I probably watched this show for Melissa more than anything else too. I like the premise, but I rarely end up sticking with a new show anymore. Not a lot can hold my interest, it all seems like the same few plots being redone , over and over again. Guess I'm getting jaded in my old age !  :)

Richard Harris looks like Walton Goggins!

Quote

“I think I’ve only ever been in love once in my life, and it did not end well. If only we could choose the people we fall for.”

I have suspected Nicole Weston being more than Richard’s victim based on this confession. It takes Bex a little longer to realize on the sunflowers clue and Nicole being the mastermind behind those murders.

Quote

“The blast that collapsed The Pit was no accident. It was a jailbreak. Someone wanted those killers back out in the world.”

Am glad they clear this up very early in the storytelling.

So many arcs are ready to be explored in incoming episodes:

  • Relationship between Bex and Oliver.
  • Dynamic between Bex and her adopted daughter, Sam.
  • A possible love triangle between Bex/Oliver/Shane. Yeah, cliché. 🙄
  • Oliver’s role and connection to The Pit.
  • Who has started the fire at The Pit and why.
  • The mystery surrounding what’s actually going on at The Pit.
  • The real reason why Shane inserts himself into this hunt and investigation.

Am watching this for Nick Wechsler. I like him in Revenge and Chicago PD. Am not familiar with Melissa Roxburgh and Manifest. I only know her from Tracker.

Anyway, I believe Nick can give a layered performance for Oliver’s shady character. Not sure whether the writers would be able to redeem Oliver after burning a man alive. 😣

I watched the Netflix episodes, I enjoyed them, but they were pretty crazy. I always enjoyed Melissa on it though.

Also, why is Bex suspended/on leave at the beginning? I thought maybe a connection to Oliver leaving, but sounds like that was 5 years prior (when she adopted her daughter).

If craziness that goes off the rails bothers you, you might not want to watch the finale.  😁  even after all this time I still think about things that happened in it that drove (and still drive) me crazy.   I know I posted with a lot of others on PrimeTimer about it.   But I'm glad I watched it and miss seeing Josh Dallas and Matt Long on my television on a regular basis.

I forgot about this.  As @Snazzy Daisy mentions, there are a lot of questions to answer when the show returns next month.   But I hope they answer this one and the one surrounding the Pit's True raison d'etre in Ep. 2.   However, the latter will probably be kept from us until the season finale.  Although for a brilliant intuitive thinker taught to question everything, Bex seems awfully chill about whatever was really going on down there.
