Mr. Sparkle January 8 Author Share January 8 Right? I guess the surprise hero turn isn't coming. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8549069
Mr. R0b0t January 8 Share January 8 Did it seem like people had never heard the supervisors voice before to y'all? Also, it didnt seem like they expected the ground to open up for the platform either. So I guess they just toil away in droidtopia making credits all day? ajsnaves January 8 Share January 8 Anyone catch who voiced the Supervisor? For a tick, I thought it was Stephen Fry, but that might have the Heartstopper influence. So I'm guessing Jod is not going to save the day? I half expected the lightsaber to turn red. There’s one more episode, right? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8549108
angora January 8 Share January 8 I definitely thought the Supervisor sounded like Stephen Fry. The way Jod interacts with the kids on the other side of his betrayal is fascinating to me. As menacing as threatening as he is to them, he's still specifically *not* actually hurting them--not sure if the show figured he's scary enough as it is, or if there's something to that. And even when he sneers that they're children, There's something about how he yells at them, how he bickers with them, that's just slightly...I dunno, almost at their level? Like telling Wim he was the worst one or arguing with Fern when she un-claimsies his claim on the ship. I really like that he's genuinely menacing and doesn't hate to kill other pirates, that he's a total bastard who's obsessed with At Attin's "treasure," and that he doesn't always feel like the clear "grown-up" in the scenario--what an entertaining character! I can't wait for episode 8! How are the kids gonna get out of this one? 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8549141
Tachi Rocinante January 8 Share January 8 Good episode. I'm guessing there will be some twist/hero reveal or deus ex machina with the Supervisor. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8549246
Sarah 103 January 8 Share January 8 I want Wim to have the big grand hero moment he hasn't had yet in the final episode. He saved KB, but I want something different. With one episode left, I am still not sure which side Jod is really on, because he has had multiple opportunities to physically harm the children and he has never drawn blood or given them a scratch. Maybe he is an evil pirate only interested in treasure, but also has a moral code which prevents him from harming children. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8549329
Ilovepie January 8 Share January 8 I wonder if we are going to find out Jod's backstory at all. A force sensitive - how did learn to harness the Force? I love that he had zero problem killing the head pirate at first opportunity, yet he hasn't actually done anything other than threatening and yelling at the kids. I guess we'll see just how bad he is. I didn't like Ahsoka or Acolyte, but I do like that Star Wars is exploring these people who use the force outside the Sith/Jedi construct. Like how many people can actually use the force and are out there using it on their own? That was A LOT of credits!!!! Somebody is gonna fix SM33 right????? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8549544

I am getting the impression that the Supervisor is dead. Like, long dead. The voice we heard in this episode is just a prerecorded standard issue thing that no one has heard for a long time because no one has been showing up to pick up the credits. We also get a hint of this from the grass over the landing field. Basically I think At-Attin missed the news about changes in the surrounding galaxy and the planet has been on societal autopilot for way longer than anyone anticipated. I loved the shot of Jod letting the credits fall onto his head like Tribbles bouncing off of Captain Kirk. 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8551173
tennisgurl January 10 Share January 10 (edited) Yeah, I have no idea where Jod ends up from here, he is looking more and more like a full bad guy, but he still hasn't fully committed to really hurting the kids yet, even when he could have. Is he going to reveal himself to be a full on evil villain? Is he really a selfish pirate but does have some moral lines he doesn't want to cross, like hurting kids? Is he going to have a "changed my mind kid" Han moment at the end, or become a full villain? I hope we get at least a bit of backstory on him, its so rare that we meet a force user who isn't apparently with the light or dark side and really does just seem to be doing his own thing. Jod frolicking around in money Scrooge McDuck style was pretty hilarious. Someone better rebuild my favorite robot space pirate ASAP! My guess is that the Supervisor has been dead for years and the whole planet has basically been running on autopilot for decades, with recordings from the Supervisor (or a droid hiding behind a curtain) and droids repeating their programming. That's why its like a pre Republic planet, the whole place has been on autopilot since then. It's like the Empire hid their Fort Knox and then when everything went sideways nobody told them - kind of like they have been in a Bomb Shelter since the 1950's and the apocalypse didn't actually happen...... 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8551300

thuganomics85 January 10 Share January 10 Jod really isn't helping his image: ranging from executing his former boss in cold blood (to be fair, he isn't really a good guy at all either), to threatening to harm the kids' parents if they fall out of line, all the way to cackling like a madman once he sees (and feels) all of that gold. That said, the fact that he still seems to go out of his way to not harm the kids themselves despite his posturing makes me still wonder if a part of him is preventing him from being a complete monster. Still think he's mainly bad, but more in a self-serving pirate way and not actual Dark Side of the Force way. Definitely recognized Stephen Fry's voice as The Supervisor on the intercom. I wonder if we'll actually see him or; as others have suggested; he's been gone/dead for a long time and it's been automation running the show. Would explain a lot about this planet, frankly. Hopefully SM 33 is not down for the count. He's a droid: losing a head can be fixed! Curious to see how the finale plays out! 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151339-s01e07-were-gonna-be-in-so-much-trouble/#findComment-8551403

Did we ever get any actual confirmation that all the original pirates of the Onyx Cinder actually died?
