I took my old dog for a few shepherding lessons. She had a lot of fun chasing those sheep into their pen, but she was half-Aussie and nothing was more fun than chasing critters.

A friend of mine had an Aussie blue heeler named Blue and he said it was the best dog he'd ever had.

She was an incredible dog. Half Aussie, half golden retriever. I loved to hike and have her with me off leash. Occasionally she would chase a rabbit and run away, but she always came back. I’d whistle for her and eventually she’d show up, with a look on her face like “What?”

So the cake didn’t do the trick? Shocking.

Thanks for asking, how are you doing?

Pet scan last week seemed to be okay. Tomorrow is my bone density but I am worried we might get some snow and I am afraid of falling on way to the car service car! Wednesday is the dreaded bone marrow biopsy.

But this weekend I am so sad because I got an email yesterday from my hair salon. The guy who is a co owner and cuts my hair is British and we have been friends for almost 20 years! And the email said his wife (he talked about her and their 2 kids, now college students) died unexpectedly, without pain, with her family present, last weekend! She was only like 54 or so.

I am just so floored and sad for my friend. I never heard anything about any illness, though maybe he just wouldn’t say. But she was working, active. Now I am fearing the worst.

Sorry to hear! Good luck with your tests.

You still had every right to be "feelin' funny in the morning". 🤣

I love me some Jackson!

I bow to no woman in my love for Jackson Browne. I've seen him live a bunch of times--the first time was at Passim coffee house in Harvard Square, right after his first album came out. Tiny venue, seated maybe 70 people. Last time was at the old Garden, sold out show, thousands there. He's wonderful. Once he guested on Keith Olbermann's show and I thought I would die. My two faves on one screen. My heart almost gave out.

Ohhhh we must meet up for a show! I lost count of the number of times I've swooned in his audience, worshiping his poetry and shiny shiny hair! I heard My Opening Farewell at age 3 on my sister's transistor radio and was forever hooked.

I just found one of my many *tickettron* stubs in my jewelry box today!

Sorry if this is off topic, snarkers. I lose all propriety when I think of that voice.

As a New Englander, I counsel an immediate trip to your local grocery store to stock up on bread, milk and beer. The memory of the Blizzard of 78 looms large here, and now at the first hint of a snowflake the stores are jammed. Be prepared!

Thanks!!! I did brave Whole Foods today. The lines were all the way around the store!

@MagicEyes I'll send you a few flakes!

Eww I didn't need to see a closeup of Niles' butt.

I would love this above all things!

My friend Peter brought his first album over to my house, in 1972, right after we'd graduated from high school. We saw him at Passim that same summer. He's just lovely.

I hope his new job pays well and has lots of vacation time for trips to Ghana.

Matilda will discourage this. He'll need to save every penny so she can shake the dust of Ghana off her feet and get to the US. Where she will work three jobs as soon as she is able. I firmly believe this.
