A few episodes in as well, and way too much time is being spent on Mel, her father, and her father and mother's backstory. I can barely stomach Mel at the best of times, and have zero interest in her parents, either past, or present as in the case of her dad.

Some things drag on forever, but other things conclude at lightning speed, like Preacher's trail. That has always been the case with the show, I don't know why I was hoping this season would be an improvement. However I will stick it out, and ff past many scenes/people that I have no interest in, as per usual.

It's been kind of a slog for me as well. I don't know why they are dragging out whatever this beef is between Doc and Mel's father. Just spill, already. You'd think one or the other would have told her by now, or that she would have pressed them both about what happened between them to make them hate each other so much.

And, OMG, Brie blowing a good thing she's got going with Mike for that hothead loser Brady? Really?

Is it me or is Charmaine looking kind of rough? Methinks the actress has had some work done.

I watched the whole season. I guess it's always been a soap opera, but that really stood out for me this time. And yet, I enjoyed it. Yes, I had complaints, like how fast Preacher's trial story was resolved -- I kept expecting something else popping up to complicate things -- and the mysterious conflict betw Everette and Doc. But overall I thought it was fine for what it was.

I didn't like the cliff-hanger ending. I didn't get what Brady was doing. He was torn betw Brie and Lark for some reason. It was just weird. So Lark got back at him.

Mel and Jack riding off on the horse was expected.

All in all, it was by the numbers. But it was an ok way of spending 10 episodes.

I binged the rest of it yesterday.

I always saw the writing on the wall for Charmaine. She's single, she's having kids, Mel can't have kids, it's all Mel ever wanted. Boom. I thought sure she'd die in childbirth and then Mel and Jack would get the kids. Then it turned out they weren't really Jack's. Bot now? I'm pretty sure Calvin murdered her and that Mel and Jack are going to end up raising the twins. And maybe a third kid if that pregnant girls ends up giving them hers?

Brady's an idiot for taking Lark back. He deserves to get robbed. I knew something was going to happen with that phone when he handed it over to Hazel. Idiot.

Mike knows, and still wants to marry Brie? Take him, Brie. Brady's an idiot.

Don't really give a damn about Preacher and Kaia. TBH I lost interest in Preacher after Paige left. Kaia just came out of nowhere and the show has done nothing to make me care about her.

Don't really care about Lizzie or Downer Denny either. Enough with the Huntington's already. How old is this kid, 17? 18? Most people don't start getting symptoms until they're around 40 or 50.

Did we ever hear about Hope's ex-husband before? Or Mel's other sisters? Seems like these characters were just invented this season. And they ended up being pointless.

I'm torn whether Charmaine is dead or not. Re the pregnant young woman, that's really weird that the adoptive parents are backing out. Where did that come from? I think the pregnant woman is the one backing out for some reason.

Yeah, that whole thing was a stupid mess. Why would he stay with her? And yes, the minute we see him entering his passcode, and Lark seeing this, it was clear she'd get into his phone. I did think it was just so she could check out any texts betw him and Brie. However, how could she get into his bank app? That was certainly password-protected.

I don't remember anything about Hope's ex. Mel's other sisters? Weren't those Jack's other sisters?

I found myself looking at my phone or fast forwarding through endless sappy conversations. They could have done some editing and probably cut down to 7 or 8 episodes. I'm sorry, but I cannot stand Hope's character. Who would put up with such a childish person as mayor? Or even as a friend!

I am not a fan of Mel's (or maybe I just dislike the actress playing her, not sure which) but I have never been able to stand the character of Hope. I have never read the books, was she this much of a bitch in the novels?

What I find completely ridiculous is that now we are introduced to her ex, who was apparently so controlling that Hope was meek and mild around him. Not likely. Women who are controlled and get up the courage to leave a man may become more assertive, but if they were a nice person before hand they will not lose that characteristic. Hope has been a bitch on wheels from day one, I don't for a minute believe the back story that she left and never told her hubby why, because she was never allowed a voice in the marriage. Is this how the storyline goes in the novels as well?

Still three episodes to go for me, but as ever I am only watching for the scenery, and because of Tim Matheson.

She really serves no purpose anymore. It makes zero sense that she's welcomed into Mel's friend group after all the crap she pulled on her and Jack. And in what universe would you volunteer to babysit your boyfriend's ex-girlfriend's twins? That she pretended were your ex-boyfriends? Forgiveness is one thing. Being a sucker is entirely something else. The only reason I can think of for being so nice and keeping her in their lives is so she can leave them her kids when she dies.

