Favorite Character

I haven't rewatched, but my favorite during the original run was Toby.  CJ and Sam were close seconds, though.

Look, the entire original cast was great, but if I have to pick one, it's Charlie.

Toby was always my favorite - and no, he wasn't the leak! Leo is number two.

I loved Josh (a fellow Badger!), Leo, Toby (and no, he wasn't the leak), and Mrs. Landingham.  

But really all of them.

C.J., always and forever.  Even Aaron Sorkin's patronizing sexism couldn't ruin her, thanks to the incredible Allison Janney.

I liked them all.  Can't choose a favorite but in no special order: Bartlett, CJ, Josh, Toby, Leo and Donna.  Charlie didn't have enough to do unfortunately but liked him and Mrs Landingham for when they got to be on. 

Wasn't really into Sam as much.  He had his moments especially when confused and stumbling but he was my least favorite of the regulars.  The original regulars I mean.  Never cared for his replacement or the young blonde woman in the basement office.

Oh and I could NOT stand that woman on the first season at all that was the energizer bunny endless talking ad agency type or whatever she was suppose to be.  Annoying as hell.  Funny how she simply disappeared without any official write-out by Season 2.  Production knew her character was a total miss so glad they pulled the plug before it got worse.

Mandy played by Moira Kelly. Yeah, rewatched the first couple of episodes and she just doesn't work as part of the show. Every scene of her is like she's starring in some bad romcom.

Ainsley Hayes. I think they could have done interesting things with her if the actress hadn't become a regular on CSI: Miami.
