I only trust what’s said when Michael and Brittany are alone. They are clearly considering the idea of booting Monte as a way of furthering their positions. They are also weighing the advantages of staying loyal (at least for now). It doesn’t appear to me that they are definitely leaning one way or the other.

For now, they’re telling everyone what they want to hear, and whichever side they land on will never guess they wavered.

See, that's the thing - as soon as Terrance left the HOH before Turner came in, they were definitely NOT buying the idea of booting Monte this week.  Point blank, they said it only confirms their suspicions about the other side working together and that this is flashy move but is it a smart move?  They both expressed a lot of doubt at that.

Agreed, but before that, they also said that taking out a LO would be a great move. They’re still working it out. I don’t think a definite decision has been made, which is smart. They have time.

Taylor's now arrived. She's very against this idea.

You heard the convo entirely wrong. They said that the non-LO's are such weak competitors that they would be completely exposed. They said having LO's still in the game is better protection for them.

I'm really curious what's going to happen if Michael does use the veto and puts Daniel/Kyle up.  I could honestly see Kyle continuing to spiral to the point where he gets voted out.

I actually see the votes to evict Kyle if he shows more loyalty to Alyssa than the LO's:

Turner/Monte/Taylor/Brittany/Joseph

ETA: now Kyle's there. Let's see what he says.

LOL - dying as Kyle tells them about how Jasmine comes "waddling" into the bathroom where he and Alyssa are talking.  He immediately says "that's mean" but Taylor laughs and agrees - he's not wrong.

But Turner started imitating the waddle and Taylor chides him "Turner shut up."

As much as Kyle might want to save Daniel/get Monte out this week, I am hoping that he's realizing tonight that the other side is just too dumb for rocks and he needs to stick with the LOs at least this week.  He just asked "after the last two weeks, how have they not pieced this together?"  And he seems really astounded at how obvious and bad Jasmine is with her strategizing.

But, if I’m Daniel & I stay & win HOH, why wouldn’t I put up challenge beast Michael to get out him?

If Michael saves Daniel I think it's self explanatory that he will make a deal with him first. Safety for 2-3 weeks at least.

Kyle's admitting to Michael that he gave Daniel some coaching before Daniel went up to the HOH, but the really bad gameplay from Jasmine and the rest of that side seems to have convinced him that sticking with the original plan to BD Daniel this week is the right move.

If I’m Daniel, why honor that? He knows he’s alone. He knows he has physical attributes like Michael & can win comps. Take out kingpin comp beast & throw house into chaos & lay low. Not seeing him stick to a deal.

You are correct. I went back and relistened. Crazy how missing a couple of words at the beginning can seemingly change the whole substance of a conversation.

Yes, Michael and Brittany are sticking with the Leftovers. And now they know exactly where everyone else’s loyalty lies. (Including Terrance, which is not good news for him.)

Because Daniel has nobody and everyone wants him out. If Michael saves him this week, Michael becomes the first person who actually doesn't want him out. Michael becomes his hero. Why NOT honor this?

Yup - either Terrance or Jasmine are gone next week if they don't win HOH.

Because he knows Michael can beat him in comps. Take out Michael, let sides shoot at each other, lay low as someone with no one. He’s be on jury, which he wants. Why not take shot?  Ps: to be clear, I want nothing good in this game for Daniel.

So what? Michael just won HoH and veto and he saved Daniel. (in the hypothetical scenario that Michael doesn't use the veto and Daniel stays)

And Michael can’t win HOH Next week, but Daniel can. Nonetheless, I’m done with this conversation, perhaps next week, if Daniel survives we can see how it goes!  All the best!

Michael's catching up Joseph on what's been going on while he was downstairs. Michael says that Terrance didn't try in the last part of the competition because he didn't win veto. Michael says that Jasmine and Terrance brought up with Monte's name to go out. I wish that Kyle wasn't in this conversation. Kyle just keeps talking down Jasmine.

Alyssa came into HOH and sat down on the bed with Michael. Kyle immediately tried to get her to leave to play a game, and she said she'd rather just hang out and talk. But she eventually did go out with him, leaving Michael, Joseph and Turner in the HOH room. Kyle was like comically urgent in trying to get her out -- I don't know if he didn't want her to possibly say something to the group that Kyle would rather not have her say.

Taylor brought freshly baked cookies up to the HOH. She says "Good job, Taylor!" when everyone says they're good.

She mocks what the downstairs people are saying about her, "These cookies are amazing! Your jokes are so funny!"

Joseph talks about how Jasmine, Terrance and Nicole are the biggest ass-kissers to HOH; they ignore you until they think you can help them.

Indy comes in and of course the good talk stops. All she has to contribute is that she knows Joseph wants a showmance with her but all that will happen is that they'll break each other's hearts.