He probably uses the same password for all his logins. Because he's an idiot. (He could probably reverse the transfer since she just made it. If I transfer money into or out of my account online the transaction is pending for like 12 hours or something. But Brady probably doesn't know that. Because he's an idiot.)

I haven't read the books but from what I understand, Hope is a lesser character in the books and doesn't really have much of a story to speak of.

They kept threatening an appearance by Paige, and that never happened, which I think was a big mistake dramatically. Why go to all the trouble of having a trial if they don't follow through properly? This whole story was a giant snore.

And the "feud" between Doc and Everett was also a giant snore. Doctors have to make choices all the time. Would Doc have preferred two lives were lost? Good grief.

Mel's other sisters?

I don't think we saw one of them until the wedding, but the one who was at the bachelorette party has been a part of the show since the first season, I think. She isn't new.

Yes, they were Jack's sisters.  I think he's mentioned that he has more sisters than Brie, but we never saw them before.  I didn't remember his dead brother, though.

This show is awful.  So of course I watched the whole season.

I don't care about Mel's dad.  I find that storyline to be the most ridiculous, and that's saying something since all of the stories are ridiculous.  Her mom just happened to find this guy 50 years ago in the middle of nowhere and now Mel lives in the same small town that he never left?

Oh, I need to complain about this before I forget -- How do all of these people in the middle of nowhere with average jobs (or no jobs?) afford these beautiful huge houses?  In California, no less!  Preacher, specifically.  His house is gorgeous with that huge kitchen and woodwork, and he's a cook at a small bar/restaurant?  Did he win the lottery, or have a ridiculously huge military pension?  And Everett's place in the middle of nowhere was also gorgeous and he was a musician years ago.  Did he have any other job?  I can understand that Brie can maybe afford her cool house, being an attorney who wasn't out of work for that long, but everyone else?  Umm...

I understood Doc's side in his fight with Mel, and her not telling anyone, like Jack, what she really said was a lie by omission.  She asked him to walk her down the aisle, and said he was like a father to her, and then yells "you're not my father" but doesn't tell anyone else that she yells that?  Not cool at all.  What a bitch.

I find it very hard to believe that Jack's dress blues still fit after 20 years.  He also needs a haircut.

The wedding was ridiculous.  I don't mind them keeping the horse, that was nice, but running away?  And then going back like, "oops, our bad"?  Why does the whole town love them so much that they didn't care that Mel and Jack made them wait for hours?  Were they able to eat while they waited, or just the much talked about lemonade?

Brady is hot, I can understand Brie's attraction.  But so is Mike, and he's nicer.  But how did Mike find out?  I feel bad for him.

That was really the dumbest part of the episode, and that's saying a lot. I'm sure the writers thought it would be "romantic" if they ran away on horseback, but they wanted to have their cake and eat it too so they came back for the traditional wedding ceremony after all. Mel's freakout came out of nowhere.

And we never did see the doves or the finished ice sculptures.

That cracked me up too. I thought he looked better in his tuxedo, tbh.

He could tell by their body language. That was foreshadowed when he told Brie he knew her parents were sleeping together again.

I keep thinking a different actor played him last season (the last ep?). Maybe it was the same guy. I guess I could rewatch that ep.

I suppose that's one of those TV tropes. People say that all the time about Friends. It doesn't bother me too much because I love looking at the interiors, even if there's no way the characters could afford them. I'm more focused on people carrying around empty lidded coffee shop cups.

Yup. He's got a bit of a tummy now, so no way would it fit. Maybe the Sewing Circle secretly altered it for him!

And yes to the hair. He looked a little better when he took off the hat, but with it on, he looked like he was wearing a costume, not a uniform.

I finished yesterday, way too much Mel and her parents drama. Even throwing in Doc. Plus flashbacks with how her mom and dad met. The new dad was not needed nor the drama between him and doc which made no sense. Doc was mad because a kid died while he was saving Everett who didn't appreciate the saving after drove drunk into tree, but all is ok now because really he was committing suicide.

Brady dumping the con woman was great until he stupidly took her back and let her con him again. Hopefully he goes to police and gets her jailed. But he probably won't.

The wedding drama of them running off on Sugar while everyone waited was stupid drama for no reason. However the wedding was well done and beautiful.

I really don't care about Charmaine and her being involved in anything with the group after lying to Jack about the twins is ridiculous. Everyone should be done with her not Jack babysitting or checking on her.

Bree I can't fault Brady vs Mike is tough lol.
