Nobody ever gets cut off when it comes to booze, not the guests, not the crew when they go drinking.  Hey but a guest who gets drunk and crosses boundaries is some drama for this episode and Sandy gets to look like she’s firmly in command, laying down the law.

Does production know in real time the texting and messaging that crew send and receive?  Or do they reconstruct these messages for the show later?

Do the crew let the producers know, like did Luka say BTW, I’m still messaging Natalya after she left the boat and they transcribe those messages later to put on the screen?

It just seems like it may not be a spontaneous process so they can massage it to look more dramatic if they are reconstructing these communications later.

Did Natalya choose to leave the ship but hang around nearby and message Luka?  Or was she encouraged to do so?  Maybe they’re paying to put her up in a hotel so That she didn’t have to leave Italy right away and go back home.

If there is drama later, because Jessica and Luka have been friends with benefits for awhile but Luka wants to get with Natalya, then it will seem suspicious, her hanging around and them showing all these messages.

Lily seems to make simple tasks harder than it needs to be.  How can she be among the worst workers on these BD shows?  Is she a plant, like the chef who made taco salad once upon a time?  Situation generates a lot of complaints from other interior crew.

See that is how we know this whole thing is fake, Nat had a "breakdown" saying she couldn't take working with Kyle anymore and she wanted to sort things out with her boyfriend and had to go home to do that...cut to two or three weeks later and voila, she is still in Genoa hanging out.

Luke says that he had lost interest in Nat because she had too much baggage but now she doesn't?  And BTW, that outfit she is shown wearing as she walks towards the group, so bad, a bustier and spandex pants makes her look like a street walker. Cute girl but no clue how to dress.

Kyle seeking forgiveness from the chef and it is granted but count to ten and he will be shitty again, this is how he moves thru life, rinse and repeat.

We have not seen Sandy eat dinner with any of the guests have we?

Poor Lily, no amount of training will help, she will find the most complicated way to do everything. Tumi needs to give her one task at a time but nobody has time for that, but how hard can making beds and wiping down bathrooms be? Sure learning how to tuck blankets in and replace/fold towels and toiletries might take a time or two to get right but speed is important too, what is she actually doing with all that time in the cabins?

I will always ask why these girls think any boat hook up translates to anything permanent or real or anything more than just sex and why to they want it with those men who are mentally immature and just plain horny and are willing to hump anyone's leg?

Do you remember when Hannah wanted to fire that stew who lied on her CV and couldn't really do anything? Sandy said 3rd stew is an entry level position and Hannah should have had her trained by then. So it was Hannah's fault the stew couldn't do anything. But with Lily, it's apparently not Tumi's fault, and Sandy gives Lily a stern talking to and a warning. Way to be consistent there Sand.

Despite the drunken guest being otherwise obnoxious I kind of thought the "Three-Me" joke was cute. Surely Tumi has heard it before, no reason to be so shirty about it.

Uh, Haleigh? What you've got is called a hangover and it's not contagious. This is the second time someone woke up with a severe hangover and had to leave the boat. Seriously, it could even be alcohol poisoning.

Kyle crying at the railing made me roll my eyes and laugh.  I don't think that's the reaction they were going for.

I know right? Are we actually supposed to feel sorry for this clown? OMG who would even want to date him let alone marry him?

I've always wondered about that too. My guess is that they are required to show their phones to production during turnovers and the chyrons are added in post. They can see when they're texting because all the crew cabins have cameras in them.

Is she still in Genoa? It's possible she couldn't get a flight out for a couple of weeks but yeah, it's also possible the show paid her to hang out so she can show up at one of the dinners and cause drama.

So Sandy readily takes Tumi at her word that Lily is dead weight, immediately offers to take it on, and directly tells Lily it's her last chance. Now imagine if that  were Hannah going to Sandy complaining about Lily?  She totally tell Hannah that it was her responsibility and she needed to do a better job leading her team. Heck, look at how she handled the similar situation with Luka/Max, she told Luka he had to fix it. She's annoyingly inconsistent.

Is everyone talking turns getting sick? I knew it was about time Kyle tried to opt out of working again. Migraine, toothache, sprained ankle, whatever. He's the true toxic dead weight.

Great minds think alike @iMonrey I was writing as you posted :)

I think there's only one or two charters left?

So do they even have a cast member in waiting any more or would the interior have to go short-staffed if they fired Lily?

In any event, Sandy doesn't make casting decisions.  The producers wanted Lily on the show for whatever reason.

Maybe so she could generate more firing drama?

Have they gone a season without firing on any of these BD shows?

It's a feature of the show, since they have long seasons for a cable show, to have firings so that something happens over the course of each season.

They can milk the thing about some cast member not being good worker or misbehaving and make threats to fire and finally fire them and then more drama when the replacements arrive.

