chitowngirl December 5, 2024 Author Share December 5, 2024 I wish they would have finished the season before Thanksgiving. It seems silly to have a week off just to come back just for the finale. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8524796
CrazyInAlabama December 6, 2024 Share December 6, 2024 (edited) I have zero clue about the bake. Just like always. Did Jessica forget her pants? The first bake guesses look amazing, but the ones who didn't put the puzzle together are probably in trouble. I still never have seen anything like the dessert, but it looks good. So, no one close enough to get an advantage? I like that, for the finale there shouldn't be an advantage for anyone. Daniel & Becky's looks amazing, but has structural problems. Jessica & Lenore's looks amazing, and the cookies are a great size match to the cake layer. Lenore's shirt matches the cake. Janusz & Kieran's looks spectacular. Unfortunately the tile cookies burned. Winning bake was two layer Orange Semolina Olive Oil cake with semolina cookie tiles. Orange curd and Orange illustration. Winning team is Lenore and Jessica. Grizzly December 6, 2024 Share December 6, 2024 Part of me is happy everyone dressed up for the finale. Another part of me is wtf with these outfits and do you really want to bake in that? 4 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8525845

mlp December 6, 2024 Share December 6, 2024 I'm happy for Lenore and Jessica. They have done well all along and they seem like nice people. I liked Janusz and Keiran but they have been a weaker team and have made more nistakes. I didn't care for the brother and sister. I wish there had been more explanation of how the teams decided which tiles to use not to mention how they all got them done in the limited time frame. Maybe I missed something but I'm not even sure how they all knew to use tiles around the bottom layer of cake. 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8525904
AZChristian December 6, 2024 Share December 6, 2024 I was so intrigued by Yolanda's dress, I actually googled Meghan Markle's dress from the New York paparazzi "chase" to see if Yolanda had borrowed it. Not the same dress, but similar fabric, color, cut and length. Yolanda looked better in it. 1 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8526111
DanaK December 6, 2024 Share December 6, 2024 I missed the last 10 minutes on TV (basically the presentation of the cakes and the announcement of the winner) due to my local station updating on a big fire so I caught up on Hulu just now. Thank goodness Fox has an easy way to stream their shows. I'm happy about Lenore and Jessica being the winners. They've done really well for the most part this season and some of their creations were stunning, especially the cartoon cake 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8526124
blackwing December 6, 2024 Share December 6, 2024 (edited) Was anyone else confused by what the actual dessert in the first round was supposed to be? Even with the full clue? It said that the pistachio was in the crust and the ganache. The lemon was in the mousse and the curd. So based on the tart tin, the dome mold, and the surprise little ball mold, I think they said it was a dome tart with lemon mousse surrounding a lemon curd filling on a pistachio crust tart filled with pistachio ganache. Was that it? I thought ganache was an icing? Like chocolate ganache? Good for all three teams to at least get the form correct. How come none of those items were red herrings like in the past? Same with the final dessert. All teams got a round cake on a square cake decorated with cookie tiles. How is it that they all reached that conclusion? What if one of the tins/pans wasn't used and was just a red herring? In the end, I think Lenore and Jessica were the deserved winners. They have been the best detectives throughout the season and some of their work has been amazing. They nailed the final dessert, they were the only ones to identify the curd as orange and not lemon. And the only ones to bake an orange semolina olive oil cake. 19 hours ago, mlp said: I wish there had been more explanation of how the teams decided which tiles to use not to mention how they all got them done in the limited time frame. Maybe I missed something but I'm not even sure how they all knew to use tiles around the bottom layer of cake. There was a poster of possible designs for the cookies and there were stencils. There was a cardboard with two square stencils, there was the blue colour spray on the edges of one and the orange colour on the other one. I'm assuming there was only one tile that had both colours. I'm with you, how did they know to put the cookies on the cake? Why couldn't the cookies have just been a plate of cookies on the side? And decorated the cake with the same pattern as the pattern on the cookies? Is putting cookies on a cake a thing? I've never seen it. Dirge December 8, 2024 Share December 8, 2024 I was happy with Lenore and Jessica, would have been happy with the not-brother-and-sister team too. I was baffled when Jessica and Lenore used dark chocolate in their first bake. We've seen ingredients ignored before, but we haven't seen anything added that wasn't "out" on a counter or the fridge or somewhere, have we? I'd never heard of "tiling" a cake with cookies; I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten that right. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8527544
CrazyTrain December 9, 2024 Share December 9, 2024 What I find weird is that some of them apparently hadn't heard of an olive oil cake? I have watched enough of these type of shows to know that semolina flour = olive oil cake. I wouldn't say it's common, but it's definitely a thing though some were stumped seeing the semolina flour. I didn't mind Lenore and Jessica. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8528619
proserpina65 December 9, 2024 Share December 9, 2024 As much as I wanted Kieron and Janusz to win, I have to admit that Lenore and Jessica really nailed the clues when they absolutely needed to and thus fully deserved their win. On 12/6/2024 at 1:22 PM, blackwing said: I thought ganache was an icing? It can be an icing but it can also be a layer inside a dessert, which was the case here. 56 minutes ago, CrazyTrain said: What I find weird is that some of them apparently hadn't heard of an olive oil cake? Red Bridey December 9, 2024 Share December 9, 2024 The ladies absolutely deserved to win because they were consistently making good decisions based on the clues in the CSK. That's the point of the show, after all. Janusz and the other guy rarely got things right, or even close, and their bakes were just fine. Brother and sister were inconsistent even though whatever they produced tasted great. So the women deserved their win. Even if they dressed like children for some unknown reason. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150812-s03e10-the-finale/#findComment-8528708
