The mysterious sound had to becoming through the vent ALL THE TIME. They couldn't hear that without holes in the walls in twenty different places.

Actually I thought Herrmann sabotaged the room.

Yeah, I did to. Or the whole house pranking him, in typical firehouse humor.

Mostly-harmless episode otherwise, although again with no water on the fire.

Why would the kid be in custody? There was no evidence that she started it, just a suspicion, and that's not enough to arrest someone. And in a sane department it would be the arson investigators that would make the determination to arrest/charge since beat cops aren't exactly specialists in that kind of thing. Now with that said, I did like the way they ultimately cleared her.

Don't care about Violet and the paramedic chief, although put me down with others who say casually boinking your boss is a cataclysmically stupid career move. Since it's pretty obvious that Violet/Gallo is the endgame story-wise, she's going to be in a world of hurt when things go wrong.

Continuing deification of Stella. Characters exist now just to tell her how awesome she is. It almost makes me wish Gabby were back. (Almost.)

That girl said she gave up weed because of drug tests, but do they still test for marijuana if it's legal in that state? It would be like testing for alcohol.

I'm of the opinion that the "paramedic chief" ain't as squeaky clean as he's made out to be. Something is going to happen with or between him and Violet.

My initial thought was that he is married.

I was thinking the same thing. If she's really so great, why does everyone always have to try to build her ego and tell her that? Should just be... obvious.

The girl don't have to worry about getting a job. She will get paid from the massive lawsuit for the false arrest. And give 10% to the Fire Cop (Surprised they waited this long to call him that). Why did the police arrest her without Severide's blessing?

There was a moment I thought Severide left Cruz and the others waiting by the house for hours in the Rescue truck while he and Seager went on their investigation.

Well, this episode seems to mark the beginning of the end for Pelham.

Stella's whole reason for not taking the Lt. job was her Girls on Fire duties.  Now that it seems that whats her name (sorry, don't know her name and don't really care) wants to take Girls on Fire over, Stella can now focus on being a Lt. which means that Pelham will most likely step aside so she can be Lt. at her own house.

If Girls on Fire is supposed to be promoting fire fighting for girls and trying to recruit them, shouldn't you have an actual fire fighter in charge of it instead of a house administrative assistant?

That line about "Who gives a damn, anyway?" got this response from me:  "Oh, maybe every other paramedic who works for the same guy and might be subject to disciplinary action at some time, even if you did the exact same thing..."

So, Chekhov's Thermostat was the culprit the whole time.  It's too bad they got rid of their resident construction guy.  Now Boden has to fork over station budget money to patch up that wall.  No doubt that will get the attention of the bean counters and someone will arrive looking for Boden's scalp, again.  Station 51 in peril!  Or he could be demoted back to BC and tie up that loose end.

I was kind of hoping that the sister had said something innocent but incriminating to Alexa, such as "We gotta light a fire under this boy", and Google went bwahahahaha, and there you are.

And is Stella the only woman firefighter interested/capable? Can't the female higher up (sorry blanking) make an appeal for more women fire fighters to step up? would certainly look good on their resume, no?

Yep, this is kind of why I took a break after she came back. I used to nickname this show Gabby Fire because of Gabby strangling all of the storylines. Now, it's Stella Fire. Every damn thing she does is so admired and she's so awesome and inspiring. It's suffocating. If I hear more inspirational stories about how Girls on Fire changed lives, I'm going break my TV.

This exactly. Why does every woman on this show need to hook up with their superior? It's giving all females working in male-dominated fields, especially first responders, a bad rap. Hawkins is wrong, as I believe it is a rule that an officer can't have relations with a subordinate. He's the chief of paramedics. And his relationship really could cause favoritism.

This episode really was a bore. The relationship crap between Violet and Hawkins. The tension between Violet and Gallo. The drama is so damn forced. The writing had them acting like immature children early in the season. And then when Gallo finally opens up, they have Violet falling asleep so, conveniently, she doesn't hear it. And then she takes it personal when Gallo tells her what we're all thinking. Her being with Hawkins, her chief, is not a good look.

The Stella deification is grinding my gears. A woman who was going to pass on the Lieutenant's test because her boyfriend was giving her the silent treatment and constantly needs to have her man give her the "You got this Stella Kidd" cheer is not someone I can take seriously in a leadership position.

And of course, another episode where Kelly is doing his side job of being OFI's #1 arson investigator. It's to the point where Cruz, in his only scene, refers to him as playing "fire cop." Fitting. Severide is so good at arson investigations he can ask the solid questions and find clues that the police and other actual arson investigators couldn't.
