Does the actual NCIS have as many offices as this franchise has series?  Sheesh.

They should just reboot JAG.  At least it would be a slightly different spinoff (having been the ancestor show as well, eons ago).

I would love nothing more than they bring back JAG! I know some of the actors have different gigs now, but a few shows here and there would be awesome!

I would suppose that anywhere there is a US Navy or USMC base there are a couple of NCIS Agents around. Both JAG and NCIS has given us scenes of NCIS Agents permanently assigned aboard aircraft carriers.

It was sad what NCIS: Los Angeles did to the legacy of Captain Rabb and Colonel MacKenzie. It has been almost 25 years now, Bud Roberts even made Captain almost 10 years ago on NCIS. Time to let them go.

Agreed. Just do a totally new cast.  It's the actual office that makes sense to show again, not the characters.

Agree but there is a legacy there.  I don't necessarily want Harm and Mac back, yes there are NCIS stationed anywhere there are Naval sites, I'd like to see a callback once in a while to the roots of this show. That is all...

I get so mad when I watch NOLA reruns on Pop.   That show was so good in the first 4 seasons.   The scenery porn in Hawaii is nice, but we already have that with Magnum, plus 10 years of Hawaii 5-0.   The NOLA setting was interesting and a nice change.   None of this cast radiates confidence as a seasoned Federal agent in that promo.

Would love some scoop on NCIS: Hawai’i! Perhaps some news on the “Kacy” front to help us get through hiatus?? –Stefanie

I am hearing that the last three episodes of the season really lean into the Kate/Lucy storyline, as the exes will be forced to face their feelings for each other — as well as face the risk of losing each other. By all accounts, one sequence in particular in the May 23 finale will have ‘shippers talking….

NCIS and NCIS: Hawaii to Crossover Again With Season Premieres

In the series’ second-ever crossover event — airing Monday, Sept. 19 starting at 9/8c, when NCIS and Hawaii open their respective 20th and second seasons — Tennant and Ernie Malik (Jason Antoon) will find themselves in the nation’s capital, while Torres and Knight will again spend time with Jane’s team in Hawaii. NCIS‘ Gary Cole, Brian Dietzen and Diona Reasonover will also guest-star in NCIS: Hawai’i‘s Season 2 premiere.

NCIS: Hawai'i's Tori Anderson Teases a 'Happy, Domestic' #Kacy in Season 2 — Oh, and About That Serenade....

TVLINE | Looking ahead to Season 2, can you tease any interesting dynamics between Kate and other characters coming up? Any capers you might be getting involved in?

Well, I will say that with Kate and Lucy, you start seeing them more in a domestic light, which is really nice. It’s a happy, healthy environment — not like the first season, which was rather tumultuous. And you do see her relationships grow with everyone else on the team, like with Ernie. There’s stuff with Jesse (played by Noah Mills), which is nice…. I mean, we’re only shooting Episode 5 now, so there’s still a lot of room for things to happen in a 22-episode season.

The Law & Order event for the season premiere has raised the game on these events, surpassing the earlier Wolf Chicago and FBI efforts. While L&O: Organized Crime fit in the Los Angeles NCIS spinoff has been so far off the franchise reservation this one scares me. I wonder if that L&O success has caused a rushed NCIS version coming for the post holidays premiere?

An ex CIA Agent in Charge, a medical examiner from halfway around the world and the widower of a retired CIA Agent meet and gets caught up in CIA stuff being the initiating event is iffy. I would cameo New Orleans cast members into this

Oh goody. We get to see Lucysue Run faster than two 6 foot tall men. Fight better than the former marine. Be the object of affection of everyone. She can do anything. They need to get Whistler a better girl than super munchkin.

The show can afford this? 🤔

LL Cool J Joins NCIS: Hawai'i Season 3 — Vanessa Lachey Cheers New Addition

In a TVLine exclusive, NCIS: Hawai’i front woman Lachey says she is “so excited” to have LL Cool J (aka Todd Smith) come on board for Season 3.

“This is an amazing opportunity to continue evolving the NCIS franchise,” she notes. “And what better way to do that than have Sam Hanna join the team.”

You would think they could have held off until the season ended in Hawai'i

The EPs and the leading lady are too excited about it.

Why Sam Hanna and not Callen?

Why not any beloved character from NCIS NOLA? They never resurfaced.

Well I think because SEAL, and it looks as if Sam Hanna is replacing Charlie 1 and Janey is already in the ex CIA spy box. I remember the last episode of the first season of SVU when Ice-T entered to say that was awkward that on screen he replaced  Michelle Hurd. At least they didn't show Sam and Charlie 1 going south together.

With the OSP Supervisory Special Agent saying the Hawai'i office major case team are clean but was willing to go out for their boss and LL Cool J now in the mix I think TPTB plan on  using a lot of unused Los Angeles scripts on Hawai'i.

