Detective Eric hasn't been here in a long, long time and I'm happy to see him in hero mode again. I think the last time was the Greece rescue or maybe the warehouse. I hate that Drake isn't going to be in more episodes, obviously, but this is an overdue moment for Eric, getting to the bottom of something and setting it right.

Fiona could seem more guilty than the scripts are allowing her to be. That pillow smothering moment really hurt her likeability. But she's still kinda interesting.

I really don't understand the way everything seemingly jumped forward, to the point that in one episode, suddenly Rolph has a cure, and paperwork to prove it, and no sooner does Kristen mention said paperwork to Xander than he's seemingly magically read it between scenes and convinced Sarah to change her tune...all in one episode!

....that could have taken four episodes to establish organically and yet they raced through it!

Anyway LG was the MVP this episode. Her tears were so real. Sarah's frustration over not being fully able to care for herself or her child really came through, and I loved her rolling her eyes at Crazy Kristen offering a cure. She showed her range well.

Gabi and Stefan broke up? Good riddance. I wish this meant we'd get a loveable Gabi back but alas, that ship has pretty much sailed.

OMG FINALLY someone remembered that Small Bar still existed in Salem. Sadly, it was Eric, not John, or even Steve. Where is Steve?

Don't know about Steve, but Drake had stopped taping by then, so no way John would've done that.

Maybe when Cwikly's work starts, she might do that.  But Ron's the one who created Evil!Gabi and he seems to like having her around.  Honestly, her character got better and much more interesting when she took her heel turn.

This brings up an interesting point.  Even if you lost your memory, wouldn't you still have the same basic preferences - like hate or love the same foods, music, style of clothing etc.?  If, for example, you knew the "old" Abby hated onions but loved cilantro wouldn't you (without telling her) give her various things and see how she reacts?  Play music and she if she mentions loving a certain song.  Or even do a sort of "gotcha" bring up an author, song, food you KNOW she hates and tell her it was one of her favorites and see how she reacts?

The last Abby would have loved Sarah McLachlan.

The original....Pussycat Dollz and Marilyn Manson.

Hmmm.......maybe........

Though I see all the Abby's mainly being total superfans of "Weird Al" Yankovic.  Just because I WANT Abby to like him.

It just seems fair for this to be her favorite music after the torture she's put us all through over the years.

Besides, you know Julie has all his records.

ALM changing her eye expression partway through her kiss with Chad was so weird. Giving it to the camera a little too hard, there!

She does have epic hair though.

I often forget that this Kristen has history with Xander. An ugly history too.

Even though its rushed and has some plotholes, this is one of the better umbrella stories they've done on DOOL in a while. I'm enjoying the impact on everyone around Xarah and Fiona, like Tate and Holly, Kristen and EJ, Eric and Invisible Nicole, Brady and John (rip) etc.

Nicole booked a room in a hotel for her daughter? Huh.

Fiona going coockoo only means Sophia will lean on her for a Holly-related favor at the mansion at some point.

How did Chad have his wedding photo handy at the Parisian apartment? Does he own that place?

Sarah's realization was pretty clunky.

Marci's Abby- Country Music

Kate's Abby- Dave Matthews Band or Shakira

Ashley's Abby- Pussycat Dollz or Britney Spears.

Chad/Abby briefly lived in Paris they had that Beyond Salem series Chabby in Paris so that part actually tracks.

I remember that set...but did Chad own that apartment? Is that why he left family photos there? Or did Chad pack the photo to put in this new space?

...nobody really cares about this besides me, right? 😅

It was a good episode today mostly. I wonder if this momentum will lead to good December/Jan plotlines though.

No, me too, almost as much as I care about his romance with Fabby.  The reason I remember is mostly because it's the tackiest "Paris" apartment I've ever seen onscreen.  It looks like it's been decorated from the basement sales area of a Ross Dress for Less by someone who bought everything blindfolded.

I'm assuming that the set decorations are now being done by a dedicated team of dumpster divers.

