Zach Braff might as well have been a cameo appearance.

At this point, we know the Rob Delaney character is a murderer.  The twist at the end about his identity doesn't change that he shot the kid who rigged the arm on the boat or that he shot at Neville.

So there are 7 more episodes and Yancy already has suspicions so he's going to try to lock down physical evidence?

Also, this is based on one book by a prolific author.  Presumably if they do more seasons -- assuming VV is willing to -- would Neville and his monkey come back in future seasons?

Because it sounds like neither Yancy or Neville are recurring characters in other books.

Presumably, without VV in any future seasons, it would be more challenging to attract viewers.

Maybe they will do something similar to Presumed Innocent, which drew enough viewers to get renewed, even though it's clear that most of the main cast will not be returning.

That ending, never see it coming. Christopher is unhinged. Willing to lose one arm to fake his death for an insurance scam? No wonder we always see him in a poncho.

I like Yancy/Rosa dynamic and their banters. Girl, repeatedly taking time off from work because you love spending time with a tall guy? Can you be more subtle? 😆

QUESTIONS:

A dog has bitten Yancy’s ass. He bleeds out but his shirt & pants are intact. No tear whatsoever, only blood stain. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The severed arm has been classified as accidental. No open case. How is it possible for Rosa to get her Forensics team to run a DNA test on those bone shards without a case number? I can’t recall whether they’ve done a DNA test on the arm.

I kind of like the show.

Somebody cutting their arm off to fake his death is hard core, but being busted for massive insurance fraud means losing all your money and going to jail forever so I guess it beats that.

Plus, the wife getting everything, and insurance money means a cushy life unless she double crosses you and keeps it all (which I kind of expect now).

I love this show. I mean - I live in Florida, LOVE the keys, might be Hiaasen's biggest fan, loved this book, have an inexplicable life-time love for Vince Vaughn, love me a Dukes of Hazard narration, lol. So I'm enjoying this so very much. I think they've done a great job of capturing the tone and the pace of the book. And it might be an unpopular opinion but I've been LOL'ing at Yancy's one-liners. I also love the casting.

Zak Braff was great - I was surprised to see him then remembered who the show runner is.

Yancy is the focus of another book, so I wonder if they'll just slide into that after this story is told, or if it's like the Handmaid's Tale and things just go rogue after we get beyond the first book material. We'll see. Loving it so far. Like, I have 0 complaints. But I love the keys - it's hard for me to not enjoy a show filmed there. :) (I have a Rayburn for Sheriff tshirt, lol.)
