She is.  In the previous episode, she told Dr. Paradise that she didn't respect him and not having sex with hubby was A-OK with her.

@Hellga, I saw Company a few weeks ago and you're right, it was disappointing. I don't think the update worked very well. It would have been funnier if they'd made Bobby gay, rather than making the character a woman. Hilariously, we were outside at intermission and chatting about the show, and a homeless guy who was panhandling outside said "you know, you're not the the first people who've said this show sucks!". Big laughs all around. To be fair, it didn't suck, but it was not as good as it could have been.

Sorry it was a disappointment for you.
I went to see Clue yesterday and I liked it a lot if you want to give that a try!  It was more slapstick but it was actually funny and much shorter running time too!

Oh, it was OK, we had a great time anyway!

I'm going to STOMP! in May, then Come From Away in June, for my birthday. And houseguest and I are thinking of nipping down to NYC for a few days to see some shows and visit some of her NYC haunts.

Stupid Florida. Most of the farmers markets are craft fairs. Because of the weather not a lot grows local

I am seeing Lempicka on Broadway on Saturday (I will be visiting my friend in NYC for Easter).  No other musicals in my immediate future but there is another Boston Ballet performance.  I have very mixed experience with Boston Ballet (the dancers are good, but I can only describe the choreographer as 'rampant mediocrity') but I keep going... don't have much choice as far as dance theater here in Boston area.  I miss regularly going to Joyce theater in NYC.

Restaurant food is the worst. I really try to limit my intake

Amber could have eaten half of that meal and had the leftovers later.  If she eats alone that would have helped her.

"The plan is to make progress." UM...is that a plan, really?

She's manifesting. None of that "dieting" and "eating less" or "moving more" for Amber! She's going to just wish really hard and MAKE IT HAPPEN.

He looks so much smaller than her now!  I can't believe it's not motivating to her, either to support his progress or hate it and want to outdo him.  Unless she is consciously or subconsciously avoiding weight loss as a way to avoid, ahem, the physical side of their relationship.

The do have the fraternal twin vibe--not so much the married couple vibe, if you know what I mean (reference: therapy session with Dr. Paradise)

In other news, I have my 20 year high school reunion this weekend. Well, technically 21, we just never could agree on a date last year. Here's to hoping I may actually like some of these people 20 years later haha

I would think she'd be starving herself to avoid getting fatter than he is, since his obesity disgusts her so much

I think competition can be a motivator, but Amber just seems perpetually pissed off

I mean, she sat there and glared at him with her bottom lip stuck out in the beginning, while she snotted that HE was just so fat and gross that he was an embarrassment to her. Guess she hadn't seen a mirror lately? You're right, she's just a truculent, pissed off person.

My FIFTIETH was a couple of years ago. My friend wanted me to go and was going to pay for my ticket, but I flatly refused. Turns out, surprise! the food sucked and the venue was chintzy and cheap. True to form for my apathetic, uninspired, mediocre class. I'm still friends with all my besties from HS anyway.

OK, I finally saw the episode numbers, and I think WATNs are Season 7, because the description on TLC's website says they are, and a TV listing for next week says episode 11.    I suspect they've been filmed right after the original episode, and weren't shown for some reason.

(I've been naughty today, I had some puffy Cheetos, but they're baked not fried).

1 May 2024-Nathan Proctor, and wife Amber from Palestine TX. He's a drama teacher, and she's a teacher.   This was shot right after the end of the original episode, since the beginning of the recap says "1 Year Ago".    His lymphedema looks horribly painful.   Amber already failed at her own weight loss surgery.

Amber actually gains after trying to qualify for her revision surgery, and Nathan loses but not as much as he's supposed to lose.   They see Dr. Paradise, and he addresses the entire dynamic between them.   Amber's weigh-in is much better, 44 lbs off.   Dr. Now will have to gastric bypass.     Nathan's relationship with his daughter Hannah has improved, since he's more mobile.  He's trying to qualify for lymphedema surgery, and eventually skin removal.     They show Nathan at the farmer's market trying to eat better, and local organic foods.   Everything looks so good and fresh.   Amber's not doing so well, and Dr. Now cancelled her revision surgery.    Amber will have to be careful, if she does get full gastric bypass, and cheats, she'll end up with dumping syndrome, and that's serious.

They're moving out of their house, and the new place cancelled on them, and they have nowhere to go, so she's eating.   Nathan went back to work teaching (I guess), and Nathan has a second job waiting tables, and she's alone a lot.  Her Wagyu steak looks so good.

He's in the upped 300s, and she's in the mid 400's.   Next weigh in 1 year 2 months, Nathan loses 34 lbs, to 379 lbs, (he's lost 230 lbs)  and Amber is 458, a gain of 3 lbs.   Dr. Now says he can do the lymphedema surgery, on the huge mass hanging from Nathan's abdomen, and Dr. Now say to lose another 100 lbs and he will do the last skin removal and Nathan should be at his goal weight.   Amber is really struggling, and gaining a little.

Some really bad choices over the last couple weeks?  More like the last couple decades.

And it's not just food, it's all around bad choices.

I remember the therapy session with Dr. Paradise.  She absolutely humiliated him and he just sat there and started crying.

Nothing naughty, I am afraid.  Weight-bearing exercise would actually do them good!