The "new" Horton living room isn't a whole helluva lot better.

When they walked inside, Fauxbigail said something about being glad Chad kept the apartment as a vacation home.

Disappointed. This was so flat and cliche.

Sarah and Brady suddenly have flashbacks at the exact same time? Really?

Sarah decides to immediately confront Fiona before getting backup or speaking to Xander? And she does it with a squeaky vocal delivery, like Fiona ate all the cookies in the house without asking?

Fiona's performance was no better. Is she playing an evil queen in a fairy tale?

Neither of them elevated the lame script with their performance.

Why didn't the writers have Sarah try to pretend all was well and get away from Fiona, who was suspicious she may be remembering? Something different. Something clever.

Ron loves his "it was YOOOUUUU!!!" reveals. Too bad its always the fault of the obviously evil characters.

I didn't mind the callback to Orpheus, but it just reinforced why everyone here calls him ReRon. He's literally already done this plot.

A waste of an okay setup.

And now Mark is helping Fabby pull an Aiden? Yeeesh.

How are they justifying Chad leaving Nicole out of the wedding he just forced Holly to attend?

Well I liked it. I love that we had two big reveals today. And on a Monday!

Steve is the smartest person on the show, how clever to trick Mark into showing his hand. How quick can he get to Paris now to stop this wedding?

Xander saving Sarah at literally the last moment was heart stopping. I am so sad that Fiona was absolutely everything he warned Sarah she would be. He is going to be devastated and blame himself.

I'm scared we will have nothing but Body and Soul left once these two plots wrap up

Maybe Chad really invited Nicole but she couldn't make it so Holly took her place instead?

I suppose....but deliberately attempting to kill Sarah to cover for accidentally injuring Sarah is dumb. Fiona isn't supposed to be drunk here either, so I really can't wrap my head around this. No semi-intelligent person would think "I have to hold onto my son - I'll kill his wife!" Pushing her down stairs might not even do anything except bruise her. So...wtf?

This is Ron writing to a T. Have Kristen suddenly wave a gun around Horton Square during a wedding like a sloppy maniac because it's exciting! Have Gabi nearly kill Julie with her cell phone during a wedding because it's exciting! Have Fiona attempt to smother Sarah and later push her down the stairs because it's exciting!

Nevermind that it makes these women look like irredeemable psychos we can't even relate to. He escalates things without justifying them. His idea of "soap" is so... cartoony, but the thing is, I've seen better writing on cartoons.

Another good episode, usually I can't stand Eric but he has been used well in this story. I appreciate that he even had a moment where he and Brady thought about how this is going to hit Xander, once Brady established he had no idea his own mother was the real culprit. I hope Sarah has the good sense to just say she saw Brady's face in the passenger seat, that will get her out from the perjury threat.

Marlena agreeing to do Hattie's last scene was kind of sweet. Alex and Stephanie were just kinda there. They don't irritate me the way he and Theresa did, but I have zero interest in them. Johnny is an idiot. Poor Chanel.

The best scenes were Xander vs Fiona. You could just feel his sadness and grief that she was, in the end, everything he thought she was. I like very much that Xander admitted that he is also a felon, liar and reprobate. As long as he keeps acknowledging his awful past and his current failings, I'm good with him. He and Fiona were amazing today. I hope this is not the last we see of her. I still have so many questions, particulary about how she and Victor hooked up, and what went down with him and his brother. Speaking of, we got a Titus mention! I like that he is still "Dad" to Xander, unlike Alex who immediately relegated poor Justin to his first name.

I wanted the last scene to continue. What on earth does Sarah say to Xander now? What does he say to her? They both will be sick with guilt, her for bringing Fiona into their lives, him for being her son. I look forward to them talking to Brady too.

So Johnny is suddenly a total putz. Huh. Ask your wife to star in a sexy soap, then flip out seeing her acting sexy with other men? Bad writing.

