I still can’t get desensitized to the surgery scenes.

I can watch the weight loss surgeries.  However, the skin and lymphedema removals still gross me out.

Almost two years ago, I had a DaVinci gall bladder removal.  My surgeon must have thought I was nuts when he was telling me they were going to try to do a closed procedure with the DaVinci, and I knew what that was.   The part that grossed me out was the JP drain, which I was happy to find out they were removing before I left the hospital .

That gigantic lunch isn't on the diet at all.

He took most of it home.

I'm planning on reading that this year. Along with Anna Karenina

Oh, I can't do the Russians, good for you! My husband gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card. So of course I had to buy some books. Even though I purged several hundred this summer. And my to-read piles are teetering. I haven't been able to concentrate between all the Mom drama and holidays and being sick, so I'm hopeful that I can start reading more. I usually have a goal of 52 a year. Last year I only did 42. Sad face. But I would love to read The Man in the Iron Mask (I love Dumas) and maybe Barry Lyndon. Vanity Fair is one of my all time favorites and I always wonder if its a one off or if Thackeray is unmined treasure.

So I might be going to a video arcade on Friday with my son from Oregon and his family. My grandson, 10yo, is going to be in heaven and my 8yo granddaughter will love the skeball and all the other old school video games (Pac Man, Donkey Kong, etc.). I tend to favor the pinball machines. I majored in pinball when I was in college. Fireball was my fave.

Next time you visit Salem, Auntie, we will go to BitBar, where they have tons of vintage arcade and pinball games!

I loved Vanity Fair. I need to re read it. I also spent way too much time not reading.

The food looked healthy but him saying that he eats out most of the time is a mistake. Those meals always contain way more calories than you think they do. At a local my go to is the pecan salmon with avocado, veggies and rice. Yea it is 900: calories..like …how?

I think it will help that his wife is back with him.

When we go out for dinner, I eat half and rest is dinner for the next day.

My goal is to read 50 books this year. My concentration is shot and I need to improve focus, so that's my resolution for 2025. Not to watch the news or too much TV.

I used to read every night when I got into bed, but now I’m an idiot and watch a show on my iPad. I know it’s not good for sleeping, but oh well.
