For any non-"General Hospital" viewers who might be interested, Todd Manning Franco and Max Holden Dr. Bensch crossed paths for, I believe, the first time since JDP's been on the show yesterday.

And you didn't even tag me. RUDE! ;)

Max and Todd could be hilarious together. There's one scene with them from 2001 that used to be up on YouTube years ago, but was taken down for some reason, and I haven't seen it since. I always loved it.

My friend: So Renee Elise Goldsberry and Phillipa Soo will be there and we should get tickets.

What I said: Sure, it's always great to go to a concert with you and of course they're very talented and everyone loves Hamilton.

What I kept thinking: But I still hate Evangeline.

***

So at the show REG is bouncing around and hugging Phillipa Soo and calling her her sister.

What I said: How nice that that stage connection seems to be real. She has so much energy and presence.

What I kept thinking: EVANGELINE ALWAYS THOUGHT THE WORST OF LAYLA AND IT WASN'T FAIR! BAD SISTER!

****

It's a sickness. And REG made it worse by awesomely leaving OLTL in her bio amidst all the Broadway credits. I miss OLTL.

Another Father's Day, another death by feels thanks to the Kish boys (it's Scott's post, Brett left a cute (if somewhat still salty about their firing) comment):

Scott Evans has also, per his management, landed himself a movie role!

I suppose this barely counts as being OLTL-related, but Harding Lemay died the other day. He's best known as being the greatest head writer Another World ever had, but in 1999, he was a creative consultant for OLTL when Jill Farren Phelps was more or less the de facto head writer of the show that year, between Pam Long's firing and the hiring of Megan McTavish.

He died back in May, but the obituary was only recently made public (why the delay, I have no idea).

The first six minutes of Days today, with the nightmare sequence of John/Marlena's wedding gone wrong, were the most Ron Carlivati Ron Carlivati has ever been. I could have been blind and deaf and still known right away who was writing. Self-satirizing camp gone just a bit too far even for someone who likes self-satirizing camp.

(I don't deny that I laughed at one point, but still.)

And every time Belle yells "my daughter is living with a serial killer" I hear Dani yelling "my boyfriend made a porno."

KDP update: Eve wears white to the wedding but justifies it by claiming it's "pearl." KDP has lovely comic timing, but that part's not an update because you knew that already.

The woman who originally took and posted that photo is complete garbage. Dude was working at a Trader Joe's, not trafficking in underage Eastern European girls. UGH.

Topic: Five years with no work? Wow. Good for Lawson that he's still feeling optimistic about acting. I miss our pocket soldier.

Aw, Brody has a house full of kids!

...is my first reaction. My second is I'd love to see Mark Lawson onscreen again.

ETA: "Complete garbage" is right. How shitty to try to humiliate someone for working an honest job.

You'll spot two familiar faces in the picture - John Brotherton (Jared Banks) is part of the F&F family and Brett Claywell (Kyle Lewis) has been part of this event through some charity organization he founded.

I just watched a movie last night called "Surprise, Surprise" with John Brotherton in it.  He played a gay dancer who had been in a car accident and paralyzed, and his lover's previously-unknown teenaged son comes to live with them.

Brotherton is also in "Fuller House".

Could that be anymore Lifetime? /Chandler Bing

Josh Kelly (Cutter Wentworth) is starring in a Lifetime movie that, of course, is called "My Husband's Secret Wife" because of course it is.  It looks so ridiculous, OMG.

Speaking of JK, I thought I saw him in the poster for Midnight, Texas season 2 and sure enough it is him. He is playing a 'demon-hunting gay cowboy,' which is just fantastic. Here's the poster:

*reads that Josh Kelly is playing a 'demon-hunting gay cowboy' and immediately imagines Cutter, at sister's Kim urging, trying to wedge himself between Kyle and Fish*

So this show always sounded to me like broadcast TV "True Blood", would you say that's true peach?

First of all, yes to your first scenario!

And yea, it's probably like a broadcast True Blood. It's dumber than True Blood, but like in a better way though lol. It's just really stupid and fun.

Oh Ron!  So Gigi Mimi has been living in a "hoity-toity town in Pennsylvania", is told by her mother in today's episode that "you of all people should know we only have 'One Life to Live'", and has clearly had a baby

with a DOOL character named Rex.

