Sue in her 60s September 1 Share September 1 Loved Alyssa's "I'm used to heavy lifting - I'm a Republican on the view." And nice set-up by Joy. Didn't know I had missed Fred Trump back in July. Glad they are showing it again. 3 Link to comment

I don't think you get to tell other people what they are feeling, even if it seems over the top to you. 16 Link to comment

HerkyJerky September 3 Share September 3 Me and my elderly parents went to a taping of The View 15 years ago. It was in January and we had to stand outside in 20° weather for at least 45 minutes before they let us in to this cramped room where we had to stand for another 45 minures before letting us in the studio to have a seat. I’m guessing in this new HUGE studio that nobody has to stand outside in the subzero weather lol 2 1 Link to comment
maggiemae September 4 Share September 4 Oh well...here I go. Sunny...has your daughter already left for college...Labor Day was yesterday? And I doubt Manny can walk around nude since your mother lives with you. But I get the empty nester, and yes...shut up Whoopi. BTW- of course we got a lecture from Whoopi today politically. Not a fan of the new digs - shiny floor, same old table and high chairs, VERY busy background...just wait for when they wear patterned clothes. 5 Link to comment

College (and school in general), usually starts mid to late August, so I'm assuming that Sunny's daughter started a couple weeks ago. I'm just guessing here, but I would assume that Sunny's mother lives in a guesthouse on their property. That's the setup that would make the most sense to me, since she'd be close enough to be able to easily walk over but everyone would still have their own space. Though if I'm wrong, maybe there are special naked hours where she just stays in her wing of the house. 🤷♀️ 7 5 Link to comment

Mollywolly555 September 4 Share September 4 I was thinking that Whoopi lost her mother and brother last year, so she knows grief, but she could have explained her chiding of Sunny that way, instead of her "know- it -all" arrogant correcting Plus Sunny is dramatic, although many women I know have daughters- as -friends kind of relationships so it is hard to lose that closeness and camaraderie. Sunny pushes the happy, sexy husband trope almost as much as Kelly Ripa. Did Sunny get all that reconstructive surgery on her body just to look better in clothes? I wd join Manny and walk around naked too, if I was uplifted and tightened too. I know a family who built on an attached compact lovely mother-in-law apt for the wife's mother .... fireplace, bedroom, kitchen , laundry, french doors to patio and indoor entrance to the rest of the house.......so nice I wanted to live there. Another family I know bought a "superhouse" , not a mansion, but a big house, where the in-laws lived on one side with full amenities, and the family with kids lived in the rest. Great idea for extended families these days.... if you can afford it. Love the all in black portrait of them. Yes, kind of boring show. I was surprised when it ended cuz I was waiting for a guest to show up, any guest per their usual format. Or was it dark green , not black? Link to comment

Haleth September 4 Share September 4 (edited) Funny. They talked about Jimmy McCain and John, but SWSNBN was not mentioned once with the context that she used to work with them. Justice Jackson seems very nice and approachable. I’m so glad they had her for the whole show. Edited September 4 by Haleth 5 Link to comment

KittyQ September 4 Share September 4 What does Sunny have against registered Independent voters? Today, she generalized that "some" always vote Democrat and "some" always vote Republican, so they are actually in those groups. "Some" isn't "all" - it isn't even the majority. As a "lifelong" Independent, I've voted for candidates of both parties, depending on the person, the job, and the situation. It annoys me when people mischaracterize Independent voters as something they aren't. 4 Link to comment

Haleth September 4 Share September 4 And just because you are registered for one party doesn’t mean you are obligated to vote that way. I have not registered because I don’t want to be harassed constantly for contributions. (In this state I can still vote in either primary.) 3 Link to comment

It annoys me when people mischaracterize Independent voters as something they aren't. You, then, are a true independent voter. But Sunny was referring to numerous studies that show 3/4 or more of voters who say they are independent actually lean heavily toward one side or the other, and rarely vote outside that party. Thirty-one states include on their voter registration form a place to "register or declare" a party. In those states, there is no Independent Party listed for voters who would rather not choose a party - only "unaffiliated." 4 Link to comment

Sunny knows good and well that it was not all 28 seasons, and to make it worse, instead of saying it, she put it in the form of a question so Joy had to answer. Yes, Joy made a gaff in saying 28, but it wasn't important enough to jump in and correct her. 13 Link to comment

I wondered about the title, too, but I thought there might be an anecdote about it in the book. Even with this explanation, it does seem a little pretentious to have a book with your picture and "Lovely One" next to it, not your given name. On the other hand, publishers will suggest titles that catch a buyer's attention, so she may not have chosen it herself. 2 Link to comment

KittyQ September 5 Share September 5 From what I read, the reason Anna Delvey "gets to stay" in the U.S. is that she's in the midst of fighting her deportation and is on "house arrest" in the meantime. How that develops into being on Dancing with the Stars (she's a "star"??) is beyond me. Is she getting paid for that? Maybe the idea is that she'll use that money to pay back some of the people she conned? If not, then I have no idea what ICE was thinking to approve this ridiculousness. It certainly doesn't do THEM any favors. 8 2 Link to comment

I remember Brian was not thrilled about her going back to her longer hair the next day. The photos were taken the day Sunny wore the short wig, and Brian brought it up in the podcast, asking if Sunny would keep it short since the photos in the opening would show it short. Sunny kind of brushed it off, saying something like there have been others who have had different hairstyles than in the opening. It's strange, though, that the one time she wore a short wig is the day they took the photos and then she never wore it again. Link to comment

But as for Whoopi today, I do think she meant "now" as in "right now this minute." Haleth September 6 Share September 6 Dear Alyssa, Kamala did spell out why she changed some of her views in the Dana Bash interview. If anyone is still confused it’s because they aren’t paying attention. I read that Josh Shapiro wasn’t chosen for VP because his resumé is too similar to Kamala’s. That is understandable. I’d think PA residents would be thrilled they aren’t losing him as gov. 8 1 Link to comment
KittyQ September 6 Share September 6 Re: Tim Walz's brother - Whenever someone is in a highly visible political situation, there's a likelihood of embarrassing or difficult relatives suddenly appearing. If Tim and his brother haven't spoken for 8 years, there is obviously more going on and it really isn't anyone's business what that is. Sadly, estrangement in families isn't that uncommon, so it isn't all that telling when a relative pops up to disagree with a candidate. Whether Tim's brother is just trying to puncture his sibling's opportunity or if he really feels like Trump is the better candidate, the fact is that until now, none of us would care what he thinks. 3 Link to comment