Stephanie screwing in the same hospital her mother works at? Abigail would be proud. But also, bad writing. She does PR for a living but has sex in public?

And then there's bipolar (or something) Fiona, saying she genuinely loves Sarah seconds after calmly saying she's going to murder her. You know, Ron, we could have had the exact same confrontation without the ridiculous "I'm gonna throw you down the stairs, dearie!" bit.

Plus didn't they tell us there was an elevator in the mansion? Why then would Sarah ever be near the stairs? Fiona, your murder plot made no sense.

Emmy award nomination for Paul T, though 👏👏👏 He delivers. His crying and disgust were so much better than past attempts. Growth!

I noticed that too! Seriously, ARE there separate teams of writers handling only certain plotlines?

We also got a Samantha mention today...

I have no opinion on Johnny, Chanel, Alex or Stephanie cause it is stupid

Fiona said she had a nervous breakdown, I thought that was evident today when she was thinking she could go check on Victoria right after attempting to hurl her mother down a staircase. She wheeled Sarah out of the bedroom towards the stairs, I am sure Sarah uses the elevator but it is maybe the other way?

As for the 'dad' stuff, I just assumed that Alex calling Justin by his first name was because he is a self involved jackass who wanted to make Justin 'pay' for not being his bio dad, while Xander actually loved Titus and still in his head thinks of him as his dad.

Paul and Serena were both amazing today. I really hope that's not it for Fiona. I want to find out so much more about her.

So today was all Body and Soul?  It looked that way so I skipped it.

There was plenty of drama with Xander finally finding out that he was wrong about Brady and that Fiona was the culprit all along, not to mention him finding out that she tried to kill Sarah.  Great scenes.

It looked like, from the scenes, that Xander wasn't even primarily angry at Fiona for hitting Sarah.  It was, like most people in Salem, that she just didn't tell him the truth from the start.

Really, these characters would save themselves and others so much heartache by just telling the truth.  Xander might've been mad at Fiona for a while, but ultimately calmed down had she been honest with him from jump.

She really just had to stay at the scene of the accident to avoid all this. Brady was so trashed he would have pulled focus anyway. Xander would have seen it was an accident and been too worried about Sarah to care about the rest.

I think there still would have been fallout.  The fact that it ONLY happened because Fiona was drunk is a REALLY big  hurdle to get over.  I do agree that the fallout would have been less, but it still would have caused a major disruption in their relationship.

Brady and Fiona's showdown was excellent.  Eric Martsolf played Brady's anger and rage at Fiona to the hilt.  And while Serena was great at showcasing Fiona's regret, I was glad that Brady gave her no quarter for the hell through which he's been going.

J.J. showing up was a nice surprise!  Casey Moss still looks as handsome as ever!

Tate and Sophia are clearly getting together, aren't they?

Thank goodness that E.J. listened to Xander and Sarah and dropped the charges.  Brady didn't deserve this.

Today was excellent. Tate is now really working for me, but I much prefer him with Sophia. I feel like Holly needs an older bad boy to temper her annoying personality a bit. I have really liked the teens inclusion in the hit and run story.

Brady and Fiona were so good today. Serena Scott Thomas sure got stuck with a loathsome character. Her body language today was spot on. She was alternating between self pity and self loathing. I am glad they gave these characters some time to talk out what went down.

Loved Holly calling out Fabby on her most recent lie. Of course Chad will still buy whatever excuse she comes up with. I assume the marriage is not legal because she married under a false name and identity.

Paul Telfer was MVP today. His face, his acting. He showed so much sorrow today, and how awful for her to have to face that he was right all along about his vile mother. And that the person he loves above all others was her latest victim in a lifetime of selfish behaviour. Say what you like about Xander's past, but he again acknowledged today that he is a creation of Fiona, and has been as awful as her. I can't believe they still had to talk EJ into letting Brady go.

Yeah, when Sophia stopped throwing herself at him , I was like, "You know, this actually works. They look good together." Agreed that Holly needs a bad boy who exasperates her.
