lilmarysunshine May 4 Share May 4 Holy cow. Gary bringing the shade to Tyler. And his disclaimer “I am not saying it is this way with you” or whatever. lol Leah’s life is just too boring for a show so she tries to make up for it by making “how-to-talk-to-your-kids-so-people-think-you-are-a-great-mom” videos. (I am not saying she is a shitty mom. Just saying I am tired of all the “spontaneous” rehearsed conversations.) 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8652946
suzeecat May 5 Share May 5 Dang, how did Leah become so articulate and introspective at her age? When I was her age, I would not have been able to express anything beyond "my mom is such a selfish beyotch, I hate her"! It will be interesting, once Carly turns 18 and can do what she wants. I wonder if she will rebel against T&B and do a People interview for the money at least. She is, after all, still full of C&T DNA. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8653778

Interested in this as well. 18 year olds still have the judgment of...18 year olds, and I am sure C&T would exploit any issues between Carly and B&T, as well as enable any unwise choice Carly was making that was causing the issue (be it school, her choice of friends, romantic partners, drinking, etc). That said, there is a really good chance C&T (and their extended families) are a source of extreme embarrassment for Carly, and the last thing she would do is encourage any additional contact. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8666790

I think Carly's home is in WV?, and as a native I can tell you the trash-o-meter is strong among the middle classes there. If I had to bet, I'd put my money on Carly's being embarrassed to death by C&T--especially since C&T are bound and determined to demonstrate their trashiness by posting the crap they're apparently posting. These two (C&T) have caused more people to cancel "open" adoptions than anything else. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8667066
applewood May 21 Share May 21 Carly's family lives in North Carolina. I think there might have been an episode where they were having a "Carly visit" in West Virginia because B and T were visiting some relatives there. I was also wondering once Carly turns 18 if she will have any relationship with C and T. She may not. Or I could see her not having a relationship initially but reconnecting years later when she has kids of her own. who knows? 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8667722

It seems to me that what C&T need is a post from Carly, for the world to see, that she does not want to have contact with them now. That when she's ready, she'll get in touch with them, and they must respect this boundary. I gather that C&T believe that B&T are keeping Carly from responding to them, maybe even somehow keeping her unaware of the online barrage. C&T need to know that B&T love her, think about her, want a real relationship with her, and the only way they'll believe she doesn't want the same is if they hear it from her directly. But they might believe such a post was fake; even a phone call might, in their minds be forced. In the beginning, Sixteen and Pregnant was a really significant show. Teenage pregnancy rates actually fell when this show let kids know what being teen parents really involved. It's become a hotbed of emotionally scarred young parents, emotionally scarred children, and in some cases emotionally scarred grandparents and siblings. Giving these kids enough money that they don't have work--or, with exceptions--learn how to do something to support themselves is morally criminal. imo. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8669159
Andyourlittledog2 May 23 Share May 23 Tonight's ep: I'm Ready for the Next Chapter This show is moving inexorably toward the teenagers taking over and the show being focused primarily on them. I absolutely hate it. HATE it. Amber is a bigger *** than we thought. Her reaction to Leah's text message was so cruel and lacking in any empathy or understanding whatsoever. She is just completely unable to see Leah as anything other than someone she birthed and who owes her respect and love. If Leah has a problem with that then I guess Amber thinks she can just go to hell and stay out of 'her business'. It's such a weird take on what Leah is trying to say and do and honestly I did not expect this level of just cold hostility from Amber toward her daughter. Poor Leah. So glad Christina is there for her. Mackenzie is shouting her sing-song cringey way through another episode. Whether it's a gender reveal or just doing the laundry, she makes everything as loud and childish as she possibly can. She was made to be a preschool teacher and that is about all. I just can't deal with her. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8669329
snarts May 23 Share May 23 Interesting how Brandon/Teresa were willing to showcase Carly's song for Catelynn/Tyler on TV but they wouldn't let them listen to it privately. I found myself agreeing with Tyler on how that seemingly conflicted with their earlier demands for privacy. I get where Leah is coming from & her fears about Aleeha's boyfriend. But I wish she'd realize that not allowing him in her home won't change anything. She's better offer having him come to the house vs. sneaking around. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8669422
Mr. Miner May 23 Share May 23 Amber’s reaction was no surprise, she’s absolutely repulsive! 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8669697
heatherchandler Friday at 10:52 PM Share Friday at 10:52 PM Ok I know I’ve asked this before and I got an answer, is there a Twitter that posts the segments? I cut the cable cord and this is the only thing I can’t watch! This and Love after Lockup. I think the reason B&T insisted on a public gift is that they didn't trust C&T to not manipulate it into something other than what it was intended to be. Even so, B&T immediately went to the negative and basically pissed on the gift and made it somehow a twisted manipulation on B&T's part. I think at this rate nothing B&T do will be treated as innocent or positive by C&T. They are stuck in negativity and conspiracy theories about the adoption. If I were B&T I would be cautious dealing with them at all at this point. No good deed will go unpunished. If C&T wanted to make adoption unappealing they have succeeded, but not for the reasons they think. Certainly open adoption is looking pretty terrible right now. Aleeah looks so much older (and acts so much older) than she is that it is easy to forget how young she really is. However, if Leah is okay with her dating at her age and lets her accept a gemstone ring from her boyfriend then it seems odd that she is saying no to even allowing the boy to come to dinner. She seems to think that it's better that the family doesn't even know this boy so he won't get attached or they won't let down their guard or something? I don't know. I do know that the key to raising teenagers is to let them grow up under supervision and not clamp down tightly and make them grow up secretly on the down low because the reins are too tight at home. Your supervision grows along with them not opposed to their growth. It's better that they do things with you watching and guiding and not behind your back. And Aleeah is someone who is going to need that kind of watching/guidance because I think she is very self-confidant and poised and beautiful and is going to attract a lot of older boys. She is going to need her parents to keep an eye out for boys who are too old or have bad intent that she may not be able to see yet at her young age. She's going to need to trust she can talk to her mom and not keep things away from her mom. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134073-all-episodes-discussion/page/8/#findComment-8670797
