AimingforYoko February 19, 2021 Share February 19, 2021 Quote Starling and the team are called to Tennessee where the FBI is laying siege to a fringe militia group called "The Statesmen". I wonder how many months after Waco this was? I kinda like there's no elaborate psychos yet, just regular scumbags. And it looks like the show's trying to make me like Krendler. Stop that. 2 3 Link to comment
sempervivum February 19, 2021 Share February 19, 2021 When did Clarice get a brother? Why did she have to put on a smoky eye and dark lipstick before going into the compound? 20 minutes ago, AimingforYoko said: I wonder how many months after Waco this was? Based on the fall leaf colors we saw as they drove into Tennessee, it must be late September or October. Waco was in February. 2 Link to comment

Waco was in February. Waco was April 19, 1993 - I know this because it’s the birthday of someone I love very much. Two years later, Oklahoma City was on the same date. 3 2 Link to comment
Annber03 February 19, 2021 Share February 19, 2021 This episode reminded me a bit of the "Minimal Loss" episode of Criminal Minds. I liked Clarice's interaction with the kid. The way this was filmed also really made it feel like something filmed back in the '90s, which I also liked. 7 Link to comment

I was thinking about that and the only reason I could think that she would do that is to get him to threaten her life so that if the sniper shot him, it would be justified, resisting arrest, threatening an officer, her life was in danger, etc. 2 8 Link to comment

Netfoot February 20, 2021 Share February 20, 2021 Speaking of Horrible Hollywood Tropes. Why in hell is every single electronic surveillance device designed to operate without being found equipped with a huge flashing LED?!?? It never fails. Some of them even go <¡beep!> <¡beep!><¡beep!> fer gossake! 6 Link to comment
tennisgurl February 20, 2021 Share February 20, 2021 That was a bit better than the pilot I thought, the characters seem more real and its trying to go for something a bit more artsy in its cinematography and direction. Clarice was also a lot tougher while actually in the field and the follow up from last week was handled alright. Even her boss was less one dimensional, possibly because the AG took the role of Authority Figure Who Wants Results. Interesting that they are holding back on the poetic serial killers for now, guess that will be saved up for later. I also keep forgetting that this show is set in the 90s, I guess the lack of 90s soundtrack and plaid is throwing me off. 4 3 Link to comment

Nirvana was barely out of their Seattle garage when these event "happened". Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul were burning up the FM radio. 2 6 Link to comment
Simba122504 February 23, 2021 Share February 23, 2021 I think faux David Koresh did a great job. I was actually upset he was killed because that's character I would like to have seen again. The series still isn't doing much for me. It's so CBS. 3 Link to comment
Dowel Jones February 25, 2021 Share February 25, 2021 I had to laugh at the end, when the AG tells the sheriff "I'm giving you six months to resign." So go get your criminal empire straightened out and your illegal money scams hidden, or I'm coming back! 4 Link to comment