Ha when Indy leaves, Joseph tells Michael that Indy is his hall monitor, always checking up on him. They agree that Alyssa is in charge of monitoring the group but Indy is for Joseph alone.

ETA: Jasmine says she can deliver the four votes needed to vote out Monte, if Brittany joins for a majority of 5. Jasmine, Alyssa, Daniel and Indy. Indy doesn’t like Monte  because he lied to her, and because he called her “chica”.

I believe Jasmine and that's why I think she's dangerous in jury. She'll try to convince (intimidate!) people to vote her way.

The same way she convinces people to make her food or wipe her ass.

Michael says that he did and didn't want to win veto. He says that he didn't get a lot of information yesterday -- all he heard was people saying "Daniel" -- but now he has a lot more information from people bringing up other names.

Yes, this revelation answered my question about why Michael beasted up to win yet another comp, instead of just letting Joseph or Monte take it. Because he has the veto, everyone is coming to pitch what he should do with it. If Joseph, say, had won, they wouldn’t know how much the others want Monte out.

Good move. And I’m guessing that winning so much isn’t really painting that much of a target on him, because the people who might call him out for it are throwing a lot of comps. I expect they think they can take him when it comes down to it.

Michael's wishing he could, but probably won't, open his veto speech by saying "I've decided not ... to waste this opportunity to use the veto." He and Joseph agree it would be good TV but would piss people off.

Michael's planning to tell people that he promised last week to keep Monte safe for a week.

Joseph will tell people that he asked Michael to use the veto.

Indy comes back in when Michael's alone. She says she'll support Michael, and he asks her to let him know if she sees any signs that the house is changing from wanting Daniel out. Michael says he doesn't want to upset the house. Indy says she's fine with Daniel or anyone but that Alyssa, Jasmine, and Joseph would be hard votes for her.

He tells her that she has nothing to worry about, so she can relax for the next few days.

Alyssa comes back in and they talk about the otev comp. Apparently there was one side that no one but Michael worked in. They had to gather answers somehow that were "shards" and that's why their hands are all cut up.

He gives Alyssa the same speech he gave Indy. The name she brings up is SURPRISE SURPRISE Monte.

I know how to spell Monte.

He told Alyssa that he was wondering why Joseph, Monte, and Terrance, who were the last ones up with him, didn't just work together to give all of the answers to one person, because that's all they needed to take themselves down. But they didn't, so he won. I can imagine him telling Alyssa this in order to make her think that he's not in a group with Joseph and Monte. But I wonder if there's a little bit in the back of his mind thinking, "they didn't want to take themselves down -- they wanted me to do it."

While there's still a chance for Kyle to melt down while nominated, I think once again, he has lucked into remaining in a good situation in the house, as he didn't have to lose Alyssa last week due to Daniel's stupidity, and now, with Daniel nominated with him and evicted, he is saved from his moronic (and fairly racist) plan to break up the Leftovers way too soon.

I saw that Brittany was back and rewound a bit and got to Terrance asking "Who's on towels tomorrow, ladies?" and I dislike him so much that I didn't even rewind more or stay to hear if he wasn't being a misogynistic jerk.

Brittany has six stitches, not the dissolvable kind.

The camera person zooms in on the cookies, which are so uniform that I wonder if they were like one of those premade refrigerated logs or something. Brittany talks about how the British people call cookies "biscuits" and she does a Great British Bakeoff imitation "It's Biscuit Week" and she and I share favorite TV shows.

Taylor apparently revealed that the DR tells her to grab a bag of Lays chips when she's in there.

In the HOH room with Michael and Brittany, Kyle says that Joseph and Monte's alliance will probably dissolve if Michael takes them down. He's backtracking for sure.

AAAAARGH not only is Kyle still saying what a threat Jasmine is, but he ever-so-casually asks Michael if he got an idea, from his talk with Alyssa, that she's someone he could work with down the road.

Brittany shares that Turner said he had a final two with Terrance.

Michael points out that Alyssa, when calculating votes for particular sides, always includes Indy and Jasmine with herself. So they're very tight. Brittany notes that that tightness held on even after last week when there were some indications that Indy and Jasmine didn't trust Alyssa; they obviously weren't telling the truth.

I'm really starting to like Brittany's take on the house in general.

My favourite part about the whole Kyle saga is that he's also conveniently forgotten that he wanted to target her originally and started the whole BUT WHAT ABOUT ALYSSA movement and now he's going on a vengeance quest to eliminate those that wanted her gone.

Once Daniel is gone, I predict Kyle’s racist plan comes back with a vengeance. That’s one less white person in the house, after all. He’ll want to make sure the balance doesn’t tip any further in the wrong direction.

I came in on the tail end of a conversation earlier, but Kyle seemed to be advocating for bringing Indy closer. Alyssa was also mentioned as a potential ally, but not Jasmine. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but once someone like Kyle reveals themselves, I mistrust their every move.