Franchise wide after the initial crossovers among active shows it took a long time for JAG folks to show up. And when an ex JAG actor was cast we would be disappointed to find him in another role. Like when Scott Lawrence came on as a judge and he wasn't now a Judge Sturgis Turner nor the DEA agent he played earlier on NCIS

Given the tight timelines and how it seems that these shows work, I can't imagine they have unused scripts. Maybe they have parts of discarded ideas but the question is, would they even keep them or would they shred them?

I would think that they just want to include popular faces/characters. The other option I could see is that there are some contract requirements LL Cool J or CBS still have to fulfill. 🤷‍♀️

🤬

I just saw a promo for 2024. It seems the CBS-NCIS corporate has completed their takeover of the outlier show. The mini spy boss and LL Cool J al la NCIS Los Angeles were very prominent for reoccurring characters.

Anything on NCIS: Hawai’i? –Lindsay

Spoiler

Both Vanessa Lachey and LL Cool J are pretty terrific in the CBS drama’s Feb. 12 season premiere, as Sam revisits his reaction to wife Michelle’s incredibly tragic death in order to help Tennant cope with her own trauma/demons.

I think LL Cool J's salary has blown the budget of NCIS: Hawaii. This might be their last season, given the diminishing returns.

Interview with CBS prez Amy R., she had positive comments about all other NCIS including Sydney, but nothing to say about Hawaii.

Also, the new NCIS: Origins (young Gibbs show) must directly follow behind original NCIS in the 2024-2025 season. So what now? Move Hawaii to 8pm? Unlikely.

Matt’s Inside Line: Scoop on Chicago Fire, The Rookie, All American, Chucky, Evil, Elsbeth, the FBI: International Doggo, Fire Country, TWD and More!

Q: Am I overthinking the face NCIS: Hawai’i‘s Kate made (screencapped above) when Lucy brushed off her interest in meeting her family and suggested they just “stick to the basics”…? I’m worried their relationship is due for a hiccup.

Quote

I caught that, too — and Yasmine Al-Bustami said we’d be “correct” to read it as frustration Kate is feeling. “God bless her patience,” said Lucy’s portrayer, “because I know if I were in that situation I would be so frustrated that Lucy is not opening up to me. She wants more of that, me, Yas, wants more of that, and I think the audience wants more of that, so I hope that we get more. Maybe someone else will do a background check on her. [Laughs] Maybe Kate will! Who knows? We shall see. But yes, that would be a very valid thing for Kate to feel.”

Q: Will we meet Heather Boone this season on NCIS: Hawai’i?

Quote

I am told that, alas, we will not meet Heather (nor see any of Jesse’s family) during this strikes-shortened, 10-episode season.

NCIS: Hawai'i (CBS)

The Case to Keep: For one, the CBS island drama fills the Magnum Five-0-shaped hole in our heart. Secondly, team member dynamics are really starting to gel and evolve in compelling ways, two-plus seasons in.

The Case to Cut: Adding LL Cool J’s Sam to the Season 3 mix has been fun, to be sure, but… we can’t help but feel it came at a cost of some original characters’ development. Plus, the NCIS franchise is in no danger of wasting away, with two new spinoffs (one for CBS) waiting in the wings.

Q: When the two-part NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 Finale starts airing, will there be new info regarding the Elite team?

Quote

I am hearing that not only will we learn more about the Elite team Sam has covertly been shepherding, but we will also get to see them, when in the finale they work a case with Tennant’s team.

Q: Is NCIS: Hawai’i‘s Jane going to looking for her mother? Is that was this week’s final scene was suggesting?

Quote

There are no immediate plans to pull at that thread, but Daniela Ruah, the NCIS: LA vet who directed this week’s “reunion,” hopes they one day do so. “Like with any great show, you want to start planting these seeds that will hopefully come to fruition in further seasons, and I would love them to explore that,” Ruah told me. “And the wonderful actress (Celeste Oliva) who plays her mother…? I’d love to see her come back. She was so incredibly intense, and really perfectly cast for this, so I would love to see how that [real] interaction between Jane and her turns out.”

Terrible.   This show was one of the only shows currently on TV led by an Asian actor.   So many have been cancelled this season… this one, Quantum Leap, American Born Chinese, Brothers Sun.  I guess there’s still The Cleaning Lady.

I liked the cast a lot, and I’m sad that we won’t get to see their further adventures and the beautiful Hawaii scenery.  It’s too bad that just as we get Sydney that we couldn’t have had more crossovers.

I hope the cast lands new gigs soon, especially Vanessa Lachey, Noah Mills, and Tori Anderson.

I don’t watch original NCIS so I’m thankful I won’t have to tolerate the awful Wilmer Valderama anymore on any crossovers.

As a franchise NCIS is looking like CSI with each new spinoff lasting fewer seasons than its predecessor.

With Agent Hanna's NCIS Elite promised for the finale I can't help but think of an improving Star Trek Enterprise having its finale taken over as a bonus TNG episode.

What I don't get is another half or full season of Sydney unless the Australians are picking up much of the cost

The cynic in me is wondering if they deliberately delayed the official announcement so that they could have the cast help promote the 1000 episodes deal without it being overshadowed.
