Well that was super cringey wasn't it? Let's all watch the Plaths trying to show how totally fun, funny, and cool they are (not). Oy. That said, Micah dunking Kim was very satisfying and one wonders if the editing team loathes her as much as we all do because that was a lot of slow mo shots! Also, Barry is a grade A creep BUT I loved him giving Lydia a wacky gift thst qas an inside joke between them and watching the pained look on Kim's face. Thar? Was marginally satisfying!

In next week's sex Ed talk at Olivia's place in LA, Micah's goofy friend/girmer roomie was there. Interesting...

I have never been to Bradley's Country Sausage Store before, but I would not consider it to be in Tallahassee.  I am also pretty sure there is no playground there, either.  I noticed when Kim and Berry got out of their cars and talked, we never saw the other camera when the POV changed about 180 degrees. Of course, Kim knew Ethan and Olivia's marriage was doomed as doomed can be.  [eye roll]

I zoned out during the Olivia parts, but good for her. "You have 11 facial piercings". Wow, what a romantic man Ethan is! Ethan has a very cute smile, tho.

Lydia fishing for recognition of her birthday was awkward, almost as much as the family planning the surprise birthday party at the empty pizzeria.

I am tired of Micha's girlfriend storyline. I read somewhere that Veronica is a real estate agent and social media influencer, so her modesty claims are suspicious.

Why are the Plaths putting up the party decorations? Isn't it the restaurant employees' job? I started nodding off at this point and quit watching.

Record scratch moment - when Barry was waxing poetic about Lydia's birth story, did I hear him say - in a typically Barry-style awkward talking head - that Kim bit him on the thigh during her labor, so hard that it left a mark??  It was one of those moments where I had to pause and look up from my game of Angry Birds, ask myself - did I just hear what I thought I did?  What is the context here?  How does this....happen?  She bit his what?  And then I shrugged and went back to my game, knowing that this was just another bizarre non-sequitur moment from yet another super-cringe member of the Plath family.

I can't stand Kim but I too would want to clock my husband for man-'splaining a birth story as if he were the one passing a human being through his man-parts.

Yes, he did.  Remember she delivered in the car.  I suspect she was lying across the seat with her head in his lap with the midwife handling things in the southern region.  I've delivered about 6000 kids and, yes, I have seen laboring women bite.  One lady actually wadded up a hunk of her husband's tee shirt while pushing and put it in her mouth when the pain was bad.  He ended up with a hole in it.  Next baby, they came to the hospital and he was wearing what he had christened 'my lucky childbirth shirt'.

It was pretty presumptuous for Barry to tell the story without at least giving Kim the chance to tell it first.

I am growing weary of Olivia and her sister wearing ugly wigs and telling tales of their one night stands.  I just don't care that much at this point.  Olivia's sexual awakening is not nearly as riveting as she seems to think.

Moriah is not looking well.  Don't know what is wrong, but she doesn't look healthy to me.

The "dunk your mom on your 20th birthday" thing was kind of weird. It seemed like Kim was trying to show how she can be "super fun."

I'm so disappointed that Barry didn't take the first crack at dunking Kim - like, shoving his way to the front of the line and buying $100 worth of balls to throw.

The Plaths have been on tv for 6 seasons, you'd think they would lose some of the extreme awkwardness they have when they're together on camera.  I don't know if they're just bad at pretending that the set-ups from production are things that occurred naturally, or if they are really that uncomfortable around each other.

I hope it was producer driven and not their own stupid idea.  However, stupid idea it was, no matter who came up with it.

Are we supposed to think that Olivia's face is so widely known due to the show and her online presence that she has to wear costumes so the public doesn't chase her begging for an autograph?  Get real, show.

I do know people who use aliases on dating apps if only to keep track of who they know from where and to prevent potential dates from Googling them or otherwise stalking their personal online presence before they've had a chance to become acquainted  and know for sure that they want this person to know them better.

I'm still scratching my head over this one...So walk me through this...Lydia is thrilled her family remembered her birthday because she is the middle child and feels like she is forgotten.  The birthday party is a success and they are getting ready to wrap it up and Kim announces her idea to be the "dunkee" at a magically appearing dunk tank.  Yeah, that didn't take any focus at all off of the actual birthday girl!  Nope!

Second, does anybody think it was a good look for Kim to undress and sit in the dunk tank?  Was she trying to make Barry jealous?

I’ve been falling asleep every time this show is on , does anyone feel like each episode is repetitive? None of the Plaths has anything interesting going on. I guess Ethan doesn’t work anymore, Lydia and Moriah seem to have given up having a real job as well.

There's not one think I can appreciate or admire about Kim...but I do give her a bit of credit of being proud (or whatever) of her body.  More about her as I read the responses.