Yes, it absolutely makes no sense to fire Lily at this stage.  But, then, this show is about the drama, not practicality. I like Tumi, but I would have not gone to Sandy over Lily.  I would have explained earlier why there were two stews turning over the rooms, so Sandy would have understood the dilemma.  If Lily has experience in hospitality (as opposed to housekeeping), maybe she could be pulled into service during dinners- they are asking deck crew to carry up plates, so why not Lily?

I guess Sandy is worried about her TV image so her "talking to" Lily was pretty bland, IMO. If I were Lily, I'm not sure I'd understand how rocky my position was, since she was never told what Sandy expected of her; she was just asked if she thought she could do the job.

And when Sandy was mad at Luka, I kept wondering if he was ever told what the duties of a bosun were after he was given the job with no real preparation.

And finally, during the first charter, things went fairly smoothly when they were down two stews.  Why is there so much trouble now?

There don't seem to be more rooms or guests in this season  compared to other seasons where they functioned quite well with only three stews.  And even with three stews they usually call the third stew up from cabins for dinner service.   Tumi is not doing a very good job as chief stew in my opinion; she's really not supervising her crew.

Kyle.  Since he climbed aboard, it's been nothing but problems.

Lily is a fourth stew.  If she's not getting what her job duties are, it's a reflection on her supervision.  She did mention that in  her previous job there was no laundry and it doesn't sound like she had to do beds and heads either.  As someone else mentioned, why not have her run plates and more guest-related services?   I guess if she did that, there would be less drama.

I liked Jessika at the beginning of the season but I'm really not feeling her now.  She didn't like how Kyle treated her or how she perceived Natalya was treating her.  She's doing the same thing to Lily.  Why is she playing runtelldat to Tumi about Lily's iPad?  She could have asked Lily why she had it.  She's simply trying to stir the pot - something she must have picked up from Kyle since they've become buddy-buddy.

Honestly, I can't wait for Natalya's reappearance (and I am not a Natalya fan) so that Jessika gets a taste of karma when Luka ignores her to invest all his energy into Natalya.

Kyle is the very definition of an exhausting drama queen.  He said he felt like Kyle at 21.  No, he's always acting like Kyle as a teenager because everything with him is dramatic end of the world crap.  I give Jack credit for smoothing things over with him.

I too thought Hayleigh was hungover.  Can no one on these boats go out and not get absolutely smashed to the point of vomiting the next morning and complaining about how hungover they are?   That should be a serious safety violation.

I thought it was ridiculous that Luka had to get every single deckhand out of bed to carry plates for dinner while Jessika and Lily were doing cabins.  Come on.  Pull Lily off cabins to help carry plates.  How many crew members do they need to carry plates up anyhow?

The captain doesn't have any say in who gets cast, but they can fire crew members without interference, per Captain Lee.

I think there's also this hierarchy thing where 2nd stew does "service" and 3rd stew does housekeeping. So if they put Lily in "service" it would essentially be demoting someone else. The expectation is the lowest rank does the crap job of laundry. That said, I agree totally. If someone has no idea how to do laundry, don't put that person in laundry!

That's actually giving him too much credit. He's more like a screaming four year old than a teenager.

But it's clear that for every season, the producers of these BD shows plan for firings and have back up cast members nearby.

In this case, Lily didn't just happen to be near Genoa hanging out when Natalya "left" the yacht during the season.

They stash these replacement cast and the captain pretends to call some yachting employment broker and then these replacements just show up.

No they'd have auditioned and would have been vetted by producers and in fact, production probably plans to have firings and these replacement cast members appear during the season.

Like I said, have we EVER had a season of any BD show without firings or at least the threat of firings?  It's a way to have milestones in every season, the inevitable drama on which cast members will leave/be fired/etc.

Because they like to pretend these are real yachting jobs and they have some consistent standards that could trigger people leaving or being fired.

I liked Tumi n her previous season but she is pretty useless as a chief stew which is usually a sign of someone being promoted too quickly for the position. Now she just annoys me.

It's not so much a position as a role for a TV show.

Like if Sandy is really the one taking the decisions.
I think the only authentic Sandy we see is when she is starting her motivating deliriums, sleeping and I guess when she is docking the boat, although not sure if she is  allowed to dock as she knows or she gets notes from the production in order to stir  more drama.

I don't think any of the replacements are stranding by at the ready for the inevitable firings or quittings. I think it's just really easy for the people who hire them to find them. There is undoubtably a pool of contenders they can choose from and they all have to have some kind of boating experience and the right certifications before they can even get on the boat, so it's just a matter of contacting them and getting them there. We've seen the variables in how long it takes them to get there and where they fly in from.

I do think it's possible they hire back-ups or have a list of them at the ready just in case though. We know they deliberately pick people who will cause drama so the chance of someone getting fired is always pretty high and they must factor that in when casting the season. Sort of like having alternates, but they don't always end up using them.
