emmawoodhouse September 18, 2020 Share September 18, 2020 I really don't care that much to look, but did Jane Fonda write a book? She was also on Andy Cohen's show last night. bobbyjoe September 19, 2020 Share September 19, 2020 Talk about an episode that suffered from not being live. I guess the precautions prevent the studio stuff to be live like it once was, but of all nights we needed the serious Bill Maher we saw right before the 2016 election when he correctly gave a serious speech about the oncoming danger of fascism, tonight was a night when we could have used some real discussion from Bill and his guests about what happened tonight. It’s hard to laugh at his pre-recorded jokes and its particularly hard to care about his “yeah, Bill, everybody and their grandmother has already critiqued the Oscars rules” ending monologue when something as heavy as Ginsburg’s death hangs over everything. Since he found his way back to the studio, maybe its time to also figure out how to do at least some segments live again, whether from the studio or from his home. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/111571-s18e27-michael-cohen-jane-fonda-tim-miller-trae-crowder/#findComment-6355815
HelenBaby September 19, 2020 Share September 19, 2020 Trae Crowder tweeted last night that they did indeed find out about RBG during taping but I guess Bill didn’t discuss it. I saw him talking to Fonda for a few minutes but they never talked about it. I skipped last night’s show because of the breaking news about RBG. I saw the clip of them very briefly addressing it later, but man... I just wasn’t in the mood. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/111571-s18e27-michael-cohen-jane-fonda-tim-miller-trae-crowder/#findComment-6356604

SG429 September 20, 2020 Share September 20, 2020 In defense of production, it's a live show but it's not a breaking news show. The panel is prepared on topics to be covered, and the hour is tightly formatted. Being live gives them some flexibility up to air time, but they can't blow it up 20 minutes into broadcast like Rachel can with the resources of NBC news behind her. 12 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/111571-s18e27-michael-cohen-jane-fonda-tim-miller-trae-crowder/#findComment-6357413
Thomas Crown September 20, 2020 Share September 20, 2020 Pretty good show IMO overall. To answer Bill's question about Michael Cohen's jail sentence, I think he should have gotten more jail time IMO for participating in all those crimes with Trump. I do agree with Cohen's point about those working with Trump are not in for it just for the money but the intoxicating feeling about being able to do whatever you want and getting away with it. Jane Fonda was great and good for her in continuing to fight the good fight on climate change. Yes we shouldn't be giving up the fight but damn the future doesn't look good when you read the news and look at the data about climate change. Seems we can never make any progress on climate change despite decades of warnings. And we passed the scientist's warning for the Earth's point of no return in carbon parts per million in the atmosphere a decade ago so not sure how they are going to come back from that when it looks like producing renewal energy takes up soo in much fossil fuels. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/111571-s18e27-michael-cohen-jane-fonda-tim-miller-trae-crowder/#findComment-6358004