I'm in Barry's corner.  He didn't humiliate Kim by being the one who dunked her and I'm glad he didn't participate as a dunkee.  This was another pathetic attempt by Kim to gain attention.

Do those camera people and editors like Kim as little as I do??  She seemed "out of sorts" every time the camera was on her during the birthday party. Not happy. Others were getting attention. She even had the gall to suggest that Barry acted as if HE were the one in labor when telling his Lydia's Birth story.  KIM!!! He's the father who observed everything. He wasn't sufering a long and painful labor. He wasn't the baby. He was the worried driver who had a sweet story of actually seeing a baby born on a highway!  

This was Lydia's birthday and Barry told a story that focused on her. Lydia's story! Were Kim to tell it, we would hear (probably) a story about how difficult and PAINFUL hours and hours of labor were.  Instead, we heard a sweet story about the special way Lydia came into the world.

It does appear that KIm did much of the party-planning...and choosing the decorations.  I hope everyone complimented and thanked her.

OH...RELIEF!  Kim's happy.  Kim wants to make an announcement; she wants to do "one more thing for Lydia."  Kim wants to get some "birthday money" for her daughter, so she rented a dunk tank and SHE will be The Center of Attention IN THE TANK! Hmmm...so how much cash did Lydia receive?  How much did the dunk tank cost? Did Lydia come out the winner?  The kids did seem to have conflicted fun...not knowing whether it would be OKAY to dunk Mommy or not.  Micah seemed pretty happy to have done the deed.

Kim's  snide happy proclamation that the next event would be planned by Barry and, "I'm gonna bring Ken," was to the camera--not to the family.

Remember when she had the kids all dress up in their nicest clothing at home and served Walmart frozen foods and tater tot casseroles (or whatever the hell that was), only to throw their dessert cake all over them? She's got some wild damn imagination to come up with the shit she does. God forbid she should have the spotlight on someone else, so she quite literally put the focus on herself. Why not say, "hey, kids with money/jobs, how about we all put money into a pot for Lydia's birthday and get her a nice gift card for her favorite store?" Nope! All eyes on Kim. 🙄

Just another pathetic cry for attention from Kim.  SHE hired/paid for the dunk tank.  She old balls for $5 each.  It was another "birthday gift" for Lydia.  Lydia may have come out better if Kim had simply given her the money spent on the rental.  Some kids did seem to enjoy trying to dunk their mother; others, not so much.

Wow, this episode made everyone look pretty bad.

Olivia needs to learn that there is such a thing as oversharing.  If she wants to sow some wild oats, she can knock herself out, but she needs to be safe about it.  There's a lot of creeps out there and she needs to be less naive.  Also, no one needs to hear about her one night stands.  It's not cute and made her look immature.  I genuinely hope she and Lydia Grace didn't actually go out in public in those cheap wigs.  I hope they just filmed leaving for the producers, then turned around and got rid of those things.

I could feel the competitive vibes between Kim and Barry right through the screen.  I hope Barry gave Lydia a real gift and not just the joke gift of a shrubbery.  I thought it was cute they had a little inside joke and the fact that it ticked off Kim was an added bonus.  The violin Kim gave her must have been paid for by someone else because we have heard that Kim has such financial issues.  I thought I heard her say it was from Nanna as well.  So hopefully it wasn't from creepy Ken.  And of course Kim's attention grabbing dunking booth was just odd.  The Plaths are odd all the way around.  They still seem like aliens trying to mimic human behavior to me.

Speaking of odd, Barry relating Lydia's birth story was something else.  There was a woman sitting next to Kim who looked like she wanted the ground to open up and swallow her.  Sheesh.  

I noticed that Micah showed some annoyance with his girlfriend this episode.  She had to work and didn't show up to the party.  Since she's in real estate, Sunday is often a busy day, so I understood.  But he was really bothered that she didn't show up to the family gathering.

Finally, I feel bad for Lydia.  I doubt she would have gotten even that sad party were it not for the show.  Back before Micah and Moriah were pretending that their childhoods were perfect, they both said that the kids were never given parties for anything.

What a shitty passive-aggressive thing for Kim to do, coercing everyone to "buy" balls to "raise" money for Lydia! Kim should just given her the she spent on the tank instead of making everyone else pay for it. 😡

Uugh so immature.  She’s that girl from the first year of college who talks about all the guys who are using her, she thinks it makes her look cool but she is actually pathetic.  I used to think it was adventurous to sleep with whoever and not care but it’s not, it’s sad.  IMO!

 

It may have been last episode, but when she was like, “I’ve been going out and meeting people,” she was hanging out with a girl who obviously was there for screen time.  Didn’t the girl just move to LA, to be an actor?  I’m sure she is meeting some genuine friends, right?