The doctor told Brittany that she can't submerge her stitches but should be able to use it by Tuesday. She says it feels so much better now that it's stitched up.

Outside is open, and people are starting laundry.

Wow I didn't hear the beginning but Taylor's telling Brittany that she had a bit of a crush on Joseph which is not surprising.

Aw, Joseph runs to get the outside door for Brittany, who's holding laundry, and begs her to stop doing stuff that other people can do; apparently she's trying to wash the towels. He had just complained to Taylor how much he hurt his knee, but the worst thing is that he hurt it AFTER the competition; it was from "me being a f'ing jackass" according to him.

With the two of them on a lounge chair, Indy's repeating to Jasmine her comment to Michael that she couldn't vote for Alyssa, Jasmine, and Joseph.

Monte's been in the DR for over an hour.

Joseph joins Jasmine and Indy on their chair. He tells them that he spends the most time with them. They protest, saying he spends more time with Taylor, but he says that's only recently. He tells them that the guys talk about how much time he spends with Indy and Jasmine. Jasmine asks him how his talk with Michael went, and he says he just asked him to take him down and to let him know if he decides to leave him up. He says that this is his campaign speech to them; keep him if they think he can help their game. He also mentions that he hasn't won any competitions.

Indy says he has to stop saying in front of Taylor that Indy thinks Monte's attractive. He answers that EVERYONE thinks that.

I have to get off this conversation because Jasmine's moved from biting her nails to stroking her nose over and over.

I was just looking back at initial reactions to see how everyone has lived up (or down) to our expectations. Remember when Michael was just the weirdo in the cat shirt? And Kyle was the delusional mama’s boy who compared himself to a Ken doll? Interestingly enough, he said in a pre-game interview that the people he would least like to align with are those with “big personalities”. Terrance described himself as having a big personality. Apparently, nobody informed him of Kyle’s code. Jasmine said she wanted to align with the outsiders. Oops, missed that boat.

We thought Daniel would be cool because his favorite player was Dan Gheesling; we also thought Taylor would be cool because her faves were Janelle and Danielle Reyes. One out of two is not bad.

I thought I was done but my cats went out and have not come back in.

Monte's back but I couldn't find on any of the cameras if he explained his long absence (Jasmine says 3 hours; it was definitely at least 2). He and Taylor talked in the bathroom and she caught him up on Alyssa bringing him up to evict. Indy of course came in and interrupted the conversation.

Monte talking to Taylor about how he's not worried, he trusts the 7, makes me feel bad that some of them don't trust him. I haven't seen enough to know if he and Joseph are really an F2 with each other. He's calm knowing that it's just the other side of the house that is bringing up his name. He wonders why they'd think Michael would switch, and Taylor tells him because that's how THEY operate.

Monte and Taylor are a little sad that Terrance was operating against Taylor last week, when the two of them have supported him. He seems a little subdued, and I'm glad he has Taylor to talk to but sorry that they're not having a fun time like a lot of the others in the back yard.

While rewinding, I caught a little bit of an EXCRUCIATING conversation with Jasmine trying to find out who Joseph thought was attractive when he first entered the house. I was too mortified on her behalf to stay and listen.

Link to comment

Monte and Taylor comparing notes about being on the block. Monte is not nervous because he trusts Michael. Monte’s attitude is he’d rather stay loyal and go to jury than work with the other side. Taylor agrees. (This may be the biggest thing holding this group together— nobody wants to align with the alternative.)

Taylor laughs at how all the girls want to be her friend now: they rave about her cookies, say her jokes are hilarious. She sees right through it. She is disappointed by Terrance, but what can you do. At least it will make it easier to let him go.

Jasmine enters and Taylor puts on her game smile. “Here we go,” she whispers.

I was only half listening myself, because Jasmine, but Joseph responded very diplomatically that he would be interested in all of them if they were all single.

This made Jasmine start to shriek and punch his arm, because “all of them”? He wants all of them?

Joseph clarifies: He would be interested in any one of them.

He’s such a good liar.

They think Michael will keep noms the same and Monte will get voted out and Joseph will cry because of it and Alyssa's going to let him have it in her goodbye message. Ah, we've reached the point of the week where they start writing their own crackfics.

On the other side of the feeds, Monte and Joseph are chatting in the HoH room, laughing about how they're trying to target Monte this week and talking about how they're planning to aim for Alyssa next week after Daniel this week.

I’m having such a hard time getting a handle on this Kyle and Alyssa thing. Every time I see them together, all I hear is “you’re so hot”. “You’re hot.” “You’re so pretty. And so hot.” And then 30 minutes later, Kyle will be in the HoH acting like Alyssa means nothing to him and he’s just fine with taking her out.

Is Kyle acting like a lovesick imbecile to throw Alyssa off the track? Or does the sight of her just his brain turn to mush? I can’t tell which version of Kyle is the truth. I only know both are gross and creepy.