Bringing this over from the "General Hospital" thread because it intrigued and enraged me.  So Wes Ramsey, a.k.a. Laura Wright's Boyfriend, was on Steve Burton's stupid podcast and he apparently said this (credit to @ulkis):

Quote

He [LWB] had actually read for Frank for OLTL in 2009. Frank said he had wanted to cast him but he didn't get the part because the show was on its last leg and Frank said to him he "didn't want to do that to you in that way then." Which seems to me that Frank told him they didn't hire him because Frank didn't want WR to get the role only for the show to be cancelled on him.

...I have many questions.

1) Who could he have been reading for in 2009?  The recast Ross?  Eli?  The random dude Reed Kelly dated for five minutes?

2) On its last leg?  OLTL wasn't cancelled until 2011, two years later.

3) So Frank didn't want to hire LWB in 2009 thinking the show might be cancelled?  But he let Ted King relocate across the country four months before the cancelation was announced?

That's exactly the reason I have no interest in watching it. We get it, he's SO OLD to be a rookie police officer. Har har.

Sorry, Nathan Fillion. Love you in Firefly and Dr. Horrible (and Castle, before the BTS stuff became known), but this one I'm going to skip.

Ted King was so completely screwed over by Frank, in every possible way.

He sure was.  I remember reading some interview with him right before he premiered where he came off very excited and engaged, talking about how he had had creative input in the character and that he was all-in because he was moving his family east.  And then, what, two months after his first appearance, they announce that Roger Howarth's coming back.  A month later, cancellation.  And then that mess with Baz, ugh.

If only they hadn't ruined Eli and he and Blair were solidly married when Todd showed up...that might have been a triangle worth watching. Or it might not, because I'd hate to see poor Eli end up the loser. But it would have been more believable than using Tomas.

You guys are killing me with the Eli/Blair talk. Man... what a lost opportunity. What a ridiculously short-sighted move to actively ruin an amazing opportunity.

To this day, I'm not sure where I would have fallen on the Fantasy Todd/Blair/Eli Triangle. Possibly rooting for Blair to keep them both. Maybe giving me the opportunity to get over Todd/Blair once and for all. It's hard to say.

I mean, now? ... ... ... I'm still hard-pressed because I did really like what T&B had on-line but the idea of Blair and Eli remains completely and utterly delightful. They were given so little and did so much with it.

If you've been missing Farah Fath saying, "Rex" (you haven't)...

P.S. - we haven't heard this baby's name yet, I'm 100% convinced it's gonna be Sierra.

Or Shanette, Shanella, or Shaneallonnaboomboom.  Cuz Mimi/Gigi is just so classy and Ron C. is SO clever.

Just ask him.

So I watched the season premiere of "Midnight, Texas", featuring Josh Kelly (Cutter Wentworth) as, to quote @peachmangosteen, a "demon-hunting gay cowboy".  His character's name is Walker and he had a bit of a Faith from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" vibe, showing up in town and helping this, I guess, fallen angel with a man bun Joe (played by Jason Lewis from "Sex and the City") fight off some demons using a mechanical gauntlet that rips their hearts out.  Also, Joe seems to already have a boyfriend so looks like ol' Walker might be a bit of a homewrecker.  Works for me lol!

Overall, the show was kinda broadcast TV "True Blood" like I thought, with a little bit of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" mixed in, but was very watchable, I think I'm gonna stick with it.

Yay! It's a really fun and stupid show. Just the kind I like!

I'm interested to see what JK's character's deal is and how JK does with it. I watched the first season of UnReal, but I don't remember his character at all lol.

Josh Kelly wasn't in last night's episode, though his character made a phone call, heh. I'm enjoying the show. I like that the overall mythology isn't so complicated I need to watch the first season to understand it. It's dumb fun. (And wow, is François Arnaud hot.)

I only watched the pilot of "UnReal", mainly because of Josh Kelly (the show itself just wasn't my thing), but he did seem kinda miscast in that part, and I know from the Internet that Jeremy went on to be reviled.  Walker so far seems a little closer to Cutter and much more Josh Kelly's speed.

I agree with @dubbel zout that the show was very easy to jump into - the premiere was clearly playing on stuff from season one, but wasn't so bogged down by it I couldn't understand what was happening.   And it's always nice to see Jamie Ray Newman, who's been in a million things by now, but who I always think of as Kristina The First from "General Hospital".
